TMO's latest Thrillmail has an advert for a subs handling Droid, does that mean the wonderful Denise has been fed to Mek-quake?
We need to know FFS!
:D
I'm afraid so. After many happy years with the same warehousing and subscriptions operation, we were asked to find an alternative arrangement due to Perfect Mailing changing its business model and no longer wishing to handle 2000 AD's substantial comics, graphic novels, and merchandise business. We're in the process of moving, which will mean physical products on the online shop will temporarily disappear in the next couple of weeks before reappearing shortly afterwards. Have no fear, Tharg's droids are working tirelessly to make the transition as seamless as possible.
We will be ensuring that the Denise droid is properly honoured for her many tireless years of service.
NOOOO!
Aww. Denise was always ace — friendly, helpful and efficient at dealing with issues. She will be missed.
Yep - Denise has been an absolute star over the years. A very hard act to follow!

This ^^^
It was never with trepidation you contacted Denise and she always went the extra mile to help out, a true gem!
Mighty One you must honour her years of great service and unstinting devotion to Thrill power!

Included in the New Year's honours list surely. Quick, to the petition site!
Krill Tro Thargo at the very least.
What everyone ^^^ has said.
Yep more praise for Denise from me, she was always fantastic to deal with and so down to earth and friendly.
I remember fondly one conversation with her, on one of the few occasions I've had a problem, when the conversation led to me trying to explain she had a bit of a cult following on the message board and was held in such high regard. She said something along the lines of
"That's strange, you all seem so normal when I speak to you."
I wish her well in whatever she's up to next.
Denise is brilliant. I second the nomination for a KTT.
and why not...

Awwww! Denise was lovely and indeed, as others have rightly pointed out, incredibly helpful on the few occations we spoke. I hope it was an easy and not at all bitter parting.
Getting a picture of many people with subscription problems! :-X

I'm not sure Denise ever met anyone from Rebellion. From the sounds of it, she worked for Perfect Mailing, who handled Tharg's warehousing and distribution. Presumably Denise still works for Perfect Mailing.

Just file this under the large folder of 'obvious shit Hawkumbler still didn't twig on to'.

I'm not sure why you would think that. People from Rebellion have met Denise multiple times over the past 16 years.
Have to echo the praise being dished out here. In my couple of dealings with Denise she was ever so helpful. I wish her all the very, very best. Z
Denise was a diamond!
All the best to her for the future!
Alright folks been off here for a while.
I'm sorry to hear Denise wont be dealing with any order Queries. She really was a lovely lady and any probs with missing progs/megs i've had since subscribing to both few years ago were swiftly dealt with.
It would be nice if our feedback is relayed to her and would love to see her get a proper tribute for hard work and ace customer service in the galaxy's greatest comic.
Anyone else agree? :)
Completely agree. By the sound of it her job is continuing just without the Rebellion contract to deal with. Whenever I had an issue I always had total faith in her to sort it out. I cannot think of higher praise in a world of constant frustrations and disappointments.
Never with Denise, even during my saga of trying to get the Cursed Earth book that she ended up getting back to her and sending out personally.
Hope she knows how well she is thought of by the 2000AD fraternity.
My 10 year + sub has always been a hassle free pleasure, no doubt due to Denise's efforts. Only once did a Prog not arrive and a single email led to a replacement being received by first class post the next day with no suggestion I was a dodgy jock trying to double my fun.
It would be great if the replacement droid was plucked from fandom but that would probably mean too many hours lost to the products being 'checked'.

I'm like Leo DiCaprio's character in
Catch Me If You Can*.
* Frank Abagnale. I looked up the correct spelling, because I'm a modern day Munchausen.
Another thumbs up from me - always polite , always helpful , and an actual delight to deal with. She helped me , not only with missing or damaged progs , but actually went out of her way to source some of the Dreddcon tees and posters that she found in the warehouse. She also sounded like the old woman on the Steve Wright show
I love Denise. It was almost worth a prog or Meg not turning up, just so I had an excuse to phone her. These new people have a lot to live up to...
A Tharg adventure featuring Alec Trench, Denise and drawn by Gibson is the only fitting tribute to this unsung heroine of the thrillways.
(she once fixed a problem for me. She's officially ace).
Damn! Farewell Denise and thanks for your sterling work helping out these Friends of Tharg when they needed it most. :'(
I'm imagining a statis-tube or Boing(R) block and plaque being prepared in the Cellar...
So she didn't lose her job as such-just her role with Rebellion?
As Molch said, the company she works for has changed its business model and therefore will no longer be working with Rebellion.
She's not quite gone yet! Had a good chat with her today.
She couldn't help with my particular subs query (see here if anyone can help: http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php?topic=43692.new#new (http://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php?topic=43692.new#new)); which took about 2 minutes toe stablish, but we had a good chinwag.
She said she'll be sorry to go as she likes all her 2000ad customers (I assured her it was reciprocated) and she's not sure what publications she'll be moved to. She has been invited to the 40th birthday celebrations, but may not be able to make it because of a holiday.
TMO better get baking that cake ....
