Please post your comments to the wonderful entries of the 2016 Advent Calendar in this thread. The calendar itself is here: https://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php?topic=43963.0 (https://forums.2000adonline.com/index.php?topic=43963.0)
Merry Christmas everyone!!!
filippo
I feel very uncomfortable with where this is going. Please confirm there is no second episode Mister Wells, otherwise I may be calling for a cease and desist order.
Less because of the actual content, more because it can only give Burdis (who is a terribly impressionable young man) ideas, and I'm already terrified enough that I'll be letting family and friends know ahead of time when I visit... :P
And a merry drokking Christmas to you lot too!
YAAAAAAYYY!!! Here we go...! It's Christmaaaaaaaaaaas!!
Brilliant start there, Pete! Brilliantly bonkers but I expect nothing less! Disco Dredd needs to be canon!
I want your toys so bad too!
Great start to the advent calendar and nice and up to date
Love it!! I was pissing myself watching that during my morning constitutional. Good work!!
Excellent start from Disco Dredd
Brilliant stuff fellas - I can see the powering down of the Cellar being a recurring theme!
And lovely image by Andy. I'm quaking in me boots now about saturday
I thought this is the "2000ad advent calendar",
not the "Burdis advent calendar"...

Pete and I are going to have to synchronise our schedules or something. There goes this years "Commando Cellars" in the bin!
Ah but Dash, you always do a million brilliant cartoons!
Disco Dredd steals the show of the Mezco Toy Story. I love how you get all the songs in. Brilliant!
Great start from Pete Wells Block that sets the bar high(ish) and gets us into the Grudmas spirit, thanks to Disco Dredd and his pals. Just saw the Oor Burdis "reserved for KTT" shelf. Good one.
And that's a very fine festive pic from Andy Lambert.
I've actually got quite a few pictures to upload so I'm not sure if I should stick to the days I've signed myself to or spread them over each day - I don't want to tread on anyone's toes...
Thanks for the lovely comments everyone! Hey Andy, post away my friend, there's no stepping on toes at Christmas (unless you're dancing with me!)
Awesome, cheers Pete! I'll post a pic each day for the next couple of weeks :)
Pete - That is great, "the T-shirt and Pants were the first to go" line really got me! The tattoo sells the whole concept too. Fortunately I post here just often enough to get the inside joke regarding the Cellar of Dredd selling off his collection (quite sad really, I enjoy his blog!), or should we now say the "Seller" of Dredd...
Andy - Great job on the photo, only it looks a little too convincing to be photo-shopped. Im convinced its real!
I love Christmas and am really looking forward to this thread - were off to a blistering start!
Great first day! I'll be thinking about the t-shirts and pants with a grin for some time to come!
I think this adds to the increasing body of evidence that Pete is the great human being alive today. Yet at the same time it makes me grateful his new(ish) role must surely mean he has less direct contact with the minds of school children.
you've outdone yourself Pete
Disco Dredd brought back unwelcome memories of the Bat-asses from Batman and Robin (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr6gACml4h0), but other than that, great stuff :D
Wonderful stuff from Scowlin' today! I might report Mrs Pete for provocative flatulence as I really want one of those Globular Rad-Sleet Simulators!
Agreed - absolutely wonderful stuff! I've got my eye on the Justice Dept Advent-Wagon so I reckon Perp Payne's days are numbered...!
(see what I did there? ;p )
Judge Pal,
I'd like to report a crime. shaolin_monkey has caused great jealousy in the hab with his Justice Dept. Advent Wagon. Oh, and Andy Lambert's offering stirs unwelcome feelings as well. Best nab him too.
Your friend,
von Boom.
Looks like another banner year for the advent calendar! Great work! :D
Thank so for the kind words folks! I can't take much credit for the Advent Wagon - that was Bekh's idea. I helped - the wee Judge on the front was my creation. She's filled each compartment with a wee treat for me to discover each day! I'm a lucky guy! :D
Andy - awesome work there! It's great to see such a cool Xmas spin on a 2000AD favourite!
Wow! A really great start to this years calendar with Pete's Double Whammy of an 'Oor Burdis' strip, Followed by his Mezco Disco Dredd movie which made me spit out my synthi-breakfast flakes. I'm loving Andy Lambert's festive 2000AD images and Shaolin Monkey's Judge Pal prizes. Great model work as usual Dave. Thanks for making the mornings a little brighter everone! :D
