Any idea if it's going to be a jointed figure or a maquette?
that not very man... as the bum is too small?
It's Dredd not Kardashian.
Looks pretty close to current McMahon, but even that's going to divide people - a safer bet would probably be early 80s version.
You're never going to satisfy everyone.
any idea how big this will be?

His Tank Girl book of 2012/2013 is so lovely. The colours just sublime. And the recent Marriage of Hellboy stuff likewise. Scrape up the coffers to get him back Tharg.

And yet, those feet are far too big for a lady! ;)
Those ankles are like twigs!
Newer pic of the Dredd coming from Unbox Industries. Very modern-day McMahon vibe, in fact, it looks LOADS like my commission. It'll make a great companion to the Planet Replicas statue...

Now that looks just superb! Total McMahon.
Any idea of a price for this Pete?
Buying it. Don't care if it's "childish" or "immature". Thats a bloody work of art.
That's a bit special, that.
That eagle is just astoundingly mental. Love the detail in it.
That is proper sexy!
I'll have one of those, or maybe two! :)

No idea. I have their Salad Fingers figure and he's brilliant! He's 1/12 scale and was £20.
I'm really hoping this is 1/6!

Eagle detail
I'm gonna get two, and paint the leathers on one black, just because.
I don't do action figures but that is so crazy good I might make an exception, especially around the £20 mark.
Bloody lovely.
Stunning! I really hope it's poseable!
Well, if it's around the £20 mark, then this will be a most excellent purchase. TBH, i'm gonna be happy paying whatever it costs (within reason, of course...).
Is this image the finished product though? Not sure about the purple Lawgiver, and the turquoise uniform, :eh:
But the overall build is simply fantastic. I suspect most peeps on here have been praying for such a Dredd sculpt as this for yonks...
And the Planet Replica figure to come soon as well.

Me to, but looking at it i'm not sure.
That looks great! Any ideas how much it'll be....?
Sold! Looks great. Thanks for the update, Pete!
hmm - I can see what they're going for, but the modern McMahon style just doesn't seem to translate into 3D. Don't like it.
I FUCKING LOVE THIS!
Checking out their website, the stuff they produce is usually in quite limited numbers?
So this maybe quite hard to track down?
The Lawgiver is a good match for the full scale Planet Replicas one.
Hey fellas, I asked Unbox about the size and this is what they said "Hi Pete we are still considering the height but we think around 25cm.Articulation is an issue & will be limited due to the massive shoulder pads! We hope the fans support what we hope is the first in a series of "artist editions" Bisley Joe Pineapples & Bolland Death are being cranked digitally as I write this!"
Good Grud that's exciting!!!

Sorry Pete. Guess I've been living in the States too long now. Haha! 25cm? What's that, about 10/11 inches...?
Will my 3AA discount work?
Damm.
All apologies. I'm not on Instagram so this is just a screen grab...

Have to say, and it's just my opinion, but even though the original lawgiver made little sense in terms of real-life functionality, it really swats the Mk 2 away in terms of coolness.
I'm not totally convinced by this as yet. Rest assured I'll buy it though!
M.
Had a wander through the Unbox Industries instagram this morning and saw these tasty images:
Lawgivers:

Joe!

Exciting!
Nice! :)
I wonder which round they've decided not to include for the Lawgiver!
It's okay, the Dredd penguin has it covered - he's got seven settings on his Lawgiver.
Quote from: Pete Wells on 23 November, 2014, 09:12:02 AM

I hadn't realised the photo was flipped until I just noticed the backwards ABC on the scabbard.
Is it just me or does Joe look like he's wearing chaps and a G-string?
Hey all! I had an email from Dan Willett from Unbox Industries today - he said "I just saw the 2000AD forum discussing why our Lawgiver Mk1 has only five settings & for some reason I cannot register an account!
It was a sly nod to a piece of art by Mick!"

So there you go pedants, the mystery is solved!

