Agreed! Best special cover since the mid-nineties I reckon!
Sexy! Like Marvel Zombies covers!

Ooooh! That's rather nice!
Look forward to picking that up! :)
Wondered what that was growing out of the side of Zom-Thargs head, ten I realised it was Rogue!
Lovely cover. Really looking forward to some more Defoe, but the entire line up sounds promising.
the important bit: 2000 AD Winter Special, which will be released on October 29th :D
Lovely! I enjoyed the Summer Special so much, and I'm delighted to see this follow-up.
Hey, do you reckon the lawgiver palm-recognition thingamy works on decaying zombie flesh?
Cover & line-up look great.
Templesmith is a great choice to get some USA coverage (Paul Pope next Tharg?). His just finished 'The Squidder' is a pretty 2000AD tale (dystopia apocalypse Sci-fi with a grump old thug as the hero) well worth picking up.
Has anyone picked this up yet?
I'm going to venture into Leeds on a Winter Spesh hunt at lunchtime. Wish me luck.
It's a bit good. The Defoe story in particular was very entertaining.
I missed out on the Summer Special, and regretted it. Will I miss out on this (the Winter Special) as well?
Hell no!
The line up looks fantastic!
As usual none of my local newsagents that carry both Tooth and the Meg seem to have this.
Shame it can't be included in subscriptions.
Looks like I'll have to get it out of Tharg's shop.
No Winter Specials have turned up in the Huntingdon WHSmiths today but the Prog was there. Back when the Summer Special came out it was the opposite problem; they had that but no Prog for the week that it came out. The same was true for the WHSmiths in Peterborough...seems that distribution of special issues is a problem in my little area of the country :(
Forbidden Planet in Leeds now has one copy left.
Only read Dredd and Defoe so far, both of which are highly entertaining. A little bit confused about the ending of the Dredd strip, but it's a massive improvement over TC Eglington's last Dredd story in the Meg. The art (by a newcomer whose name I don't recall) is really good too.
And Defoe is back in the prog in 2015! Hurrah!
No Special in my WH Smith's either... tense, nervous headache? :)
No special in my Smith's!
It's war, I tell you!
No copy in the newsagent near my office when I went for my prog at lunch. Surprising as they stocked the summer special but I'll get a copy somewhere.
Nothing in Smiths in Wimbledon. Digital it is.
Well I'm semi relieved that it's not just the Smiths near me that haven't got it...guess I'll check again tomorrow to see if it was just a little delayed.
No special in Peterborough Smiths and said they had no idea about it.

Damn that was going to be the next place I checked...
Not on Clickwheel. To the shop then?
None in Smiths in Middlesbrough either, and for some reason FP doesn't put Tooth out until tomorrow, and I can't be arsed facing a trip into town twice in one week. So I ordered it from Disposable Heroes.
Hadn't a chance to grab the prog today and didn't know the WS was out yet....double (possibly triple) thrill power tomorrow. Will make for discussion topic at next B2000KADDG! Z
I was actually greatly disappointed by this with only Defoe being of any interest.
I take it it was a prequel as I haven't read the weekly series, if not then again I didn't get the stories just like the others.
If it is a prequel then it has interested me enough that I will go back and read it all back to back, so that has to indicate quality.
The others were just meh, Dredd; another substance Rogue is affected by and maybe you had to be poisoned as well to enjoy it; an alien Cabbalistics inc, which makes you wish they'd just bring back the very excellent original and a mediocre Terror Tales.
Had to have it because I am a completist, but meh.
Sold out in FP in Edinbra, they may get more in, but suggested WHSmiths in Waverley! may have to send the Memsabib.
Is there some specific reason that you're all trailing around all the newsagents in your localities, rather than just ordering this from the online shop?
Cheers
Jim
A few reasons.
It feels good to actually have something in the physical shop.
The immediacy/impulse buy for those who don't want to buy digitally.
The option to have a quick leaf through first.

A few reasons.
I was talking about ordering the physical product from the online store. Admittedly, I didn't get to leaf through it first but I'm struggling to imagine that the people who are traipsing around multiple locations on multiple days are going to have a riffle through the pages when they do find a copy and then say 'Nah...' put it back.
Cheers
Jim
If I can't pick it up over the next wee while I will.

I can see why you're not popular at your local WH Smith...
Cheers

I got mine yesterday and I enjoyed it too. Glad to see the return of the specials. Mine got sent to my newsie without me even asking for it, as did the summer special (which was great because the shop was closed at the time due to a fire, and I thought I'd miss it). My loyalty to that newsagent who's bent over backwards to get me progs, Megs and Extreme Editions, when it was on the go, is the sole reason I haven't subscribed.
One thing though-
Inside front cover story blurbs- Rogue Trooper... the ambush was the Quartz Zone Massacre, not the Glass Zone Massacre.
A little late on this thread but there you go - the Summer Special, very nice... The Winter Special, even better... I'm guessing these did pretty well and will be a semi-regular feature on the Thrillpower calendar?