That snow globe and advent wagon are brilliant! The detail on the Dredd figure in the globe, and the panel printed on the base just look amazing!
Fantastic Nemesis there, and I love that Disco Dredd cover - "He's the law/on the dance floor"!
Christmas Mekon! Great stuff - that made me chuckle.
Loved the story! It has me guessing right to the last few paragraphs!
Medco Disco Dredd had tea burning out my nose! :D
Christmas Mekon and the story are fab! :D
Things are starting to look Xmasy 'round the hab.
Cracking story and Mekon offerings from Eamonn... lovely stuff!
I do wish I was capable of writing a story myself.
I do, however, have a Mekon piece lined up myself so you'll be seeing that soon.
Aw man, I do love this calendar!
Yet more awesomeness!!! Thanks Eamonn, that story was ace and the artwork wonderful!
So that's a shit film, cool modelling, awesome daily art and brilliant prose and were only up to day 3! I really do love the diverse range of talent and creativity the calendar brings out each year.
Sniff! I love you guys!
Blimey Andy, where do you get this stuff from? The Carol of Halo Jones is genius!
I love that the forensics Judge is named Quincy! (I still remember all the trainee cops fainting or running off during the title sequence! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI3pd-dNN-0))
The Carol of Halo Jones is exceptional. The blue and white works so well as wintery Christmas colouring, it just makes it ever-so-much-more wonderful.
How does Andy Lambert do it? The rate he's turning this stuff out and its all wonderful. Have to say though, Carol of Halo Jones raises it to a whole new level of genius.
Well done Andy, keep it up!
Outstanding work, Andy Lambert. Literally jaw dropping.
Thanks for kind comments on my paltry efforts. Loved putting Quincy in there.
I'll be back on the 17th with some audio.
Is it just me or does Carol of Halo Jones have a touch of Dillon to it? Nice homage there.
Amazing work Andy Lambert! All of it. Especially the Halo Jones.
Just catching up as I start work on my entry, and it's all bloody great stuff. Truly the highlight of the forum year.
Aw, thank you very much, folks :)
The idea came to me late last night and I thought "Ooh, I like that" so I got drawing, which is why it was past 4am when I posted it... lol
LAST NIGHT!?! :o
Even more amazing!
Loving Mongrol's candy cane!
The colour work on Candy Smash is even lusher. Just...arsom!
Lovely Halo.
Lovely work all round.
Dunk!
And Lambert continues to astonish, and Jim Campbell's Calvin & Hobbs picture is brilliant!
Great contributions from everyone! Andy continues to impress with both quantity and quality. Really nice to see mimikeke's work again too; she hasn't been on here in ages.
Great offerings today. I especially love anything with a boy Dredd! :)
Great work Jim - a fantastic nod to Calvin & Hobbes.
LOVE the Dredd cartoon! Great fun..!
And 2000ad giftwrap - now there's a great idea..!
Big fan of Jim's entry, brilliant execution to an idea, which as you'll see later in the month, I'm a big fan of!
I've always been a fan of Jim's entrance!
Great entries so far. Love that festive mekon! And Jim's cartoon reminds me more than a little bit of Calvin and Hobbes, which is always a good thing.
As it's turned out, my entry will be a poorer cousin of one of the existing entries. Apologies in advance, it wasn't intentional.
Lovely stuff Andy.
Reminds me of Kev-Lev's work, who's art contributions are greatly missed round these parts.
Dunk!
Mekon pud! Fantastic! Brilliant execution of a clever idea.
(I need someone to draw seven Advent cartoon strips for me - you're hired!)
Awesome additions folks - love the Calvin and Hobbes!
Jez Andy how the heck are you doing this? That Mekon entry is probably your best yet.
Incredible work and any one would be impressive, but turning them out at the rate you are, all great ideas, is something else.
I salute you sir.
Aw thank you folks - I'm just bringing two of my favourites things together and having fun with it! ;)
Lovely work by Darren Stephens and Mr Lambert giving me the blues about my artwork.
Love the card from Darren Stephens, and Andy Lambert's Rogue Trooper is great.
Grud so much awesome stuff again this year, I keep getting amazed at the stuff people keep coming up with... Love it! Thank you all so far excellent job!
This has to be my favourite post of the year...every year! Andy's pictures are a real joy, thanks Andy. Eamonn's double conribution of Mekon piccy and short story is a great way to start the morning. I loved Jim's cartoon. Last but not least Darren's Xmas Santa Judge is simply put 'a great image!' :) :) Thanks everyone for making these dark grey winter mornings a little brighter. :D :D