Unbox have some other amazing
2000 AD-related products in the pipeline. Expect some announcements in the near future...
Now that's how you do a stylised figure. So many flavours of arsom.
Hmm, Not my cup of tea, but happy to see some iterations of Dredd out there which actually appear to be based on 2000ad artists versions.
Here's to more of this sort of thing.
Dunk!
WANT!!!!!
Does anyone know an estimated release date for this?
July SIP.
It should be up for pre-order in Feb after/around the time of the New York Toyfair (Feb 14-17).
If you are at the show, the figure will be on display at the Dark Horse booth (they are distributing it in the US).
Hopefully shipping in July.
Fantastic, thanks both! I love it and will certainly be trying to get one.
Any info on price? May just stick with the Mezco one and Death from 3A. Can't find any videos or many pictures of it which is a shame.
I'm not normally in for things like this but....me wants!
Latest info taken from instagram...
Dark Horse will be handling distribution in North America.
Diamond Comic Distributors are supplying the indy comic shops.
Forbidden Planet & the 2000adonline shop will also have stock.
Also, the figure will ship with three different gun hands & magnets in his feet, so he can be posed on the badge!
One good Judge-Boot kick and those tiny ankles would snap like pretzels!
very tight boots?
Looks like he skipped 'leg day' at the gym.
Sorry, not for me. It's poor to say the least.
It may not be to your taste, (which is fair enough), but it's not 'poor' if it's meant to look like that. Which it obviously is.

As M.I.K says - by what standard is it 'poor?' This has been an obvious McMahon homage all along, and in that sense at least they've
nailed it!
I think its great. Looks exactly like it came out of the last mcmahon dredd strip printed in the prog. Complete thumbs up from me. ......As long as i can afford it then I'll certainly be buying!

It's poor in my opinion.
Others like it, and that's great.
I didn't like the Picasso painting that sold at auction recently but someone liked it enough to spend $179 million on it. I thought that was poor too.
It's all about personal opinions, and I was under the impression that a forum was the ideal place to voice those personal opinions.
Not into figures but that is (another) fantastic McMahon version of Dredd. My antipathy to figures is probably to do with their 'blandness' but this screams 'McMahon'. Both eagles have real attitude :) Just when I felt the Mk II lawgiver was a bit jarring I noticed the Mk I alongside. Nice.
Whatever else this is, can't go along with 'poor to say the least'. Sorry.

Latest news on this is that it'll be out 'towards the end of the year'.
Respect to the designers, but I can't help thinking the shoulder eagle is just a bit too big perhaps?
We do seem to be blighted by oversized Eagle pads at the moment.
It looks like an Ian Gibson Eagle to me.

I rather like this...any prices listed?
Not as yet, apparently. But I imagine that'll be revealed soon. Just for an idea; Anyone like to guesstimate a price for this? Fairly pricey? Not too bad?
But a lovely looking figure, and 100% McMahon. Very interested in this. And we also have the Planet Replica Dredd coming soon as well (slightly delayed from it's March/April release date..).
Fan's of Mick's Dredd are being well served of late.
hoping its not too much the price of the three a and mezco offerings have put me off, never mind the earache I'd get off the good lady who thinks £20 is obscene for the star wars black series stuff!
she also thinks £6.99 for a novel is way to much but then the last book she bought was probably in 1982
Something that popped up today ;)

And before you ask, no it's not available yet!

Very easy to abstain when there's.... no picture :) That was packaging only...
Nice blurb though. But is Zombo a 'hero'? Lazy blurbing?
Is this going to be the Zombo figure that was seen at Free Comic Book Day?

Phew found the right thread. The McMahon Dredd figure has turned up in the latest Dark Horse solicitations
QuoteJudge Dredd Artist Edition Vinyl Statue: Mike McMahon Version
On sale Nov 25
12" high on a 1" base
$129.99
Dark Horse has joined with Together+ to bring the North American market a stunning sculptural interpretation of Britain's longest-running comics protagonist— the faceless embodiment of cold justice from Mega-City One: Judge Dredd.
Several of the world's great graphic artists have interpreted Judge Dredd, but his first published appearance was by Mike McMahon.
The figure stands 12" high on a 1" base and is intensively detailed, using a combination of PVC and ABS materials. Its high-end production succeeds in pushing the envelope for the vinyl figure category, giving new meaning to the term "execution." Packaged in a stunning window box, the figure is a must for serious collectors.

