That's probably just due to one of the droids forgetting, so he'll be off to Mek-Quake soon
Slap me for being daft but will this only be available through the 2000AD shop?

The paperback one will be available through retailers too once released. Dunno about the hardback, given that it's limited edition...
They may be available through other retailers eventually but I just couldn't live with Pete myself, if I missed out on the Limited Edition and seeing as the other was available, it would be just plain rude if I ddn't buy them both :D

The paperback is on the US Amazon site but not the UK one yet. Jock is listed as the only author.

Thanks for the reply. I have never purchased anything through the shop before but I do have an Amazon account so I will just hold off until it (eventually) appears there. I look forward to a review in the Cellar. :D
Just looked at that release date on that Amazon link, just a few days before the Wedding Anniversary. Looks like Caz has bought these for me now
And a signed HB version ordered. Marvellous!
Cant wait to see this.
Just ordered the ltd edition- it does say signed by Jock in the blurb on the order page, I placed the order in a hurry on mobile so didn't spot the signed part either.
very interested to see all the work done- if the script was illustrated when I could have seen it, that was very early on in the production so it will be amazing to spot what made it in, what didn't etc.
hopefully ltd numbers will be low, otherwise jock will get real bad writers cramp :)
From the 2000 AD panel at ECCC, Mike says that it's going to include Alex's original script, alongside Jock's storyboards and concept art, plus various other images.

At Emerald ComicCon Jock hinted at preliminary art he did for the opening of the 'sequel' during pre-production on DREDD, so who knows, maybe there's a bit more that in the book.

Things from over the weekend. Our DREDD art book has been announced - details and pre order the signed hardback here http://shop.2000adonline.com/categories/dredd_screenplay ...
I think that answers the question about is it signed
Mine is ordered on the strength. Just the wait now.
Fuuu is there a cheaper way to get the Hardcover? The shipping to MC2 is THIRTY POUNDS :'( :'(
I mean....I've probably already spent a beyond ridiculous amt on 2000AD since January but the shipping is almost equal to the product itself :(
Got my limited edition and a pester power 37th Anniversary t-shirt to boot. Definitely wont flog this for a profit like those shameless people did with the Zenith Ltd Ed.
The trick here is they haven't said limited to how many - speculators beware!
F it, I just went and bought it even with the shipping cost.
One day I'm going to regret how much I've spent on 2000AD, but that's not today  My credit card even went through this time - normally I have to call the fraud dept first, but I guess they finally learned haha
sighhhh ::)

I take it the hardback is totally gone now? Not been keeping up with things the last couple of days so just ordered the paperback without realizing there was an alternative!
I've missed the boat haven't I? Sigh.
It's not really a limited run like Zenith, so I don't suppose there's anything stopping them doing a second print-run, they certainly seemed to sell quickly enough.
It depends whether they think there's enough of a market for the hardback once the paperback is out there.

It IS a limited run and as things stand (and there's no reason to suspect the situation will change) there will be no reprint of the hardback. Or the paperback, for that matter. It's a very different kettle of fish to the Zenith books.

Ordered - cost £76+ for the hardback and shipping to US, but I've been wanting this book to come out for so long it had to be done!
Really intrigued to see the 'sequel' dev stuff - presumably this would include the concept images of Chopper that Jock did.

It was on a few places, but I'm sure the fb page said they had some left (but were selling quickly) after the thrillmail.
Ah- it was announced via the Make A Dredd Sequel Newsletter first on Monday, the 2000 AD newsletter Wednesday. It was shared on social media pretty much before the announcement as well.
I pitty Jocks wrist. Much cause for innuendo me thinks....

Phew! Thought I'd missed out! I had assumed that the 500 HB Ltd ed was because they were signed and that there'd be a (cheaper) unsigned print run. See how dangerous assumptions can be!

PPS. Then saw the very thing in Waterstone's, too late. C'est la vie.
has anyone received theirs yet? It's been so long since I ordered it I forgot all about it
As far as I know it's still on for Mid-July, although Jock tweeted he would be doing some sketch editions that would go out a couple of weeks before that.
Sketch editions? Are they the hardbacks that went up in the 2000AD shop way back when? Or something differnet?

They're copies Jock has (which he's personalising). I believe they're separate to the ones from the shop.
I had actually forgotten about it until 2 days ago.
Spending money and then forgetting about stuff isn't good :P

This book is the dogs! :D
JOCK is sketching 5 extra special editions of this and has shown one of them on twitter.

Will these books with the sketches just go out randomly or will they be sold seperately?
Admirable indeed....
I believe they are a separate limited run that Jock is selling. The image posted is 1/5 - not sure if that's all of them or he's doing a different type of sketch for another run.
I can confirm that he is only doing those 5 and they will be available via his store!

