THE GREAT ART RAFFLE 2014 ( final date for entry will be 12 pm 28th June 2014 )
There are two pages (so far), with the possibility of more being added, in the raffle.
Anyone wishing to be entered in the raffle simply needs to join the group and leave a comment in the relevant thread. We will allocate a number to each comment; only those who leave a comment will be entered. One entry per person. The Random Number Generator's decision is final. No squabbling at the back. Good luck everyone!
We would like to suggest that anyone wishing to enter the raffle also make a donation of £2 which will go to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (http://cbldf.org) - this donation is completely voluntary and will not affect your chances of winning.
Anyone wishing to donate should message John Burdis as he is the most honest man in the 2000ad world...
The page that Dale Jackson has dug out is a massive Judge Dredd B/W by Colin MacNeil and I am donating is a Judge Dredd B/W by Paul Marshall. If anyone else would like to donate a page or 2000ad goodies, drop me a line.
Come on over and join in the fun!
This should take you straight to the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/552634324826454/
When it's all over I will send the money off to Comic Book Legal Defense Fund and post up screen grabs of the receipts and whatnot.
Word is that one of Tharg's very own art droids will be donating a little something to the raffle...

That's a closed group — wouldn't be more effective to put the details up on a publicly accessible page?
Cheers
Jim
This is a publically accessible page Jim! That's why I put the details on here.
All people need to do is put a request to join the group and hey presto. It's got over a thousand members who all asked to join, so I can't see the problem.

Fair enough. I'm not having a go — I'm a staunch supporter of the CBLDF and I know people who've directly benefited from it. I was just wondering whether the raffle might have more 'reach' if a pre-condition wasn't that people join a group they might otherwise not be interested in joining.
I'm absolutely not suggesting anything untoward, I was just asking a question.
Cheers
Jim
Join the group, enter the raffle, leave the group!
Closing date for entry to the raffle is June 28th. Still plenty of time for folk to join in...
The two pages of original art in the raffle have now been joined by this superb one-off created, especially for us, by the immensely talented Pye Parr. Join the group, make a comment, make a voluntary contribution, cross your fingers!
Just to let you know how it's all going I shall copy and paste from my facebook page and add a few pictures ;)
Do you want to win some amazing artwork from 2000 AD artists, daft question really, of course you do!
Then join the 2000AD comic artwork community and read how, it's quite simple, post a reply in the thread (you can't miss it) and if you can also donate some money to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund. All the instructions are there in the opening blurb by Dale Jackson.
Just to get you excited, the artwork to be given away at the moment is as follows:-
Dredd by Colin MacNeil donated by Dale Jackson,
Dredd by Carlos Ezquerra,
Dredd by Paul Marshall donated by Mark Spencer,
Ro-Jaws by Pye Parr,
Slaine by Nick Percival Art,
Boo Cook Goodie Bag,
Tiernen Trevallion Print (with possible sketch)
with more to come
So as you can see, there is some gorgeous work on display and again this shows why the 2000 AD community is so drokkin' awesome!
Many thanks to the artists and fans for donating to this worthy cause!

Now, if this little lot doesn't get you joining the group and donating to charity then you're all dead to me. Dead I say!

Sadly, not even an Ezquerra Dredd can make me join Facebook.
One extra bit of info about the Carlos sketch :o :o :o :o he will sign and dedicate this piece he has done for the 2000AD sketchbook!
Thanks CF, I forgot to mention that!

