Merry Christmas everyone!
Huzzah for Calendar time!
A genuine annual treat.
Insomniac Dunk!
ITS CHRISTMAS
you just brought JOY to my day.
this message board has always been the FINEST PLACE ON THE WWW.
thats set the bar DAMN HIGH!!!!! :D
What an age we're living in, when thanks to the wonders of the internet I can snort with laughter at the words "Judge Dredd's arsecrack" on the bus to work. Thank you Mr Wells, you have made my morning :)
Pete you are a creature of rare beauty and wonder. Not only do you organise this magnificent think you get the ball rolling with an example of your absolute comedy genius.
Frankly the cliche we're not worthy has rarely been so valid. I salute you sir and all who sail in you.
its the thread of the year. Hurrah! :D
Great start Pete and Megabus. Looking forward to seeing what each day brings.
Sinatra's got nothing on you, Pete. Henceforth you shall be remembered as Ol' Blue Pies. Fantastic start to a real seasonal treat!
Woohoo!
Excellent song
and a real evolution in style from Megabus. Great stuff
What a start to the advent thread! Fantastic work megabus! Really looking forward to the rest.
Perfect single panel Pete!
Not tuned in to the Musical yet as I don't have any headphones with me.
Great start to the season with those entries I have experienced!
Always takes me by surprise when it starts but it is already utterly perfect. Great job everyone can't wait to be back here at the end of every day :D
Aw pants - I accidentally commented on the main calendar - sorry! Could admin please delete it..?
Here's what I had to say anyway...
Oh what a great start to this year's Calendar!
Pete Well's shows us once again how wonderfully lyrical he is - 'She's a pain in Judge Dredd's arse-crack' - brilliant!
If that wasn't enough there's DavidYeh's excellent festive submission and megabus's corkin' start to his comic strip!
Awesome stuff all round!
Bloody hope I get my entry finished in time..!
My favourite part of the advent calendar thread is seeing who replies in the wrong thread first.
Well done Andy
As for the entries, great work chaps
Thanks for all the lovely comments guys. I've been stowed off with work and had to blast that out in a couple of hours. I was really worried that I was gonna get knacked off you lot. I'm absolutely thrilled that it's gone down well, you wierdos!
As for everyone else, what can I say but 'Wow!?!' Dave the Megabus is absolutely knocking it out of the park (special feature coming to my blog, by the way!) and the extra treats from David and Andy have ruddy well blown my trousers off!
I love you lot! Merry Grudmas one and all!
Wow! Pete your Xma jingle has Christmas number 1 written all over it...spat me porridge out fella! As for Dave and Andys contributions...love them! More please! :)
Very great start indeed, blown away by Andy's piece!
Pete Wells delivered indeed with his jingle hit and David's page turner makes sure you come back every day.
Excellent!!!
I just watched Pete's entire back catalogue and I feel a bit funny.
Horny?
Day 2 and things are looking great! Love the work andy and megabus! :)
Very generous John! You're making us Scrooges look bad.
And you all thought Burdis was a twat! Heh, I was there when he got a few of those signatures, which was lovely!
Thanks JB, you're amazing! Can't wait to see Sam picking MY name out of the hat!
All shaping up very nicely as usual. I love Pete's songs and accent.
The best bit in Pete's video is at 00:51 when he nearly get his lines wrong and sings 'skill the skank' - you can hear him trying not to laugh just after..! Always makes me chuckle! Grud bless ya, Pete..! ;)
A generous gift from Commando Forces and another great piccy of Dredd on his bike by David Yeh thanks guys. :)
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Sorry, forgot to write anything because I was laughing so much at the musical. In this crazy world, may we never lose the gift of laughter. Genius stuff.
I also love the ongoing story, there's a lot of talent out there.
Amazing work so far looking forward to the rest of the month now. Mr Burdis may actually be Santa..
Mr Burdis is a very kind man and I've never seen lego put to such good use.
The advent calendar does nothing if not confirm my faith in humankind and its creative ingenuity.

...I've never seen lego put to such good use.
Thanks, Colin! The best thing about this was that after putting it together one evening and taking the pic, the following day saw Oskar (5), completely unprompted, building his own fatties complete with bellywheels and a sleigh full of food. And that was without any suggestion from me or reference to the thing I made, which was in another room - he just did this from memory.
As for the playlist, I originally had a longer one and just slimmed it down a bit for the final image...
Little Drumstick Boy / Pies on Earth
Wide Christmas
Away in le Manger
Good King Munceslas
O Christmas Pie
Ding Dong Merrily on Pie
Munce in Royal David's City
Fairytale of New Pork
All I Want for Christmas is Munce
and many, many more...
:)
Munce in Royal David's City! Genius.

