Title: It?s a thin line between casual and casualty..
Post by: Bart Oliver on 15 February, 2003, 09:24:49 PM
It?s a thin line between casual and casualty..

Yet another evening ends in the all night algerian cafe on the high street drinking black treacle coffees and puffing away on a cherry flavoured hookah..

Four hours of sleep later and still enough alcohol in my system to pre-empt the mother of all hangovers for just a few hours more I?m fishing for cures- anyone got any?

Been Teetotal for many a year now, but when I was a p*sshead I found a couple of cans of Lucozade Sport used to act like a miracle cure on my hangovers.

French Toast (at least 3 slices) sprinkled with sugar

black coffee

followed by a pint of pure orange juice

You can't beat a couple of pints of water before you crash... but if you are too far gone for that you need. 1) Pint of Orange Juice or Squash 2) A black coffee or two 3) A big full English Brekky with plenty of tea 4) A bracing walk... No hangover will survive that.

Well my body was hardly a temple in the first place- now it resembles the 24 hour garage round the corner;

I've demolished half a loaf, several sweet teas and a carton of juice..

but couldn't bring myself to drink anything with bubbles in it although I do have a friend who swears by Lucozade and smokey bacon crisps- something to do with the salt content.

Thanks for the advice everyone

Bart

Hey Bart, feling any better yet?

rotts.

I always used to go for lots of water before bed, and a 'Pot noodle (chicken & mushroom)' when I woke up. It never made me feel that much better, but it got rid of the furry tongue feeling.

as much liquid as you can stomach( bioled water).some vit c tablets and couple of paracetomel.then more liquid and a sleep.
if its avaible a very good method is an introvenus drip.stops the dehyradtion.taking effect.
not so good at your desk though.

Sunday Lunch Time

Well it's my friend's last day here before he jets off to Oz, for perhaps ever..

So plenty of jars are going to get drunk in the process of sending him off- (thinks) why couldn't I just take him to the airport.

Anyway I've taken note of all the advice and made the necessary preparations. However I couldn't get hold of an introvenus drip at such short notice- maybe I'll meet a nurse at the bar..

Thanks again- Salute!

Don't you just love The Young Ones?

Vyv: "Mike, what's good for a hangover?"
Mike: "Er, drinking heavily the night before"

You may meet my sister, she's a nurse and an alcoholic.

Well no luck finding a nurse on Sunday night.

But you know what they say DD -  'Hope springs eternal..'

Which hospital does your sister work in Karne?

The last time I met a nurse with a drink problem I wanted to get  to know better was when I had a bike accident in York, though severe concusion and a shattered collar bone stopped me from asking her if she would go for some beers with me after her shift.

"Which hospital does your sister work in Karne?"

She's recently relocated from Stevenage all the way to Marton. However, I really wouldn't push my sister on to anyone I respected or would like to remain friends with. On the plus side, as she's a Ward Sister in the Psyco unit she'd be able to counsel you if you did want to date her :)

Humm.. can't fault advice like that, especially when it comes down to family.
I've got four sisters I wouldn't want to push on anyone, not even people I didn't like.

Where's Marton In case I change my mind?