Ah, thanks, David. Really missing yours this year. :(
Thank you guys for the kind comments, loving everything so far! Always a real highlight of the year, this calendar! :D
That Mekon/pud image is such a great idea I can't believe it hasn't been done before. And just when you thought the thread was as awesome as it could get, we have the start of a new Daily Zarjaz strip. Ace.
Awesome stuff - always great to see Lauren in uniform, and also looking forward to how the Anderson cartoon turns out!
Have to echo shaolin_monkey regarding Lauren as Anderson. Top notch work once again!
Thanks for the kind words, folks!
I love Darren's colourful and crazy looking Judge Claus! Great to have a comic strip again, I look forward to seeing how it progresses..!
We are now seeing how dangerous a fully weaponised Andy Lambert can be :D
Amazing contributions so far :D The creativity is dizzying here!
Amazing!!! Now we have a game! A frigging game!!! :D

Grud bless us. But there are no bugs. Only undocumented features.
I'm not sure I want to see what is in Santa-Slaine's bag though.
So much great stuff so far! And its only the 9th. I don't know how Andy pumps out so much fine artwork so quickly, must be something magic in Slanes Santa bag.
I think little Timmy was a little naughty this year for Santa Death to appear.
Brilliant contributions from Steven Denton, M.I.K. and Rogue Judge..!
Only two weeks to go now....! ;)
Going to be a couple of hours later than most I'm afraid. Only a small entry from me this year; things have been mad lately
Apologies once again; give me a couple more hours. Bit of a nightmare of a day. Great work from Andy by the way!
Thank you JayzusB.Christ, and don't worry about how long your contribution takes - something to look forward to..! :)
Jeez, Mr Lambert! I can't tell which of your epic images I like best. Although the Ro-Jaws one may become a Christmas cake design round our way soon. Any chance of you creating a real 2017 2000AD calendar?
Awesome work guys. Andy, you legend! :D
Once again, thanks for the kind comments :)
I'd love to do a calendar!
I love the giftwrap - definitely needs to be a thing for us Squaxx..!
And the cakes are just wonderful, though it'd be a shame to eat them..! I wonder what The Mighty One tastes like...
Excellent and zarjaz cakes from Mr & Mrs Albion. Star baker this week!
Those cakes look lovely! Looking forward to Andy Lambert's offering on the 18th now.
Those cakes are really impressive!
Always love the different things people pop up with. So wrapping paper and cakes both works of genius.
That said Mr Lambert you rule!

Absolutely - cakes, wrapping paper, videos, models and (amazingly) a working video game - no knitted goods yet, but there's still time! The cartoons and pictures are, as always, fantastic - Andy Lambert has been hitting it out of the park this year, the man's a machine!
Well done to the contributors and Merry Grudmas one and all!
Yes, a wonderful, wonderful couple of days and a HUGE, HUGE thanks to Jaysus for the wrapping paper, I'm really excited to see it!
This cakes are awesome too, however, Albion should now take photos of him earring them a-la-Buttonman.
You guys are amazing!