Christmas carols this year are going to be fun...
Great stuff all, a lot of work gone into all entries. Ming, just clever, CF I appreciate a signed book, but maybe put my entry for it as 'Eamon Clarke' he seems to make good use of books like that.
The strips are great, I wish there was a place that we could read strip of this quality by up and comings of the comic industry(BOLT! Where are you?)
I loved Mings contribution yesterday, nicely posed photo and the attention to detail was second to none with the old 'PIE' label added to complete the whole piece. Thanks Ming :) Talking of attention to detail, I see that David updated his Dredd/Lawmaster piccy. Already looking forward to Albions contribution today!
Wow! The work that you and Mrs Albion put into that Judge Dredd Christmas cake is amazing thanks for sharing. I look forward to your contributions every year fella! :D
Tweaked by request from Megabus hisself!
Sorry for the melodrama :D and once again Albion and everyone so far great contributions...I love this time of the year! :D
What an incredible Advent thread this is turning out to be! :) Once again I am extremely jealous of all the talent this board seems to possess.
Huge thanks to Mrs. Albion for her efforts! I would pay good money to have a cake like that for a special event.
I love Sharks crossword and I can't wait to print it off and have a go. Thanks Mark really great! :)
Genius! Everything is genius! Oh what a lovely bunch of nerds you all are!

Seconded. I love cryptic crosswords, comics and sci fi. Really looking forward to getting stuck into this. (The social life can wait till next year...)
Cool snowdredd cake too!
Thanks, chaps. I was afraid a crossword might be a bit meh given the stupendousness of things so far. Some of the answers are deliberately obscure - so Google is permitted!
Happy Christmas again - may Santa smile on you all.
Great work, Sharky - I'm having a Christmas party with some fellow nerds in a couple of weeks and I think your crossword will go down a storm :)
Oooh yeah, printing that off right now! Something special for the commute on Monday, cheers Sharky! Love 15 across!
Well done megabus! Nice way to tie in past events. :)
Shark that crossword is brilliant work! Ever think of taking up professionally. I'm going to do the cryptic version. In ink! :)
Great stuff from all so far! Is anyone ahead of themselves enough to swap dates with me? I've had a stupidly busy week and have yet to start mine, due Monday? If not I'll pull a late one and get it done somehow. ;)
Absolutely wonderful contributions so far! Has Dredd ever looked so tasty?? Now we all know the law has a fruity filling..!
Megabus's strip is going great already - I was expecting some Tremors style mutation so the throwback to 'The Cursed Earth' was a nice surprise..! Looking forward to seeing how this plays out....
Nice idea from The Legendary Shark too, though I'm utterly crap when it comes to crossword puzzles..! lol
Loved ming's food-based contribution too - some nice, tasty puns there..!
Darren, I can't actually swap with you as I'm still working on my main piece, but I can contribute something on your day so if it helps you to reschedule at a later date, then happy to help...

That'd be grand, Andy. Much appreciated!
Like something out of my old Beano annuals, MikeD! Mad genius!
Nice short xmas sketch Eamonn with a great pay off that put a smile on my face. A smile which continued to grow with the annual Angel Gang cartoon by the talented MikeD. Thanks to both of you for today's advent treats.
Loving this, Mega bus, you are a talented so n so! MikeD, always great to see your work. Bloomington' marvellous!
WOW that cross word, WHAT A WORK OF ART!!!
very impressed
you all have FAR TO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS
and genius in your blood!!!!!!!!
WOW I am truly staggered by the standards :o :)
Thanks Dev :)
More great work fellas!
I'm going to give the word search to my mrs, she loves those. :)
Great stuff Andy and cheers for covering for my ineptitude!
Hi Andy, Amazing work! I especially like the old style version of Tharg...love it all! :)
Cheers Darren and von Boom :)
Thanks megabus - I know this is a calendar, but in my head all the submissions are playing out like they're part of a new 2000ad annual..!
With comic strips, special artwork, crosswords and word searches, it just feels like the contents of an annual - all we need is a text story, character files and a spot-the difference game, and I think it's sorted! lol
what a way to spend a break at the desk!!!
The advent calendar is as good as an ANNUAL!!!
No higher praise can be offered to each contributor/creator of this incredible piece of the WWW.
Board, you bring joy each day. THANKYOU
i concur 100A%, Andy Lambert

That's a great way of looking at the calendar. Oh, how I miss the annuals of old....!
James, you've done it again! You're just knocking out amazing artwork one after the other..!
Don't how you're doing it - is it line drawing with digital colouring?? I'm sure I'm seeing some brush strokes in there though...
Lovely concept, beautifully executed - drokk knows how we follow that..!
Great work chaps!!!
Amazing work from James there and Megabus is absolutely blowing me away. The story is absolutely gripping and the artwork superb - no wonder this has taken him months to do!
Great stuff from Andy, eamonn(!), Sharky and Mike make me a happy lad! Iiiiiiiit's Christmas!!!
All great stuff so far on this advent calendar, glad I discovered this nugget of gold in the galaxy :)
Amazing work James. I love the concept and the finished picture. Thanks to Pete, David, VonBoom, Andy, the various groups and my friends on Facebook for the support.
I am glad you are all enjoying it. Please don't forget to share that support on this thread for all the other amazing contributions. :-)
Quote from: Andy Lambert on 10 December, 2015, 12:43:40 AMDon't how you're doing it - is it line drawing with digital colouring??
Yep. I just scan the pencils and paint them in Photoshop CS3. I mostly use the dry media brushes to get that heavy texture look.
Well, your technique and style is providing us with a series of fantastic artwork, mate - just wonderful!
Kudos too to megabus as the strip gets well under way - that main panel from today's page (10th) is fantastic!
The story reminds me of the best elements from Tremors, Aliens and Starship Troopers - it's great fun to read and must've been a blast to put together! :)
Meant to compliment MikeD on his brilliant Angel Gang strip too - great work, sir - lovely humour to it!
Sorry, folks, having interweb problems right now; I'll post my entry later today
Jayzus Dublin is a richer city for your work. That should be up year round!
James she can judge me any time.
Megabus, what can I say. Your story is a treat as always.

