We currently have a droid out at the India Comic Con in Delhi and one of the things that's cropped up in conversation is that Judge Dredd strips were apparently translated into Bengali (and possibly Hindi) in the 1990s - we wondered if anyone had ever come across copies, or whether it was just a bootleg?
Mini Lion comics reprinted One Eyed Jack in Sri Lanka, and I think its in Bengali, that might be a place to start?
Sorry for the double post,I think it was this site I pulled that info off before, http://www.comicology.in/search/label/Tamil%20Comics
Nothing on Dredd there, The is bits on the 13th Floor etc, the author might be worth contacting.
Judge Dredd in Bengali? Wow. That's news for me.
I follow a Bengali comic publisher on Facebook, I'll ask them, see if they know anything about it.
Slightly irrelevant but I had some Dredd in Greek previously. Appeared licensed.
Not quiet what you are looking for but interesting none the less, from Greece.

I found a mention of Dredd in India on this Wiki page, it would seem to suggest that Dredd was published in some form by 'Lion Comics' in India.

This short thread is seriously one of the most interesting ones...
Be great to see definitive proof of a copy, legit or bootleg.
There so many questions about this sort of thing................ :D
Dinosty and Slaine (99 on) in Polish anyone?
Dredd in Serbian (13 on)?
Dredd Top Dog (95) in Chinese? (maybe Mandarin?)
Dan Dare (79) in Serbo-Croat Broj 196 EKS?
Various French stuff in the Sunny Sun - MON Journal.
And that's some of the Dodgy (prob not the Serbian) stuff I know about.
Loads of late 80's/90's licensed stuff (some stories like Button Man published decades before being released in English) in French / German / Dutch / Italian / Flemish(?) / Danish / Swedish / Norwegian / Australian and of the course the Septic stuff.
Other late 90's/00's stuff in Polish (ZNAKomics) / Greek (O2H Books).
Molchy babes, any news on which of these were legal and which are moody?
The more the merrier I say as a collector.......
PS Anyone with non-English versions that they would like to sell just PM me as it's a favourite part of my collection.
Cheers
Got a Serbian mate - will ask him if he's ever seen any. He lives in USA but other than his parents n his sister rest of the family still in Serbia (he lived in Germany during the war in Serbia then USA after that for Dad's work).
If he can get his hands on any during trips to the old country I am sure he will be happy to.
Messaging him ;)
