Arthur Wyatt has announced that the sequel will be called UPRISE and it will be in the Meg later this year and then collected for the US edition. It's going to be slightly longer and the art is going to be by Paul Davidson.
This was talked about on the 2000 AD panel at ECCC
Damned shame to lose Flint on this but from what I've seen Paul Davidson is OK.
Paul Davidson? His artwork is okay as one of his artworks;

In my books Davidson is more than just OK and represents one of the best talents to hit Dredd in a while. Yes, I don't even have an issue with the seemingly dislocated shoulders! Can't wait for this.
Whoops :O I was looking at a different Paul Davidson - the Marvel one (http://www.pauldavidsonart.com/portfolio.html).
..unless... they are the same Paul Davidson....

Pretty sure they're the same chap, the one who drew Dwarflords for Warhammer Monthly many moons ago...
Cheers
Jim
Ach - well he's not that bad. His figurework is a bit shonky but it could be a whole lot worse.
...he's no Flint though :'(
Wyatt and Davidson are the team on the current Dredd strip in The Megazine. Boy does a decent Dredd:

Davidson has worked for Marvel for a few years now, including stints on X-Factor & X-Men Legacy (the former being particularly good).
I think he's a good fit for Thargs stable, and I quite like his interpretation of Dredd (even bought a few pages from the man himself).
Flint is top dog of course, but one wonders if Tharg chose Davidson specifically for this project due to his having a higher 'profile' than Flint state-side.

Makes sense, dunnit? I know most of the US comics I own are by folk I know from UK comics or folk who've worked with folk I know from UK comics. Plus, fun as it was to see Flint's incredible take on the movie world, I'm not sure a second film tie-in would have been the best use of his limited time and prodigous talent.
If this turns out to be about drug dealers I might cry. :'(
Looking forward to it though. Paul Davidson has quite a clean line style compared to Jock or Master Flint so I'm looking forward to seeing his spin on the uniform. Those smaller shoulder pads should give him less bother as well.
Flint is grand of course but every Dredd artist recently has been top-notch. Been spoiled by Dyer, Davidson, PJ, etc. recently...
Grab a page of Davidson original Dredd art at a bargain...http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/krakenart
Already snagged a Judge Joyce page.
I talk a little bit about the Dredd movie, Underbelly and Uprise here:

(That and waffle madly trying to explain Tharg tales)
Any word on the release date for this (which progs it's being released in)?
Megazine 350:

Excellent! Thanks!
The line-up for Meg 350 is making my eyes water (could be a bit of hayfever too, mind).
This should be the kind of comic that doesn't even need Molch-R to buy 6000 extra copies and burn them in his back garden.
Nice teaser, courtesy of the Make A Dredd Sequel Facebook page.
Art's looking mighty tasty! :)

I would love it if Dredd: Uprising was in B&W but since that kind of thing is looked down upon in the States, for some unfathomable reason, I guess full-colour will have to do. Also, loving the big meaty handlebars on that Lawmaster.
Stomm! Uprise not Uprising. Drokking sausage fingers. >:(
That looks great!

I agree, BW makes for some of the best comic art IMO. Charles Burns and Love and Rockets...
That looks VERY promising. I really hope we see it soon (Meg 300 in August, I think), as well as a collected edition of all Urban-verse comics as well.
Previews have it, so get your orders in ;)

Sexy
What about the cover :-[
Oh yes it looks awesome! 2012 Judge looks great on Dredd!
Looks better in black and white:

That black and white one is aces, but so is the colour cover.
Well, i cant review this (Is there a review thread for this?) as its only just plonked through my letterbox, but a quick gander reveals a handsome looking comic. Rebellion are getting these so right, arent they?
The team were doing a signing at FP today and I was ready to get mine signed (the queue was very short) but my Son was feeling poorly so we had to go.
Such as shame.