That was the plan, but it came off when I had a shower this morning.
Seriously, though, thanks for your kind words; and I forgot to say I'm loving the megabus strip; Judge Claus is outstanding (I've said it before but your art is like Charlie Adlard's Armitage stuff but better), and the old-fashioned Tharg word search looks genuinely beautiful.
Astonishing work as ever Jayzus B Christ but if I'm honest at first I thought you were being a bit risque having Rogue try to cop a feel!
"Not pictured scrawny limbs and beerr belly"
Sorry Jayzus but this is what stood out to me. The image is in my head now. Damn you.
Fantastic thread so far.
JBC- very impressive work- I hope to see 'em first hand.
Thanks!
Just realised they've all been posted thumbnail sized , though. Not sure what's gone wrong. I'll try to post the full sized ones tomorrow

Thanks to JayzusBChrist, Andy, VonBoom and so many people on Facebook for the kind words, complements and support. I'm glad you are all enjoying Judge Dredd Bad Crop. It makes the time and effort put in to it well worth while. Thank you! :) :) :)
More treats from a brilliant calendar! Love the window displays, Jayzuz. Mr Dilworth knocks out of the park yet again, too. Beautiful work sirs!
HAPPY DROKKIN' CHRISTMAS SQUAXX!!
Loving the advent calender. The Dredd series is as usual fantastic. Nice work David!
Top marks on the pub windows Jayzus, they look ace.
Have a festive yule y'all.
Cheers, Kerrin.
'Slaps face in surprise'
Kerrin?! Where have you been?!
Fantastic Work People. Keep it Going Christmas is a Coming !
Sorry not to have posted here - I have checked the entries every day and enjoyed them all. It is however derelict of me to take the contributors for granted and I apologise. I see on FB that Megabus was considering ending Bad Crop early due to some trolling. I'm amazed that anyone could think that they even have the right to moan about something posted for free at obvious great personal commitment. So well done him on a cracking strip and to all who have contributed so far. My personal contribution of blinking out 'Merry Christmas Drokkers' in Morse code during the '15-1' grand final has been shamefully overlooked but I will try harder next year.

Absolutely - great work all round!
I concur with my colleagues above: the Advent Calendar is a wondrous thing and definitely one of the highlights of the year. The degree of creativity, dedication and imagination demonstrated by the participants is always heart-warming and uplifting!
Megabus: please don't end Bad Crop because I'm enjoying it and I really want to know what happens next!

Hell yeah, keep 'em coming, Megabus! The latest "Oh crap, how are they going to get out of this one" cliffhanger is killing me!
Its great to hear support for this thread and all it contributors from Buttonman, Kerrin, Darren, Steve, Eamonn, Echidna, Judge Gerry and Mike. :)
I really enjoyed the contribution from Brother Grotusk yesterday, 'Its a wonderful gag!' Thanks for taking the time to share it with all of us.
Half way through and what a thread it's been so far.
I love the diversity of each day's entries and the fact that we also get a complete story to enjoy too from megabus.
It's been a great mixture of style and content from you all. Truly zarjaz.
From the, er.........., singing (?) of Pete ;) to the generosity of Commando Forces. The puzzles from Andy Lambert and the Legendary Shark. The amazing art of David Yeh, Mike D, Dilworth, Brother Grotusk, Andy Lambert and Jayzus. Ming's Lego and the unplanned video of Eamonn.
I've loved 'em all and I'm looking forward to the next twelve days of scrotnig thrills.
Grotusk, that really made me smile. Simple and very well done.
megabus' offerings continue to be a treat.
Hi, Many thanks for the comments much appreciated.
Megabus I hope Tharg can find a space for you in the prog some day. He's truly missing out !
Big thanks to forum members Albion, VonBoom and Brother Grotusk for their support to this thread, myself and the other contributions.
Really nice to see a festive and light hearted Johnny Alpha sketch thanks Steve, great characterisation too. :)
Nice work CFM and a great idea too. :)
I'm very much aware that I can't spell btw
That's bloody brilliant CFM! And Steve pull's a magnificent take on the Stronty duo. Now to crack on with my own entry...
Bloody fantastic stuff guys. Steve, that's a lovely bit of work there. CFM, that made me chuckle and Megabus continues to impress and delight. That's an awesome page.
In other news, I've nearly done mine. A few days late. Should I bung it up or leave it until the 25th? Don't want to hog someone else's day.
I vote to bung it up as soon as it's ready - because even though the feast continues to be scrumptious, I'm greedy for more!

