Thankfully Dredd's down to a fiver at the ASDA (same as TDKR so..).
Or maybe I'll pick up a Blu-ray for someone.

It would be rude not to really! ;)
What to do :-\
Well, Christmas is not too far off so you can buy a load for presents for folks. Most of my friends who have actually seen Dredd thought it was good but none of them would have seen it at the cinema and some would not have seen it if it were not for the word of mouth recommendations. It always makes me smile when someone comes up and tells me they were shocked how good it was. I'm not sure where the general poulation got this notion that it was crap.

Getting them in YOUNG!
My Granddaughter is 1 on the 25th... My daughter would kill me... My son-in-law might not though...
Cellar of Dredd should hold a ceremonial unfurling of the Empire Dredd banner with a Planet Replica (and other versions) armed Judge guard. (Should happen every year actually to mark the cinema release of Dredd).
Nice idea
and free drinks.
And special guests of John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra!
Soon well be having an annual convention like the Big Lebowski ones!
And here it is...

There is a five-a-side court up the road, I'm thinking of hanging it from the fence and taking a few pics
If only you knew when Google Streetview cars were going past...
If I was an evil media Svengali, I'd probably have one of my unpaid interns spend ten hours a day knocking up fake social media campaigns encouraging people to buy more copies of my films too.
Aw, don't say that Cosh.
They don't need fake media campaigns or unpaid interns, there are plenty of fans enthusiastic about Dredd to do it of their own accord.
Or organise a run of 60+ movie costumes, and find people willing to buy them, go to cons and dress up as that character.
Or make fan films.
Sometimes the answer is, they're just fans - rather than some conspiracy - and the IP holders have seen a way to get publicity for their product with minimal overheads, which is what they do.
If they sat in a corner with their arms folded saying, 'No we shan't support this thing' people would be screaming blue murder as to why they didn't do anything, and then blame *them* for the lack of a sequel regardless of whether there was any possibility of one or not based on home media sales.
Yeah, I know. I thought it would be mildly amusing to see if anyone went daft. Which they didn't and it wasn't .
I know everyone will tell me yo just not to read the posts but I really wish there was an option to ignore entire sub-forums.
You've really got to hand it to those behind the Make a Dredd sequel page, they really know how to run a campaign. Kudos to them.
Buy another copy on the 18th, hell why not.

Feck it, why not. I'll pick up a DVD
4 minutes until we hit the 'buy' buttons!
Incidentally, the 3D Blu ray is only £1 more than the DVD on Amazon!
Happy Dredd day creeps!
Hope we all did our bit! ;)
Just picked up the VHS of the 1995 Judge Dredd off ebay :D
(I have done this right haven't I??)
Only joking but will try to pick up a copy tonight on way home from work dependant on funds (get paid Friday so cash a bit low :( )
Some lucky buggers are going to get a copy on Blu ray and DVD this Xmas. I also bought it on iTunes, and am currently on break in work watching it on my phone! Good times people, good times! :D
Have bought the Blu-ray but must admit I am a little sceptical that this will result in sequel. Still, buying the film and putting more sales onto the total must be a better way of sending a message to those that make the decisions than a petition or letters, so I am more than willing to do it.
Had to order it off Amazon as went into the local Tesco first thing this morning to find they only had the DVD on the shelves. Bought the DVD on the day of release so this time around I was set on the Blu-ray, then it makes it seem I'm not buying exactly the same thing twice!
I don't even own a Blu-ray player at this point so this might prompt to go out and get one!
Have bought it again, this is the third Bluray I've bought now!

Do iTunes got subtitle...?
Just checked on Amazon and Dredd Blu Ray is now ranked #17 and DVD is #59 in "Film & TV"... Not bad work at all, but it may be pretty difficult getting it into the top 10 with the likes of Fast & Furious 6, Star Trek Into Darkness and Iron Man 3 hogging the top spots

I think those numbers have been updated as positions are now Bluray #5 Bluray 3D #2 and Film & TV #17
As ever, the issue remains the US. Last time I looked, the Dredd DVD was 800-something. Can someone in the US buy 100,000 copies, please?

apologies for the double post. It looks like Amazon have actually sold out of Blu Ray as it's being fulfilled by a third party now.
And if you look in the "Movers & Shakers (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/movers-and-shakers/dvd/ref=zg_bs_tab_t_bsms)" section on Amazon UK the Blu Ray sales are currently up 1,543% and DVD up 785% in the past 24 hours!

