Title: Judge Dredd (1995) Expanded Score.
Post by: dweezil2 on 13 June, 2015, 11:21:29 PM
Let's face it, there's a lot to be said against the 1995 Judge Dredd movie.
But one of the few positives, is the excellent Alan Silvestri score, which the record label Intrada has just released as a two disc expanded edition:

It even includes the rather brilliant Jerry Goldsmith trailer music!

It's a different one to the version featured in the trailer; in that it's not as good, sounds like there's parts missing and it's played too fast.

Could be Pal speed-up on that trailer for the reason it plays too fast.
However, the first pressing of the expanded score featured an incorrect trailer sequence, as recorded by someone else.

Apart from the PAL speed-up, the new Intrada CD version is too fast and has parts missing - it sounds like a different mix of the McNeely (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jo7f_WjyQ0U) version. It doesn't sound like Goldsmith on the new pressing.

Looks like it isn't the Goldsmith version on the new Intrada CD:

Subsequent pressings have the correct Goldsmith trailer recording-the one I've got winging it's way over the pond should be the correct version.

Customers who purchased the original pressing, should of received a replacement disc by now.

I love that score, always fun to pop that on.