I was trying to remember what it was that made it special apart from the squiggle :) because it was so long ago I ordered it!
But hardback being the thing, that's right :)
Number 14 for me.
So are these landing in people's homes already? I thought they weren't out till next week?
Yes they are, as photos are on Facebook :'(
Mine arrived today and am very impressed. The layouts and visuals are stunning. I particularly like the pic on the centre page!
Is ok to post a photo of a couple of pages or will Tharg set Mek Quake on me?
Post them up!
Hopefully get mine tomorrow then. Tidy!

Sorry, my iPAD is creating photo files that are too big for the forum's limit. My limited edition has a MC1 cityscape.
I have a Pdf of it for review purposes. This is a perfect example of why paper is best... this will be an amazing book to hold.
And no, there aren't digital versions to buy.
I wasn't given permission to preview any of it (I also didn't ask, maybe I should have) but a review is up telling you why I think it is good. I even give tips on how to read it ;)
Review on my blog if you want to read it (http://judgetutorsemple.wordpress.com/2014/07/10/dredd-the-illustrated-script-visuals-alex-garland-jock/).
Is the screenplay close to what's in the film? No Dredd giving Anderson a kiss of life or such?
It isn't a draft, it's the final copy - Jock's art is prior to casting so you'll see interesting differences in what some characters look like. It isn't all the same angles that an artist may have used if he'd done the art after the film. I should stress the 'may'.
Mine arrived today, via Yodel.
Very nice looking from what I saw.
I expect my copy will take another week or two to reach the states, looking forward to it though!
No sign of it today. Maybe tomorrow....

Not that it ever was a question if I where to buy it or not. Will order it quite soon. Will make for a nice companion piece to the film :)
Got an email the other day from FP to inform me that due to a fuck-up, the hardback edition I was expecting will actually be a paperback. Arsebiscuits.
And my HB copy arrived this morning! (Number 108/500 for those that are interested..)
Even a cursory thumb through reveals this is a stunning look book, and looks set to become a bit of a favourite. I'll not read it just yet, but its jumped to the next in line in my reading pile. Or maybe it'll be a case of 'sod the reading pile'...
This was the book that many of us wished for, but maybe doubted we'd actually get to see, so a big thank you to Rebellion, Jock, and of course Alex, for getting it all together and making it happen.
Great news Spikes, still hopeful that the one I ordered through forbiddenplanet.co.uk will come through (also had the email from FP.com like Noisybast)
Otherwise I'll be trying to get one on the aftermarket at a no doubt inflated price :(

only saw the paper back.
Shame, cheers :)
wonder if it would be worth them releasing the jock bits (coloured) as a stand alone gn tie in?
I seem to recall Jock considering it to be more of an internal document and not being finished enough to be used as a standalone comic. (Or something along those lines)
I think colouring it and releasing it as a comic might be trying to turn it into something it wasn't really designed to be.
I agree Steve. If it gets repackaged with anything it would be best leaving it as it is.
I see your point but then I still would buy it! we don't get enough jock these days.
Mine arrived on Saturday morning along with the new Meg and weekly prog which also popped through the letterbox so all in all a bumper 2000 weekend! After flicking through the whole thing, it is quite the book. Very interesting to see the original script, some bits are better, some are not compared to the finished film, could have done with some expanded ancedotes as the few that are in the book are extremely interesting to get a feel for the creative process.
Well worth it!
I had an hour and a half round trip in the car to my nearest Yodel depot, but I finally got mine. No.11, if you're into that kind of thing. ;)
'Tis a thing of beauty.

See now, when you live on a different continent, 3 hours seems like not so far away. It's all relative! :) :)
(People also regularly commute 2 hours each way to work here where I live, so I probably have a pretty messed up sense of what's far)Surely someone super duper nice in the area can buy it for you and mail it to you.

True, my wife commutes (and I used to) for about 2 hours each way, but I suppose it's easier when you are being paid at the end of it :D
While in the past I may well have made the journey, I can't justify sticking my 2 year old into a car seat for the best part of 7 hours to go and buy a book (or spending £70 on a tank of diesel) :(

Still waiting for my copy to arrive. :(
Managed to order one from Travelling Man in Leeds to be sent, excellent service from them as usual. I'm happy now :)
Great news that you've finally snagged a copy, Inked!
That's mine (no. 46) just arrived! Lovely looking book right enough. Plan to read it all tomorrow, and then I'll post a review on my blog, I suppose.
Buggering shite. I could have sword I pre-ordered the Hardcover, I've been getting hope, where's my package as all around me seem to be showing theirs off.
So I checked the web shop and there it is-sitting in my basket-now sold out. I was flush when I (thought I'd) bought it but skint at the mo so I'm going to have to settle for the softcover version.
Arses!
Whoo hoo! Just ordered myself the hardback from FP! :D

Cheers, can't wait to receive it
Ordered the hardback via ebay for £35+£5pp, thanks to a heads up from @jock4twenty
Already own the paperback but something about owning the signed hardback made me splash out again, especially as it was cheaper than the rrp
I'm guessing this product isn't going to shoot up in value anytime soon...