Cheers guys. Should be done tonight, so I'll bung it up first thing tomorrow. ;)
Great work on the Advent calendar thus far. I'm pleased to see that Megabus has continued to post his epic adventure. It is a shame that a few trolls would take it upon themselves to tarnish what should be an enjoyable experience in sharing a love for 2000 AD and it's amazing legacy. I hope that the positive praise for Megabus and his lovingly crafted Dredd saga on this thread has made up for the small minded individuals that choose to criticise rather than create. Rant over! I started my piece yesterday and it'll be ready to post on the 15th. Awaiting trolls with daystick in hand!

RIGHT. Slogged all evening and got it bally done.
Here's my tribute to the winners (and also everyone else whose entered) the art comp over 2015. It's been a beautiful year, it's always a pleasure to moderate and I've loved every bloody moment of it. Have a drokking good December work break and the comp will be back in the new year so START SHARPENING THAT STATIONARY!
As came up at the Southern Contingent gathering yesterday, it seems quite a few people start work on Art Comp entries but don't finish them in time. December has the Advent Calendar to keep us enthralled, but perhaps there can be a New Year special thread consisting of all the works which were finished too late for the comps?
Warm fuzzies abound at the combined efforts that go into the advent event every year, and this year is no different. Huge appreciation from me for everyone's contributions so far, and extra props to megabus for deciding to soldier in the face of negativity from I-know-not-who. Inspiration struck me on the bus a couple of days ago and I'm hoping to find time to actually get it down on paper!
Cheers
Jim
Oh boy, there's so much awesomeness on display on the Calendar - huge round of applause to those who've contributed so far!
JayzuzB.Christ -stunning work, absolutely gorgeous! At times, I'm reminded of Ian Gibson's artwork. There's something among your pictures that looks similar to what I'm working on, but I assure you I started my design last month so there's no intended plagiarism! lol
BrotherGrotusk - cracking drawing there, and a lovely reference to a very popular film - shame Clarence was prevented from saving that poor soul in the background...!
Steven Denton - a nice break from all the Dredd stuff (zarjaz as it is), brilliant detail and figure drawing - the look on Alpha's face is priceless...!
CrazyFoxMachine - what a lovely homage to this year's winners! Can't believe it's virtually a year since I discovered this art contest - the one thing that got me back in to drawing, so a heartfelt thank you from me. :)
megabus - continues to knock out cracker after cracker! The main panels on pages 13 and 14 are stunning! So glad you're continuing to present the strip - I just can't fathom why anyone would have something negative to say about it..! Stupid, stupid people.
Darren Stephens - ah, Darren - I love your style of drawing and I'm still envious of your colouring skills! Once again, you've presented us with another brilliant, humourous festive offering! Thank you :)
Halfway through the calendar - it gets more exciting, but I don't want it to be over too quickly...!
Great festive Dredd cartoon Darren. nice style, composition, colouring and even brought a smile to my face too. Thanks for sharing. :) :) :)
Mine's looking like it might be a day or two late. I hope i'm not breaking any rule's with that. Anyone who'se completed theirs is welcome to use the 15th. :-\
Quick note to say that while I haven't been commenting every day, I've loved it all. I can't believe anyone would say anything negative about Megabus' daily strip, which is genuinely something I look forward to every year, and the first thing I turn to every December morning - keep it up mate, it's brilliant and I wish you kept it going all year round.
Off to appreciate Jayzus' windows in person later today!
Great work from everyone! I think I may prefer this advent calendar to the ones full of chocolates!