I was wondering when this bugger was gonna go online. March is empty, so that's good for the wallet
Was this one also supposed to come to 2000ad's shop?
They've said pre-orders today, with a February shipping period. That was on instagram, with some cryptic words that has a few of us wondering what else they are on about!
Unbox website says "Coming soon" - Click! (http://store.unboxindustries.info/product/judge-dredd-30cm-figurine)
It seems slightly odd that the face looks normal given the enlarged/withered proportions of other parts of the figure.
I have seen that style before, but not for a while.
I really like that gaunty lanky exaggerated cartoon look. I'm glad its not the main way he is usually portrayed, but as an occasional appearance in the Prog in a tale with humourous leanings and for items like this, it's great!
It's available to pre-order NOW!
Did you order one CF? What was the damage for postage?
Crap, I'm in China now... Cant order from unbox shop... Cant get to the purchase page! I hope they still have it for when i am back home on 29th.
I did get one and the total, including p&p was £77'ish, once converted. I think the postage was $25.
Cheers, thanks John.

If you ask me those legs are just a bit weird and a strange design choice... well as strange a design course as you might imagine when you've already made the strange (but wonderful) choice to pluck the 'Visible Man' from his relative obsurity. ... not that anyone did ask me.
It's meant to look like a toy from the '70s, which it kind of does, which prompted a vague recollection in my brain of an actual toy from the 1970s which you could see inside the guts of, which led me to this...

I do get why this style's a little too much for some. His hands and ankles are so dainty it's hilarious but really, did we ever think the day would come when we'd have two different versions of McMahon's Dredd? Good times, folks. My wallet disagrees, but good times.
^ That.
A cracking figure, and yes, it's flippin' huge, int it!
Had totally decided not to get this.....thin ankles.....couldn't get past those skinny ass ankles. Nope, not buying it, not at all....uh-uh.
Guess a while back....some drunken evening......I decided I was getting it, oops!
So I was quite surprised this morning to find that I had a package awaiting collection at the post office.....and you know what? It's actually really quite nice! Big, as others have mentioned, and really nicely detailed with the option of the 3 different lawgivers. If only all drunken impulse buys were this good! :D

Wow! Great photos and video there, Commando Forces!
I am really looking forward in receiving this statue!! But... it seems my package is very slow. Still no update since 9th of march. Either its shipped by foot from Hong Kong or its stuck in some custom somewhere. sigh...
Patience~~ Patience~~
Great video!
Great work as usual CF. The dial on your 'oversized' Mk 1 Lawgiver (the one that only goes up to 5) looks overly-scratched out. I've only had a quick gander at mine but I'm sure it was much clearer. I'll double-check and post a picture when I'm back at home.
CF, here's a comparison shot of your Lawgiver with mine.
Interesting stuff! Gives it a little bit of individuality ;)
I'd like to have the MaMahon Slaine figure done next. Just don't let anyone know it was me who asked, because then it would never happen.
Would have loved to have brought the Visable Man even if it looks so creepy.
They've shown the packaging for Judge Death and they hope to get him out by Halloween!
Really like the look of this and would love to get hold of one. ....but with pre orders of dredd on lawmaster, judge fear and judge mortis this will have to wait. It breaks my heart......
Yeah, just saw that CF! Looks great already - I love what they've done with the packaging on Dredd and Death.
A large parcel from Hong Kong has just been delivered; I wonder what it could be? :o
Finally got mine after swedish customs/post demanded they should get some for the hazzle of checking it.
Love it! And the box is fantastic!
Great figure! Cant wait to see more of Death!
