What's the most deranged comic you have ever read...
... for me it's Wild Bill Sankawhasit's Stray Toasters.
I had a burnt toast nightmare today and it all came flooding back...
Forgot the title, but it was some arty drivel in Heavy Metal IIRC, involving a phallic telephone turning into a lizard. Ick!
That Sienkiewicz thingy, always meant to have a look at it but never got 'round :(
if u ever get the chance to check out "boiled angel" by mike diana...well, it's pretty deranged stuff i can tell u....
only for the thick skinned

European 'porn' comics are deranged. Picked some up in Madrid from a street Vendor and its like reading old Heavy Metal with slightly less violence. My grasp of written Spanish is negligable as it is so the language barrier enhances the derrangement factor substantially... mind you Im not sure they would translate. Those crazy europeans.
Stray Toasters deranged...It made perfect sense to me.
Calculus Cat: Death to Television is great as well.
Either Jimmy Corrigan:Worlkd's smartest Boy (Ithink that's the title..) or Pop Gun War, an obscure yank indie by a bloke called Fred dalrymple, if you ever see it pick it up, it's very surreal (but in a GOOD way).

Not too many left nowadays. Actually the Meg story where Dredd kills Bambi was pretty sick. But also very good!
Heheeheheheehh..
Jared.
Probably "Tales From The Mortuary".
Nice one Art!
OK Stray Toasters does explain everything in the last issues (a shame that) but up until then... what the freck! odd robots killing and 're-wiring' boys and great big fat blue bloke who kind of becomes just a head and toast!
There's very little in the UK/US market that can compare with the stuff you can get in South America and Japan. However, most of the truly disturbing material is never translated (not that you'd want most of it to be), because no one would dare to stock it.
Not really surprising in countries where comic shop owners can get put away because they stock the odd Vertigo title, which might be corrupting to comics' core readership of 8-10 year olds.
Flaming Carrot Comics by Bob Burden is one of my favourites, its absolutely bonkers and well worth looking out for.The latest issue is in stores now,a crossover with Rotts' friend Reid Fleming-Worlds Toughest Milkman. It features a vampire version of Lassie on a skateboard, which is so funny it hurts.
Also I always go on about this comic called Snake 'n' Bacons cartoon cabaret by Michael Kupperman, because I'm the only person whos ever heard of it I think, but its hilariously funny, really witty stuff, like a crazed Picasso who wants to chop everyone into "leetle cubes" and the adventures of Snake and Bacon, film stars and detectives, even though theyre a snake and a slice of bacon.Brilliant stuff.

Remember from the 80's pretty much anything by Knockabout comics made very little sense although it probably made a lot of sense if you had been smoking 'herbal' fags.
Do they still publish?
I'm freaked out by Flaming Carrot, Chester Adams and Grant Morrison.
There's a crossover for you.

The most outrageuos thing I ever read was 'Black Kiss' by Howard Chaykin. I won't go into the details but after the first episode I said to myself 'the only sick/pornographic topic not covered here is necrophilia..' and guess what appeared in the next issue?
Give credit whre it's due though, his art work is quite good.
Oh yes, Black Kiss... that was 'interesting'
Actually the art gets a bit rough in the final couple of issues, perhaps a good thing considering what he's drawing...
Think he was drawing one handed at that point
Flaming Carrot. I love that guy. Had a great crossover with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles a few years back (when they were cool). Doesnt seem possible does it...