Mmm, that's a tough choice! Cheers for the kind words, Andy and Mega, loving todays contributions. Nice work Brendan and Megabus! ;)
Hey guys, sorry just to let you all know i accidentally forgot to re size my first post so i have asked for it to be deleted by the moderators and have added a smaller image..What a donut!.
It looks great either way, Jay. Nice mixture of movie Dredd's look and classic 80s Dredd feel.
Brendan, Dredd looks proper old and grouchy, just the way I like him! Great stuff.
Darren, I'm glad you decided to post it. Lovely bit of blasphemous fun; made me chuckle (amazing art too).
Megabus continues to thrill - reading the next page is the first thing I do when I wake up. I'll miss it when it's over.
Andy, thanks for the Gibson comparison! One of the highest compliments my work has received (even though I was kind of ripping off McMahon for Dredd and the blocks, Ewins for Anderson, Cook and Belardinelli for Ace, and Davis, Sullivan and Ezquerra for Tharg and co. But Ian Gibson is easily up there with my favourite art droids).
Looking forward to your entry, by the way, and I'm even more intrigued now to see which of my ones it looks like!
Thanks for the kind words regarding my pic folks. Jaydanzig, that's a top bit of work there. Like it a lot!
Thanks Darren Stephens and JayzusB.Christ you know plenty of time and then there was no time, I had liked to have coloured it in but time and Christmas ran away with me.
Some great work of art been made for this Christmas Advent Calander 2015 Darren Stephens love all the action going on and JayzusB.Christ your work is better than the Stained Glass windows of a church. megabus the story keeps on giving so give us more. Great awesome stuff from all you guys.
Great fun everyone, great standard again this year, keep 'em coming!
I've just found out that I was the winner of Commando Forces' wonderful free draw for a droid-signed copy of America! Once again the advent calendar brings out the generous side of our boarders - Cheers John!
Some other fantastic festive traditions have continued - Megabus' annual Dredd is his best yet, Jayzus' windows are always a treat and Pete sings. Again.
Great one off pics from boarders old and new, tastey-cakey goodness, zarjaz puzzles and a nice tribute to all the art comp winners from CFM.
This truly is the best thing about Christmas! Ho Drokkin Ho everyone!
YES DDD WON and here is the video to show the draw in the pub. I'll be sending it off later today and I hope you enjoy it, with 52 names in it now.
And the winner is..... (https://www.facebook.com/john.burdis/videos/10208390472903751/)
Cheers guys glad you liked it, Honoured to be on here with all the amazing talent. Allistermac that is an awesome piece of eye candy. This calendar is the best yet, thanks Darren I appreciate it mate.
Looking forward to the rest of Megabus's story and for what else is to come.
Wow! Day 14 on the advent was amazing! Brendan Rowland gave us a sumptuous illustration of Judge Dredd giving citizens the gift of Law, Jaydanzig gave us a glorious movie Dredd in full colour and great characterization...almost poked out my eye. Last but not least Allistermac gave us Dredd arresting Santa in another amazing line drawing with a simple but really effective colour palette. Thanks for my advent treats guys! :) :) :)
Out of interest if anyone is struggling to finish, last night I completed my entry which is not due till the 21st so if someone needed to swap dates to buy a little time then just let me know!! I may even try to get something else done now for the 24th!
I also need to say awesome work by all involved. Highlight of my day is popping on here first thing to get my next fix of Megabus' masterpiece and then seeing what other delights everyone else creates. As others have said this year is looking like one of the best so far!!
Once again, some awesome Christmas Crackers on the calendar!
Loving Brendan's book of law, looking very bible-like - I guess the law IS Dredd's religion afterall..!
Great, in-yer-face artwork from Jaydanzig - I like how you've kept the comic-book colours for the movie style look.
Speaking of colours, I'm loving the festive red and green colouring to allistermac's artwork - excellent drawing there! Dredd and his Lawgiver are particularly well-drawn.
amines2058 provides another bold, in-yer-face offering, fun and very striking! Nicely drawn, and once again, great colouring - wish I was that skilled at digital colouring!
And of course, megabus continues to impress with 'Bad Crop'! Wonderful stuff, sir!
Well done to all who've contributed so far - looking forward to what else is to come!
I've also finished my piece ahead of schedule, so if anyone needs more time to finish their's, let me know and I'll swap with you. :)
Congratulations, by the way, to Dandontdare on winning the Commando Forces' book! Well done, sir!
That Slough Feg Christmas card by AMines is just too clever, great idea, great colouring and on a gloomy, grey December morning it managed to bring a smile to my face :) Well done to John for his Amazing Christmas prize draw! Congratulations to Dandontdare for winning the first (I think) prize. Thanks to Albion, JazusB Christ, Andy Lambert and everyone else on this thread for supporting all the contributors. :) :) :)
Thanks for all the kind comments, much appreciated. Glad you all liked! I love doing this every year.
Just keep the submissions coming, this is miles better than any chocolate based equivalent!!

Quote from: Nic_Freeman on 16 December, 2015, 07:58:23 AMTurns out there were less of these than I'd imagined (couldn't find one for Mills, Wagner or Grant). Had planned to do a few more, but turned out to be quite time consuming.
Barney has this selection (http://www.2000ad.org/?zone=covers&page=scans&choice=DROID) but I'm absolutely certain there was a TB Grover one and I'm sure the image in my head of Alan Grant with the comedy tammy must come from one too.

There were a series of Ezquerra illustrated stories before the Meet the Droid scans, Alan Grant (AALN-1) is in those (he's even on a front cover, before getting disintegrated by the Dictators of Zrag), as is 'John Howard' who gets downgraded to receptionist and replaced with TB Grover (which actually prompts complaints in the letters page about the decline in the script quality, despite John Howard and TB Grover both being John Wagner). Script Droid Mills is mentioned, but never actually appears (he's always on the phone).

Yeah defo a Wagner one somewhere I'm sure but a nosey at Barney suggests it might have been a different artist?
http://www.2000ad.org/?zone=covers&page=scans&choice=robins (http://www.2000ad.org/?zone=covers&page=scans&choice=robins)
As for Alan Grant and the Tammy defo appeared in a Tharg story or two as evidence by this lovely cover by Carlos

More importantly those animated GIFs are a work of wonder and I love them Nic Freeman.
As ever thanks to Barney and apologies to Lobo Baggins who beat me to much of this but I'd got this far so I'm bloomin' posting anyways!
Damn, I was looking in the wrong section on Barney! Thank you all for the kind words, I might work on a full set as some kind of animation for later next year. I made a start on Belardinelli but although the animation is easy the photoshop work takes ages to prep the illustrations. I definitely want to do Carlos and Brett.
Does anyone know out of interest, are all the droids (Spex, D.J.1 etc) based on real people?
Chopped him in half! Great stuff megabus!
I love those animations nic. I would love to see more.
Sensational, Nic! Inspired by the documentary's animation ?
Gone back to re-watch them a couple of times :)
They feel like a lot of work too - consider it well-spent.
Great Anigiffs Nic, ingenious in fact. Thanks for the advent treat. Thanks for the continuing support VonBoom. :)
Really sorry but I'm going to miss my slot. Going through some heavy stuff at home and haven't found time.
I'll see if I can fit something in later.