Goaty - I can't see if it has subtitles. Is there a way to switch them on/off on your iPhone? I could try and switch them on if I knew how, and then report back.

Just bagged me a DVD and hovering over the official T shirt... anybody bought one? Do they look OK?
Nice to hear that Lionsgate are getting behind the campaign Joe!
And yeah Betel, the T-Shirt looks great! :)
Another copy of the DVD but my shirt won't be here until at least tomorrow. Bah. Wanted to wear it to work today, even my old boss was commenting on the Dredd movie campaign in a positive manner.
Bought my copy, as far as I can see on Amazon it's #1 Blu Ray, #1 3D Blu Ray and #4 DVD.
How cool is that!?!

On Amazon the Dredd DVD is now up 3,812%!! Blu-ray up 1,600%!
Have just decided to buy another one!
Two DVDs and one blu-ray from me today on top of my original blu-ray. I would love to know how many sell today, don't suppose we ever will.
Can't really justify buying a Blu Ray I already own when I just massively cut back on food spending (I forsee many rice and tinned fish based dinners in my immediate future). I did, however, stream it on Netflix US and rate it a full 5 stars (accidentally spamming half of Facebook in the process). I've done a bit of Twittery pokery through the day, too. So: when does shooting begin?
I couldn't really justify buying a film I already own for the sake of it.
So I started thinking about getting the DVD as an early Christmas present. Trouble is, the only friend I think WOULD like it has already bought it for herself.
Anyhow, I took a chance and bought the DVD anyway for another mate. I'm taking a bit of a chance with him as I'm concerned the violence and language might offend him. On the other hand, it's really not all that bad from that POV (and I'm sure he's seen worse elsewhere). There's more of a chance that he just won't like the story, but we all take that chance when we watch a film for the first time, don't we?
Well good luck to them.
I'd already bought it twice on BR (One UK to give to a friend) and the US one, and also on iTunes for convenience + seeing it twice at the cinema (4 if you count the freebies)
I think I've done my bit for Dredd already - and I do worry this is just going to blow up in their faces when nothing immediately happens (if at all)
If anything were to happen I wouldn't expect it for at least another year.
Yeah, I know - I'm just expecting them to get a barrage of 'We did what you said, where's our sequel' questions.
I'm also very aware that there has been no direct communication from DNA themselves as far as I know - it's always been vague 'sources'.
I think Joe knows something ;)
It's all that time-travel.

Typical 1st century thinking.
Seeing as I finally got around to getting myself a BluRay player a couple of weeks ago it would seem now is the time to buy something to put in it. So, one copy of the Dredd BR duly ordered in support of Day of Dredd. :D
Fecking ace, this is truly power to the people on the interweb. I get my Amazon Bluray tomorrow. Can't wait to watch Dredd for the fifth time tomorrow night:-)
Well, impressive results, but as far as I'm concerned the campaign doesn't end there. I'll still be promoting it, and look forward to getting my t-shirt to wear proudly at all important occasions - interviews, weddings, funerals and suchlike.
Quote from: Steve Green on 18 September, 2013, 10:54:15 PMYeah, I know - I'm just expecting them to get a barrage of 'We did what you said, where's our sequel' questions.
Realistically, the problem is that there's clearly a demand, but a massive chunk of it is coming from the UK, which is a relatively small market. Had the DVD/Blu-Ray stormed up the US charts, that would have been helpful. The movie having arrived on Netflix probably doesn't help (although it might boost the brand's value).
The way this is looking to me is another Firefly. Dredd will be long remembered as a cracking piece of sci-fi, and it will continue to sell, odd bursts here and there from campaigns. People will look back in a decade and, regardless of the iffy initial reception, wonder why the hell someone didn't take the universe further on the big or small screen.
What we really need is some rich Russian or Arab who's a massive Dredd fan just flinging 50 million at a new production, just to see the next slice of the story.
My early Crimbo presie :D

The t-shirt finally turned up. It's really good quality! I'm pleasantly surprised. Nice thick material, and a solidly printed image which should withstand a good many washes.
So what was the outcome did it hit the high spot?

Best secret Santa present ever!
I got that John Landis "Movie Monsters" coffee table book as my Secret Santa present. It's fantastic.
Bah. Last year I got a box of chocolates.
It reeked of "Oh bugger, it's my Secret Santa today and I've forgotten to buy him something. Quick, give me a box of them choccies we got last week."
I know that is ungrateful. I know it's not about receiving. But, equally, it's not about being a thoughtless fecker either.
