Awesome work! I haven't followed Bartkira for a little while; there's been a ton of great stuff since the last time I looked. I love the way your own style comes through despite working within two other established styles.
The Simpsonification of the dialogue is inspired (especially "Mendoza!") - was that all done before they assigned you these pages? Do you have a say in which pages you draw or is it the editors' choice? It seems like you got a pretty sweet set - then again, I don't remember there being a lot of dull pages in Akira.

Echidna, they just assign you whatever pages and you can do pretty much what you want with them as long as the scenes start and end in the same place. Simpsons have been choosen to replace all of the main akira characters but most but for the minors ones, it's up to the artists who they want to use. The paneling and dialogue are up to the artist as well (of course switching out the appropriate names and calling the city Springfield instead). As long as you follow the plot, things are pretty wide open. I just lucked out and got a scene where McBain witnessed a death and couldn't resist a MENDOZA!
Again, think that they are still looking for artists!

Never mind my question I have witnessed the answer on a second reading. So all that's left to say is GOOD WORK and also how happy I am to see McClure and McBain together.

I'm finding it inevitably hard to keep track of some of the minor characters. Troy McClure = the spy?
But the Spy dies on the lift fighting Lou/Otto/Lionel Hutz (started off as Lou, was Otto for the start of the fight against Smithers/McClure and then the fight proper he turned into Lionel Hutz). Oh well still easier for me to keep track of than most of the characters in the original manga.
Volume 3 will be entirely new territory for me so god knows what will happen when I don't have the context of the film to keep track of it all.