Really sorry to hear this. My best wishes to everyone in the Space Ghost house hold this Christmas.
Gobsmacked by all the wonderfull stuff posted so far.
Lovely animations, windowpainting, greeting cards, word puzzle thingies, vids, songs think we allmost have everything now :)
Not to forget the stellar feat David Broughton did with his 25p comic. The ABC warriors, who would have thought :) Keep it up all every day is a surprise box waiting to be opened here :)
Ha-ha! Brilliant Megabus - didn't see that coming!
Quote from: Lobo Baggins on 16 December, 2015, 09:42:58 AM
Script Droid Mills is mentioned, but never actually appears (he's always on the phone).
Script Droid Mills did appear much more recently though, in Prog 2014...
That is awesome megabucks. Dredd and ABC Warriors, my 2 favourites. What is not to like! !
Nice one Megabus - that''s what I call a plot twist!
I'll buy that for a dollar.
Yep. Gave a little cackle of delight myself, there — nicely done, Megabus. Very pleased you decided to persevere!
Really enjoying all the contributions... keep up the good work, folks.
Cheers!
Jim
Thanks David, Buttonman, amines, Dandontdare, Jazus and Jim for the kind words for Bad Crop and all the contibutions that have been made so far. I'll post a sneek peak of tomorrows page in a little while. :D
Hah! Nice one, Megabus, I wasn't expecting that! :D
Going to have to get mine finished over the weekend, crazy days here today.
Thanks
Loving Nic's animated droids..! Brilliant stuff and very clever..!
As for the surprise appearance of the ABC Warriors in the Judge Dredd strip - WOW! Totally unexpected twist - can't wait to see what happens next..!
I'm so enjoying the advent calendar - I'll be sorry when it finishes... like the song says, 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day'/ I've already got ideas for next year's calendar...! lol
I'm really looking forward to Larfs post. His contributions over the past years have been amazing! Thanks to Lobo, Andy and Facebook friends for supporting the advent yesterday. I'm glad you all enjoyed the plot twist. Really looking forward to seeing Neil McClements post later. :) :) :)
Have to say I'm saving reading Megabus and co's story until the end as for various reason I did that last year and loved it read as one during the prog wilderness. Have to say however thank Tharg for him and his ability to keep going as since the 16th he's keep the calendar on course and going in quite magnificent style. From seeing the pictures I bloody can't wait to read it too!
Makes me more annoyed at myself for once again lacking the time, talent and courage to throw my hat into the ring. Hope all those experiencing problems getting stuff done are all okay and the reasons aren't too troubling.
Megabus, you magnificent bastard.
Thanks Colin and Tordelback that really means a lot to me. Thanks once again. :-) Let me be the first to say what an Amazing Rune Lord picture...I love it! Neil is one of my favourite artists out there at the moment. Thanks for standing in for Dunk at the last moment Neil...Get well soon Dunk! :-)
I can only reiterate what TB says about that plot twist. Amazing.
Not one, but two excellent festive drune lords this year! Neil, I'm not sure how you've managed it, but you've somehow drawn in the rancid stink off him. Brilliant.
Bizarre coincidence that one of the more obscure 2000ad characters would be chosen by Neil and myself for the calendar. Neil that is stunning!
Thanks all. Alex I did notice you'd done Sloth Feg so I was happy as I did Sloth Throt! But it is from the finest moment of 2000ad history...Sky Chariots! First time I've had a real long look at the calendar this year and what a (christmas) cracker it is! The Dredd story is great David and everyone's contributions have been amazing. looking forward to the final week.
Gorgeous artwork as ever, Neil - well impressed, sir!
Doh got my slough feg and slough throts mixed up. I think a reread is in order! Still cracking work! !
And megabus once again amazing. Am loving the story
Thanks Andy and at least you spelt it right Alex "Sloth" ?!
By god, Lambert, that's just magnificent.
Blimey Andy Lambert, that's good!
Is it just me or is there something genuinely terrifying about that video of Judge Burdis?!?
Fantastic work from all! Andy, that is a bit of class. The Judge Burdis vid was great, too. ;)
It's not just you, Colin... I love it though; makes me long for a Judge Minty sequel (highly unlikely, I know, but we can always dream).
Just noticed Walter on the ground in Andy's pic, and Tharg's cheeky little Ian Hislop grin. It just gets better and better!
Great artwork and words Andy, really festive and Steve the work that went into that short film of Judge Burdis riding the Lawmaster is stunning. Thanks to both of you for two Amazing advent treats today. :) :) :)
Cheers all, we did the scan at the same time as I was doing one for Stront, I asked John if he wanted to pop along, since I already had the 3D lawmaster.
Was just curious to see putting someone on it rather than just green screen like we did with Minty.
Thanks guys - glad you liked the contribution. Shame I didn't get it to fit the page properly... lol
Steve, great work making Judge Burdis look imposing on his Lawmaster!
The gift that goes on giving... :D
Neil McC and Andy - fantastic efforts there, really brought a smile to my face. I particularly love Tharg's slightly manic, evil expression; perfect.
Great job all!
Loving your Slough Feg Neil McC.
Really excellent.
Fabulous stuff and that Andy Lambert one is just a classic. The FB link works fine Steve Green and is also awesomeness.
Grud on a Greenie and Burdis on a Bike!
Cracking stuff, Steve! You must've made his week with that...certainly made mine!
I can't believe this thread is coming to a close soon.
Loved the FB offering Steve. Cheers for your work!
You've mixed what may be my two favourite 2000AD properties megabus! Great stuff!
Megabus is absolutely knocking it out of the park!
Wowsers to all.
More Amazing prizes to be won on the forum this year thanks to Bolt 01 and thanks to VonBoom and Hawkmonger for the kind comments. :)
Biochip!
Nice Judge Burdis video. I wonder why no helmet though? Surely JB isn't a psi-judge?

