This was hard to write and a hard decision to write in the first place. I am not an attention seeker, I'm pretty reserved really. But I hope others will think about their health after what happened to me.
There are some unpleasant things in the article.

Damn, Bat King but you are one tough bastard! I'd have been eating my lawgiver right after 'possible penectomy', never mind all the rest. I lost my grandfather and my favourite uncle to undiagnosed diabetes, and very nearly my father too, so I can only applaud you for trying to spread the word, however hard for you personally. All I could think of reading your post was this:
Glad to know you are still about BK. That is a heck of a tale and I'm glad you were able to write it.
Dave
Thanks chaps.
Feck. Glad you're still with us, BK. (And that your, er, old chap is still intact!) Keep the chin up; you're clearly a hard bastard and will get through the rest of it ok.
Bloody hell. What a horror story. I'm just in awe of your determination in the face of all that.
I very rarely use this place to discuss personal things - lesson learnt a long time ago. So when someone who does likewise choices to do so I take note as its not doubt something worth reading, for good reasons or bad.
Thanks for finding the courage to post that Bat King. There are times when I see that the personal stuff discussed here is a real support for those writing and help draw out responses that are also supportive and beneficial to those making them. In this case it appears as though you've done this for the benefit of others and that's particularly cool. Well done for finding courage to not only fight the illness - good luck with your ongoing recovery - but sharing the experience to with those of us who could probably use the warning!
Hats (or helmets) off to you sir.
Thanks for sharing, and good luck.
I don't know what to say other than I'm glad you're still with us. I hope you manage to recover well.
Yes - can't even get my head around some of the awful things you've experienced, but very glad you're still here. Best wishes for the ongoing recovery.
Good man Bat King. Z
Admit it brother, you're a fighter. You've expressed this very personal account with the intent to warn others and there aren't many in this world with the courage to do that. I wish you well on your road to recovery.
Bat King, I applaud your courage in getting through this and wish you all the best.
Credit also to the fine people looking after us in GP's surgeries and hospitals.
Thanks all.
Aye, Surfer. I received some great care in Hospital. Yes a few staff were a bit 'this is my job' but most were 'this is my vocation'.
We often take the NHS for granted, even when we think we don't.
Glad you're on the mend. I've come across many people who underestimate the seriousness of diabetes, especially type 2. It really is an insidious disease. Good luck for the future.
Blimey, you have certainly been in the wars of late, to put it very mildly, BK.
Take it easy, and wishing you the very best, as you work through all this.
Holy shit!! Glad you're still with us mate.
So... see you at Lawgiver 4 then? I need a place to crash. 😝😉
LOL
I don't intend missing another Lawgiver...
Nor do I intend getting as ill as that again. Mind you visit didn't plan it this year to be fair.
Yeah all well and good but how was the hospital food? ;)
Thanks for the sharing - didn't even know some of those conditions existed! Hope you are on the mend and your weapon regains full power in short order! (not a come on).
The food was quite tasty butv the portions were small...
I haven't read the full details of your recent troubles - I'm a tad squemish when it comes to reading about such things - but all the best with your recovery, BK. I hope you'll be better soon. Cheers - Paddy
I hope you are feeling better, that was something to pull through.
Fair sailing on the ship of recovery Bat King.

Sounds like a wise choice. It ain't pretty... lol
The main gist is that I had what I thought was a minor issue regarding not bring able to do a number. Instead of ignoring it for a day or two I went to GP next day. Ended up having life saving surgery due to complications caused by Diabetes I didn't know I had...
So the while point of the article is to highlight the need to listen to your body dating b something boss wrong.
Blimey Bat King that was an eye-opener. Glad you're still with us sir and that it won't be too long before you're bedecked in cosplay and back amongst us with your review pamphlets!
Blimey indeed. Well done, Bat King. And well done the NHS
Sweet jebus Bat King i'm so glad your over this particular trial, good health to you fella!
Quotean intense swelling in my gentiles
Oy vey, that can be sore!
QuoteMy penis was otherwise intact. Obviously this was a huge relief.
This has got to be the understatement of the century!
Joking aside, sorry you've had such a scary and painful experience, but I'm glad it eventually turned out OK - best of luck with your recovery, and will no doubt catch up with some leg-crossing eye-watering anecdotes at Thought Bubble

Hoping to be catheter free by Thought Bubble but who knows... it does fit seamlessly under my costume though.

Only just found this thread... :o
Glad you're OK Bat King, brave of you to share that with us.
All the best mate.
Cheers Wooly.
Day by day I am improving. Though today I am extra tired for some reason.
My recovery will be slow and at times I am getting frustrated with that. But in the main it is onwards and upwards.
