Rebellion don't seem interested in one of their undoubted signature characters anymore, so someone else might as well have a go. It's a brilliantly simple and infinitely flexible premise, so why it's proven so difficult to get the strip going again is a mystery to me.

Good lads! :D
Posted this on other sites. Just a thought.
Perhaps to further show fan support for Dredd and a potential sequel we could organise an online "pledge to buy Dredd Friday" or something along those lines? Pick an imminent forthcoming date and maybe someone on here could rustle up a suitably striking image to go along with it and we could share this to friends on Facebook, Twitter etc, where fans (and potential new fans) pledge to buy a Dredd DVD or Blu-ray to further the cause? What do others think? :)

I don't think this is prompted by any great belief in the character or premise, I think it was just a matter of Rogue being the only other 2000ad character with a videogame. All the same, there's plenty of high-concept sci-fi series coming out of the US comics market right now, so I'm perfectly open to the idea I'm wrong. Be interested to see the creative team on this one.
They also reprinted The Zaucer of Zilk, which doesn't have a videogame.

Yeah and they are reprinting Sinister Dexter stuff (oh please let that be a success!). Concept and possibly bigger names seem (??) to be driving this, given that Rogue has Dave Gibbons attached and the S&D stuff they are reprinting will be from Andy Clarke's time and has Dan Abnett who has some presence in the US comics scene.
Quote from: Colin_YNWA on 21 July, 2013, 07:01:20 AM

Rogue is a very rare thing indeed in that despite Gibbons leaving so early into the initial run the art just keeps getting better (Colin Wilson) & better (Cam Kennedy). Here's hoping that it can tap into the Star Wars market with those two names attached.
Oh, & there's this Steve Dillon fella that comes along later too.
Such wide gutters at the bottom of each page resulting from the cramming of the old IPC size to fit into that tiddling American format may present a stumbling block. But hopefully this will lead to oversize artist-centric hardcovers ala the
Complete... Dredds further down the line.

Shouldn't Death's spirit form be emanating from Sandra's head? Judging by the similar rock chick barnet, the general demeanour, and the relative obscurity of the character in the US, that's the same girl who features in this (http://wondygirl.tumblr.com/post/28220569928/2000adonline-thelastinterceptor-judge), which - until the film came out last year - was the only photograph which came up when you did an image search for Anderson.
Fantastic as Integra is, I suppose if you want the long tall blonde and lovely all American look of Bolland's fevered imaginings you have to go direct to the source. She seems to have changed partners from previous years (http://blog.lacosacine.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/tumblr_m7aq4xV1rp1qcds6zo1_500.jpg).
Maybe it's Kraken...
They're both the same people, they've done this con and last year. I seem to recall that Rosie is about the same height or possibly shorter than Integra who is 5' 2", but her boots have heels. At a guess Jared is about 5'10", Rosie about 5'1" maybe 5'2".
A lot depends who they're standing next to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkWBbunTVbE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkWBbunTVbE)
It's more a case of whoever is closest to the con and fancies doing it - luckily Anderson seems to range quite a bit in look, which helps a lot with hairstyles.
I think my favourite is still the Brett Ewins stylings of the first shoot I did with her - would like to do a proper shoot with the PR judges again some time, rather than at a con, and actually take my time getting some good shots.

Haha! Brilliant! Good on you, Tom!
Oh my lord. Usually I go to SDCC once a decade just to remind myself why I'm never going again. Then after a few years I slip up a bit and start thinking "ehh. Maybe it wasn't as bad as I remember it..." and end up going again.
Had a great time but man, if you've never been to this one there's nothing to really describe it. It's like, and I mean this quite literally, stepping onto another world. Completely overwhelming. You can actually feel your brain straining inside your skull simply because it cannot handle the visuals. Everywhere you look, something fucking crazy is happening.
Luckily, I stumbled upon the 2000AD booth as soon as I walked in and blew a chunk of my self-allocated budget in the space of fifteen minutes. No will power. Met the staff. Everyone's a total gent. The almighty Henry Flint sketched me a Dredd. Lovely, lovely guy. Just like Kevin O'Neill, it's disconcerting to try associate the imagery of the art with the actual artist and make it add up. So much stuff to buy. So many shiny things.
The panel was cool. Pretty healthy turnout from the fans. 2000AD's definitely making some inroads here at last, compared to a few years ago. I do feel most of the people were there in relation to the movie but that's good too as at least they're getting exposed to the comic itself and the other characters around Dredd.
Richmond and Dave should be honored to know Zarjaz and FutureQuake got some serious love from the 2000AD staff. They plugged what the guys are doing with real affection and respect.
I'm cool with the IDW Rogue idea. From what I understood, it won't tie in with 2000AD continuity, just like their version of Dredd, and I could be wrong but I got the impression it won't be a retelling of the Traitor General arc either. (Which is probably just as well. Let's have something new.) Dave Gibbons may return to do some cover art for it, which is great. He's excited about a new take on the old material.
Met up with John Higgins after that for a sketch. Great chatting with him. Ended up talking shop with him for about twenty minutes.