Yep. Hats off, Megabus, you've given me another nerdgasm!
Sorry about the wait folks, was down for the 18th and time ran away with me. Hope you like it, and Merry Christmas.
It's awesome Larf, well worth the wait.
Love the present cannons!
Aaaaaaargh! LARF what have you done? I was gonna do a hover Rudolph for the 24th!
Ace picture by the way.
You can still do a hover Rudolph, mine's more a skidoo :D
Ah nice one, cheers!
:D
BTW - that rather sexy Psi-Judge is bloody awesome James :o
Excellent Larf. Nostalgia-tastic! :D
Love it, Larf.
One of mine had kind of a hover-Rudolf in it. So in the spirit of Christmas, I'll sue you for every penny you've got if you do one too, Dilworth. (I won't sue you for every penny you've got. In fact, I really like your work and I'm looking forward to seeing your hover-Rudolf.)
A really great festive take on one of my all time favourite covers. Thanks Larf, I too love the cannons shooting presents. Blackmocco's Judge Claus brought a smile to my face too. Thanks for the advent treats guys. :) :) :)
Ugh, seasonal brain shutdown, posted the following in the actual Advent thread itself like a flippin' noob:
Y'know Bad Crop is entirely progworthy - I'd have been very happy getting that in the Crimbo Prog.
All amazing stuff this week, too much to list, as I race to finish paperwork, but that Slough Throt just blows me away. Expecting great things from the McClements droid in the future.
Festive mods please delete the original!

