We already know about most of these, though there's a few more details on that 'black metal' comic due soon:

Something tells me that "Misty" collection is going to be picked up by more blokes than sheilas.

1) a TV series that might not happen!
2) a comic that almost didn't happen!
3)..

Actually confused here - is Scarlett Traces being reprinted in the Prog?

(and no doubt I'll buy it but GoldTiger really really looks like Fantagraphics collection of Cannon but, well, without Wally Wood.).

I gather there was a War of the Worlds adaptation by the same team, what I'd like to know is will that be reprinted as well.  Would love to see a set including that on my bookshelf!

Not really, that suggests that it will do a new collected edition (ie GN) then new material. The linked article says 'ST is coming to the 2000AD Prog'. D'israeli talk about it having been in the Meg. So what's the idea - reprint it in the Prog / Meg / collected edition first THEN new material - in the Prog / Meg / Direct to GN (like GoldTiger).

I mean I don't mind either way - would be a departure for the Prog obviously hence asking when the article states it as coming to the Prog.

Happy New Year to you btw Molch-R.

Both are very good books. I can't imagine they are terribly hard to find. Alongside Kingdom of the Wicked which is the best of the bunch.

The press release states that there will be new reprint collections, followed by new stories in the universe. My guess is that the article linked to earlier got the wrong end of the stick regarding what '2000 AD' means (in terms of brand versus comic).

Can't speak for what others do, but our press release was pretty clear ;)

QuoteThe legendary British comics publisher has secured the global rights for the series, its sequel The Great Game, and its prequel – the pair's adaptation of HG Well's The War of the Worlds – and will reprint them in new editions.

2000 AD is also delighted to announce that Edginton and D'Israeli will be working on new stories in the series, an inventive Steampunk sequel to Wells' all-time classic by two of comics' greatest talents.

Oooh, I'd forgotten about Scarlet Traces.

When's it coming? When? Is it nearly here yet?

Though i'm probably just speaking bollocks, Edginton and D'Israeli said they where hoping to start work on the new material in the second half of this year, meaning we'll possibly see A Thrill Of The Future at somepoint then. The reprint I assume would coincide with the release of the new serial....maybe.

I'm wearing my dunce speculation cap, mind you. Molch-R is the man to ask....

Dark Horse did a cracking print of all three; the WOTW adaptation, Scarlet Traces and Scarlet Traces: The Great Game.  The latter two include early character sketches and design process details.  The only reason I'm not insanely excited about the prog picking them up.  That said I'm glad it's getting a re-airing as it truly deserves it.