Me too.
It's almost worth creating a dummy account for, though.
Okay chaps I have asked the admins of the page if it would be possible for people without facebook to partake and the answer is yes.
If you want to enter then you can paypal a donation to my account (john.burdis@hotmail.co.uk) and once that has arrived I will post your name onto the thread to go into the hat.
Once the event is closed I will post up the total donation and also show a confirmation that it has been sent/received by the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund
If that's okay with you then send your donation and don't forget to send it as a gift or pay the fees and any amount over £2 would be okay, it's up to you :D
Cheers John (and Mark), donation sent to CF's Paypal.
I shall put you on the thread as your forum name if that's okay (so I can keep track of it) ;)
Cool with me CF.
You are confirmed in the draw and thanks for the donation. Good luck
Hats off to everyone putting so much effort into organising this and the fantastic donations of work and art by the creators as well.
Another 2000ad full of pride moment... only slightly diluted by my evil desire to WIN THEM ALL!
Yes, I'd like to applaud everyone who has put in their time and effort, and donated art for this. Good stuff Guys - You know who you are!
And please if you haven't already, then send a couple of quid over to the CBLDF via Mr Burdis, and let's get the total higher. I know its not compulsory for the raffle, but its all for a good cause.
I've PayPalled Mr Burdis
You are now confirmed into the draw and thanks for the donation. Good luck
I missed this thread completely... I'm on the Facebook Group and entered already so I must have filterred this thread out on auto...
So now there is a duplicate pimpage thread...
Boo Cook goodie bag??? Cool!
Hi,
Just wondering about the raffle. It says to only enter once - does one entry put you into the draw for all of the art or is it the case that I should put a comment on each piece seperately?
Sorry if this is a daft question...
Regardless of how many comments you make, you get entered for the draw once - all art goes to the winner, as far as I'm aware.
@The Bissler - one comment is one entry. Maximum number of entries is one but you can make as many comments as you like. To be entered for the raffle just make sure you comment in the thread headed The Great Art Raffle 2014 (or whatever I called it) that shows all of the prizes as they come in! Hope that helps?
And speaking of prizes: this fabulous piece has just been donated by David Pugh
This really is a magnificent competition, some gorgeous pieces... :o
Hope you get plenty of donations as the amazing prizes warrant it. Good luck to everyone!
An A3 print of this beauty has just been donated to the raffle by Tiernen Travallion.
Raffle news - A sneak peak into the, now infamous, Boo Cook Goodie Bag: a page from 'Gunheadz' and a Dredd sketch (both of which he will sign and dedicate to the winner). The Goodie Bag is also said to contain, in Boo's own words, "some other tat"!

And Dave Taylor has just donated this beautiful Anderson page from the 'Big Robots' story he illustrated in the Meg. Cheers Dave!
Two more pieces just come in! The first, a lovely 'special for the raffle' Dredd by Dave Taylor; the second, a lovely Simon Fraser Dante page from 'Sympathy for the Devil'! What are you waiting for?

We're on a roll today! Tiernen Trevallion has sent this original Absalom sketch for the raffle!
Amazing contributions... That this is all going to one lucky soul boggles the mind. Tharg's Droids really are an extremely generous bunch! :)
Mick Cassidy has kindly donated a print of this (but please note it will NOT be this signed one!)
Wow well the pot for this one if certainly staggering now. Seems silly to pick out favourites but how glorious is that Dante page?
Are you in the draw Colin?
Ever fancied owning a Steve Yeowell Zenith original? This is your chance to get your grubby little paws on this topical beauty!

Hope so I did comment way back.
Good man; if you commented, then you're in!
Just asking; Will the winner be announced on here as well?
Yes
Please may I be entered.
Many thanks.
Of course smiffy; just drop CF a donation for the charity and he'll put a comment on the thread on your behalf! ;)
I dropped Mr Burdis a donation on June 20th at 20:37. When he has a moment, I'm sure he will post aq comment on my behalf. Regards.
I shall do that right now!
I hope you got my payment and message a while back, CF.
Cheers
Jim
Just to confirm both smiffy and Jim are the draw for an instant art collection. Good luck!
Double confirmed! You are both now on the list, thanks chaps!
Fantastic. Thank you, gentlemen. Good cause, and your efforts supporting it are much appreciated.
Cheers
Jim
Hello! I sent a paypal payment to Judge Burdis on the 18th.
But it looks like I've been having problems with my messages.
Can I confirm if you've received okay and that I'm entered?
Thanks for all your efforts in organising this. Brilliant thing to do.
Your name hasn't appeared on the list yet... I'll liaise with CF
RaggedMan you are in the draw for this collection of pure, unadulterated thrills
You are scholars and a gents. Thanks both!
I'm investing in protective goggles, gauntlets and tongs just in case I get lucky.
Deadline for entries is midday tomorrow folks; don't miss out. If you donate directly to John Burdis please remember to include your forum name in a message with your paypal payment so it's nice and easy to keep track...
And a late entry to the pile of arty goodness - the new Doctor Who by a Mr Henry Flint (anyone heard of him? No? Anyone?) Disclaimer: Mr Flint's fingers do not constitute part of the prize.
Winner to be announced shortly...
And the winner is...
(drumroll please)

Wakefield Carter
Congratulations Sir!
Mr. Wakefield Carter was unavailable for comment.
Sources claim a large stack of original 2000AD artwork he already owned may have toppled over and crushed his legs.
Only messin- congrats Wake!
Now normally I'd a bitter twisted man, unable to find any pleasure in the joy of others... but since I've been to Barney twice today I'll have to congratulate the man... well through gritted teeth!
Congrats to Mr Carter.
Thanks to everybody to donated art and the organisers.
Thanks for organising the raffle!