Thanks Tordelback, high praise indeed. After putting 400+ hours into the story I'm just glad you liked it. :) I hope to put up a look behind the scenes post on my blog tomorrow or in the next couple of days. Hopefully it will have a link to a free PDF of the complete Bad Crop story. Thanks once again. :)
It's nearly all over and what drokkin' good fun it's been.
The second half joys of CFM's art comp tribute, Darren Stephen's wonderful Dredd nativity, Brendan Rowland's Christmas law, movie style Dredd goodness from Jaydanzig, Allistermac''s dirty Ho!, a glorious Slough Feg from Amines, Nic Freeman's gift of GIFs was inspired and I'd love to see more, a gorgeous Slough Yule from Neil McClements, Andy Lambert sleighed us with his artwork, the generosity of Bolt and FQP, Larf's cover is a thing of beauty, Blackmocco's Judge Claus is awesome and not forgetting the continuous joy of Bad Crop from Megabus.
Each day has been a joy, much thanks to all who have contributed. I would send you all a piece of our Dredd Christmas cake if I could but it seems to have vanished. ;)
Merry Christmas to you all.
What joys will tomorrow bring?
What a great thread this has been!
I applaud all your very worthy efforts. Pat yourselves on the back.
Great ending megabus! Cheers for all your obviously hard work! :)
What a lot of folk realise is that Megabus is actually a machine. The sheer amount of pages produced each year and the increasing quality too (A painted opener!!)
The 2000 ADvent is always a treat and hopefully team Zarjaz will have a little somethin' to post tomorrow.
Wow. I have truly loved every contribution this year, as I do every year. Megabus is, rightfully, the star of the show. I'm so glad he decided to continue posting it....Bad Crop has been a fantastic story. A real festive treat! Happy Christmas all and a happy new year to you! ;)
The ending didn't disappoint! I loved how
Mongrol suddenly took over from Dress as the star of the show.
I'll miss my first-thing-in-the-morning routine of reading the next page.
Great effort from everyone this year - especially megabus' epic - It's what 'Helter Skelter could have been! Looking forward to tomorrow's odds and sods. Thanks as always to Pete for putting it all together.
Firstly apologies. I'm one of those that shows up here every day to be thoroughly entertained and hasn't even have the grace to say thank you.
To Megabus especially, hats off sir. Brilliant stuff and I love your colouring man.
Aside from that, wordsearches, quizzes, animations, songs...
okay maybe not the song.
;)
Thank you all. Brilliant thread.
and merry whatsits.
Well done everyone!!! The Pro's pics are up (with hopefully a couple more coming as Christmas Eve rumbles on!)
Remember, today is free-for-all day so post away my lovely Squaxx!
Firstly, excellent artwork from LARF and blackmocco, who along with exceptional work from megabus, round off this year's calendar in epic fashion!
The artwork from the pro's show us exactly why they ARE pro's - amazing artwork! Absolutely astonishing stuff!
Can't wait to do it all again next year...!
Merry Christmas to you - Grud bless us, everyone..! :)
Amazing work all round. Grud bless Pete Wells block and all those who use their creative powers for good within these walls.
I would like to say a big thank you to Pete Wells for starting this wonderful thread and taking the time to be involved with it each year. :) To my fellow contributors I would like to say that you are all Amazing and talented people and I wish every one of you success. :) To every one who made comments on this thread for Bad Crop and/or all the other contributions, thank you for making it worthwhile by just spreading the positivity that this thread engenders. :) Last but not least thanks to the Pro's for taking the time to contribute and if they are reading the 2000AD editorial staff for providing so much thrill power through out the year! :) :) :)
Well done, everybody. I've also been one of those who've viewed the calendar daily but not chipped in with praise till now, but it remains an awe-inspiring thread - megabus has of course outdone himself this year, not least through the sheer loopiness of his Mills-loving tale. Merry Xmas.
Congrats to everyone on making the forum advent calendar/unofficial 2000ad annual an entertaining success - I've enjoyed following the contributions, some of which appear to have taken a lot of time to complete.
Which brings me on to Megabus' mega epic... firstly, you show an incredible dedication to quality comic strip creation without renumeration which is pretty awe-inspiring and, secondly, it was a really entertaining story. Well done!
Pete Wells - as 'unique' as ever and, despite a deliberately laugh out loud level of ineptness in the vocals :-)), really well written. And thanks for organising this whole thing, Pete, it's always a pleasure to contribute and read, watch or listen to everyone else's work.
DavidYeh, Andy Lambert, James Dilworth, BrotherGrotusk, Steve Denton, Darren Stephens, Jaydanzig, Brendan Rowland, Allistermac, Blackmocco and Larf - great artists all, but it's ideas that make Christmas pictures great, and these all inspired awe and mirth, and sometimes both.
Lego fatties is a brilliant idea - take a bow, Ming!
Albion's cake, Sharky's Crossword of Geek, Andy's wordsearch and JaysusB's incredible window display all added to the fun, whilst showing the level of creativity on this board. I wouldn't know where to start making any of these, so consider me impressed.
CrazyFoxMachine - that's a great tribute to the brilliant competition winners this year.
Amines2058 and Neil Clements produced a pair of Sloughs which, as well as being stunning well drawn, reminded us of the pagan origins of Christmas :-)
Nic_Freeman - I love these animations. This is the kind of thing the internet does best. Wonderful.
Steve Green - 3D snow!! Oh, and a dude on a bike. Incredible VFX work.
And then there were the last minute contributions from Mike Carrol (I'd wear that jumper) and Dash Decent and Dash Jnr (it turns out that only a rogue GI could make Minecraft better!)
And Lee Robson/Bolt-01 round the whole thing off with a witty series of newspaper strips.I know that it's hard to do something so readable in nine panels, so well done chaps.
Once again, thank you to everyone, and especially to Tharg and the droids for their genius and inspiration. Let's do it again next year! Merry Christmas!
Thanks everyone and Grud bless you all
And another fantastic Advent calendar comes to an end. Sorry my own planned thingy never panned out, but we've been spoiled by the top-class goodies on offer.
None more so than Commando Forces' generous prize draw - photographic evidence below that this prize has been safely and gratefully received! Merry Grudmas one and all!

*Dredd, not Dress. Not the first time my phone has done this.
What an amazing last day! Honestly, opening today's thread has been like a day-early Christmas present. The calendar's been great this year; I look forward to the next one!
Another great advent calender this year. Well done to all.
Merry Christmas from us all at Creed Towers!
Another brilliant advent calendar, kudos one and all.
I'm sorry I didn't contribute anything this year, just been finding doing anything creative so difficult since losing my wife.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas

You are in my thoughts Filippo. Stay strong fella.
Best wishes,
David.
Fantastic work everyone. Can't believe how quickly the last month went. Hopefully next year I might be able to contribute if I am allowed a spare moment.
Thoughts are with you filippo.
Filippo thoughts are with you. To everyone who posted on the main thread, what an effort. Megabus takes centre stage with his legendary effort. But to everyone, pros and amateurs I have loved every day of this calendar. It is now 1.25 am, it is Christmas day. Merry Christmas all have a drokkin good one and a thrill-tastic new year!!
Filippo, hope you can make the best of your first Christmas without Ray.
Merry Christmas all.
Edit - James Dilworth, that is all kinds of amazing.
I'm glad I saved this up to go through all in one morning as my Christmas treat. Excellent, fantastic work from everyone. I'm not going to single any one piece, or pieces, out because it's all so damned good.
Thank you all for starting off my Christmas with such unparalleled excellence. Merry Christmas - I love you all!
Fantastic end to the calendar. Thanks again for all the great work.
Thoughts are with Filippo.
What a fantastic advent calendar, including Megabus' mega-contribution and everything else in between.
A very Happy Christmas to all Squaxx.
