From January's winner
Bob Molesworth:
Quote"2000BC - Stone aged interpretations of 2000AD worlds or characters"
So go wild - get primitive - bear in mind there are archaeologists on the board so
ACCURACY IS KEY - no "cavemen riding dinosaurs", alright? ;)
- remember there are
PRIZES TO BE WON - one for the winner, one for Tharg's Choice - ! All entries will be featured on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/2000adartcomp) where they are admired and liked by our 290 followers :D There will also be a bonafide 2000ad droid judging their favourite entry for Droid's Choice....
Rules are these:
- You can enter as many times as you like but bear in mind it will split your vote so
it may not be worth it.
- All entries have to be specifically for this competition - so no pictures you've done for anything else.
YOU HAVE UNTIL THE 23rd OF FEBRUARY WHEN WE WILL HUNT THE VOTING AUROCH
A picture based around the B.C. Cartoons of Johnny Hart.

UNGA BUNGA!

both Fantastic, i bet captain Lawman can say "I am the Law" better than Stallone.
Nice work Pete. I love it. Will we get to see a breakdown of how you created it on your blog?
I had thought of Cavey too but then remembered B.C.
They are both absolutely awesome! I am looking forward to seeing what else people come up with.
... and Pete I want to see a full Captain Lawman comic by the end of the month please :)
I AM THE LAWG
...is that for the competition macbrayne? It's not prehistoric enough ;)
Heh it's an old old cartoon dug

2000BC, can we pretend Droopy is a Border Collie? Then it works!
I've just noticed on mine I spelled Wagner wrong. I've never been so disgusted with myself! Thankfully Wanger Barbera works quite nicely... erm... hey, I meant to do it! Yes, that's it, I was tricking you all along.

Oh and also we've got our Droid's Choice in place ;)
I wanted to upload my first picture file via my iPad, but it's telling me the file is too large. Anybody able to give advice?
Here's Judgerussell's cave painting styled picture:D

Loving SKDs Cave Dredd and Judgerussell's cave painting. All my initial ideas have already been snapped up. Better get cracking quick.

Use a smaller file?
Judgerussel, i was given advive to use photobucket, once you have uploaded your pic you can edit its size. but i found to edit it i had to go in through safari and not the app to do it. i use my Ipad all the time. on this post is an example of a Dredd and death i have done and uploaded with my ipad :), i just finished this on monday so i can get on with one for this months competition.
I ended up just using Facebook. It was easier. Lol
Halo Bones..

(Tee-hee).
Loving that Sabre-Toothed Toby and those certainly are some different drummers.
Anderstone
Awful play on words, specially when I saw how good Halo Bones is, class Jon.

Love it!
Plus, puns are great! Puns are the bedrock upon which 2000 AD is founded (pun intended, naturally). We should get extra marks for puns.

:o
heres mine, if i got the sizing right
Have to say, the Halo Bones (grone) is a stunning pic.
Love the cave painting as well.
Thanks for the lovely words of praise.
these are all amazing!
*BUMP*
Remember this ends a WEEK TOMORROW!
Halo Bones is brilliant!
erm...hmmm. This is the result of not reading the brief properly. I saw the 2000BC bit and passed over the stone age aspect without taking it in. By the time I realised I'd done too much work on the pic to change it!
Anyhow, I started doing the art comp to try and force myself to expand my drawing skills and I had fun with the Babylonian redesigns anyway!
Utterly brilliant!
And no - I only thought "cave men" would make it simpler a brief, by all means get more specific to the 20th century BC -
Stonehenge, Minoan Crete, Bronze age China, horses were tamed, glass first appears, the Olmec civilization was doing its thing in Mesoamerica - the Jomon period in Japan.... etc etc there was a lot going on :D

This is absolutely right, though. I
agonised over briefly considered the idea of doing something more historically accurate. But then I couldn't be arsed. And I'd already thought up the pun.
Cheers Crazy Fox Machine. Much appreciated. And yes, mighty interesting time period. Should study it more. I had another idea which if no one else does I might waffle about.
And Jon 'Halo Bones' is a cracking pun.
warriors of the B.C. time.

Goddammit, that's a much better pun!
Hee hee, Cheers Jon! *cheesy grin*
Some great punnage going on in this thread!
another outstanding pun, also great job on the artwork
All cracking stuff here, but I bloody love BC Warriors!
These are all great!
A bit of a silly one I was doing today in work

First time is saw that I thought it said Tranny Welch, which is a whole different thing.
my scanner died many months ago so I cant enter but I'm surprised no one else has done Judge Fredd (flintstone) c'mon someone make my idea real please?
Yay, managed to get something done for this months competition! Didn't have much time left so I did a 2 hour-ish speed paint. Hope you enjoy :D

Loving the B.C. Warriors one.

I'm pretty sure it was sent into the Nerve Centre by an Earthlet twenty-odd years ago. By the way, great work, Johnny and Pictsy

It was also on a t-shirt I owned, which seemed to be properly licenced and everything.
When SAS Sergeant Nick Stone is caught in a nuclear explosion, he finds himself catapulted into a strange stone-age world of human-animal hybrids, ruled over by tyrannical shaman Leeshar. With the aid of Sabretooth cat-woman Liana, Direwolf-man Gruff and Arsinoitherium Q-Bone, Stone must lead the slave-like Yujees in rebellion and become... Piltdown Man!
Didn't finish this, as is perhaps obvious. There were supposed to be several other characters and stuff added, but I completely lost enthusiasm in it. It was all I could do to bother finishing the characters that were there... Ho hum. That's the way it goes sometimes.
Here's my first entry into a 2000AD forum comp, which I've finished just in time. It's another Judge Dredd devolved to be more simian-like, a look that really seems to suit him...
All that's left is to think of a punning title...Ol' Flintstony Face. Has that one being done yet? :D

Two more absolute belters there. Great quality this month, well done all
I feel very cheeky once again placing my efforts alongside the mighty Jimbo and others but I actually enjoyed this one. The only Stone Age Savage who earns the name.

I'm really enjoying the sheer imagination that's going into these. Fantastic work from everyone.
Cheers
Jim
Piltdown Man is another great pun.
Love the chalk Hammerstein as well.
But want to cry slightly that Pictsy did that brilliant stone head in a couple of hours. That would take me weeks. Must practice more!
And Hawkmonger Savage Savage is a great idea. Would work story-wise as well.
Really good stuff as ever
Another bad pun sorry! Please allow me to present the RoarMaster Mk. 0.

He-he. Nearly covered my laptop in coffee when I realised what I was looking at. Great work.
So many great entries this month. Just wanted to say well done all on your efforts, I'm really enjoying these!

A last minute quick sketch from me this month. My entry features Devlin Waugh inventing personal grooming back in 2000BC (Before Combs).
