Did anyone else notice the inferences in last progs episode of Slaine ? I'm talking about the bit where Moloch is going to sacrifice the three small boys and rants on quite laciviously about what he's "going to do to them" before he burns them alive, and how this will make thier tears of fear even sweeter. I didn't really pick up on this fully until later on when Moloch says to Slaine that he only raped Niamh to taste her fear. Now this may just be me reading shit into things, but the innuendo is certainly there, I wonder if this was Mills intention, because if it was then I think he has single handedly created one of the most sinister and down-right nasty villians I have ever seen in a comic. Personally I cant wait to see Slaine smash him up a bit.
Y-you.... you mean you don't buy-into the certain-death cliffhanger? But.... surely Slaine can't get out of *this* one?
"surely Slaine can't get out of *this* one?"
Yeah, right - about as surely as Bond couldn't get out of the Arctic cliff[backslash]solar death ray[backslash]shite CGI tidal wave Cliffhanger in Die Another Day.
Well, you asked for one periodically!
WH-THANKKA!
Hehehe.
Ha I'll bet it'll be like King of the Rocket Men and book two will start with Slaine and Moloch still fighting and not even started to fall...
He, he! You dah man Gary!
Book II will begin with Slaine and Moloch falling through a hole in time. Moloch is reincarnated as Michael Jackson around the mid to late eighties, hence Mr. Jackson's drastic change of appearence between Thriller and Bad, and his development of an unhealthy interest in children.
Now this may just be me reading shit into things, but the innuendo is certainly there
Moloch's also got a big smile and a teardrop. Evil clown subtext! You've got me at it now ;)
Nah. I just assumed he was being yer classic demon, in that everything he does revolves around feeding on negative emotions. He manipulates events and taunts people in such a way as to get the biggest kick, and regards the severity of his nasty deeds as incidental (i.e. trivial). Which for me makes him all the more evil.
I like to think Moloch is a sort of re-boot to what Elfric should have been, bearing comparison with Judge Death's recent reinvention. A case of getting rid of the interminable (often camp) arch-villain, and giving the readers someone they can really hate!
>>Yeah, right - about as surely as Bond couldn't get out of the Arctic cliff[backslash]solar death ray[backslash]shite CGI tidal wave Cliffhanger in Die Another Day.
But I liked that bit. I certainly made me chuckle, so over the top and togue in cheek was it.
Yeah, I loved it too - it was just classically daft, but the CGI was piss poor, I heared they used a playstation 2 for the tidal wave graphic. I mean, come on, playstation 2's are all well and good but you'd think the producers would have pushed the boat out a bit more for Bond's 40th aniversary.
Playstation 2! Hahahaaa! Not even an X-box...
Jeez...
JK. (consoleless and proud of it)
Should have used a Gamecube.
I'm disturbed to find that the net is infested with these so-called "kiddie fiddlers".
Karne: get your coat.