Mine, due tomorrow, is also unusual. I'm pleased to see so much variety here!
Excellent biog work, Manga Max
Trout, great job on the tabloids - 50 creds seems a little steep! How much for the vid slug version? :P
Who is the artist that drew that pic of Dredd on the front page? That image has been the home screen of my phone for a few weeks but I don't know where it comes from.
Also, I was clicking through your pictures and was shocked, but pleasantly surprised, to see a Tim Horton's cup!
That would be Bolland art. He once nabbed a photo of me for a fake newspaper he was making, so I thought this would be appropriate.
It's 50 creds because The Sun is 50p, and I'm willing to be the Big Meg has a shitload of economic problems after Chaos Day. At least, that's where Brexit is taking the UK. My small British freelance income is smaller than it used to be!
I must confess I prefer Starbucks to Timmies. Sorry. :-[
Lovely stuff Manga Max!
Drokkit Trout! I KNEW those dirty muties were to blame! Mexit can't come quick enough!
I love the interview with the Justice Department representative - good to see the standards of tabloid journalism haven't declined since 2016.
Quote from: Pete Wells on 01 December, 2016, 11:35:57 AM
Ah but Dash, you always do a million brilliant cartoons!
Thanks Pete. Your positivity and generous spirit are appreciated.
I think I know what I can do... Oh, for the talents of Mr Lambert! Oh, for the talents of Buttonman even!!
(Love your work Buttonman. I'm not sure about all the stains, but the rest I love!)
Tabloid journalism is the future and the future is now. I wonder what's on page 3? ;)
Super work Trout!
Thanks! I did plan some inside pages but it was taking up too much time, I'm afraid. Maybe I'll get to them one day. The sports page was particularly fun!
Superb work everyone. CFM, that's a great image and a lovely message, too.
Ah, Stephen Prestwood. Still miss the old palooka - he was such a massive part of PARAGON.
(Oh and by-the-by, Dirk Van Dom is back with a bang in the latest issue. His first contribution to the small press for years - a 32 page sequel to the Stephen Prestwood illustrated Icarus Dangerous! Scott Twells taking over on art duties)
Cracking work, everyone. I'll have to get my pad out and get my idea drawn up for the last day
Ah, CFM- way to get an old proto-droid misting up. I'm still gutted to think I'll never get anymore superb art out of Steven. A fab piece and thanks for posting it!
Lovely entries over the last few days folks! The tree ornament would go well in any Squaxx household!
No offering for the 15th? That's a shame!
I'm not up on the schedule, so don't know if I've just stomped on anyones digits, but I've just posted a compilation of the current strip.

No offering for the 15th? That's a shame!
I think Crazyfoxmachine posted his a day early.
I was originally the 15th but he asked me to swap to give him more time as mine was finished.
Phew! Just finished my last piece in time for tomorrow..!
Absolutely love Mangamax's Biog model! Looks amazing and so detailed!
My tree needs Eamonn's Dredd decoration..!Every tree should have one!
Loving Trout's newspaper, keeping things brilliant and varied.
CFM's submission is poignant and bittersweet and is a lovely bit of artwork.
And finally the Anderson strip from Bolt-01 is building up nicely with some cracking art from Dunk!
Fantastic stuff, people! I'm very much looking forward to seeing what this last week will bring, although I don't want it to be over too soon!

:o ARGH. You said "looking forward to seeing yours on Wednesday" and I didn't double-check! ARGH.
I've inadvertently broken the advent calendar :o
Lol, I know Pete - need to pull my finger out...
We didn't get anything from LARF yesterday - hope he's alright.
Looking forward to listening to the podcast from Thought Bubble :)
loving all the contributions everyone !
More great work from everyone! Love Andy Lambert's prog cover! I can't believe there's only a week left of these.
Love it, Andy!
Sorry folks been absolutely snowed under with work and I thought it was today. Either way been in work all day today and was planning on doing a piece this afternoon, but after a fallow year early on things have picked up and unfortunately I have to prioritise. I'll see if I can get something created before the 24th.
Thanks for your concern by the way Andy, nice to be thought of, and keep up the great work, freaking awesome.
Love that strip from Shoalin and Fillipo.
Top work by all so far absolutely love the annual event that is the calendar. Unfortunately I am in a similar boat to Larf. Hectic work and personal life have left me with very little time to get my entry sorted. I have done 1 pic already but not to fussed on it but will be my emergency back up if I cannot get anything else done by 21st. Anyway keep the goodness coming I look forward to seeing what is new every day.
Great Calvin & Hobbes there, could've been drawn by Watterson; a brilliant send off to this terrible year by Mike-D, and I think "Satanus Claws" is Andy's best so far. The podcast is queued up ready for my Christmas Eve train journey.
That was a brilliant strip shaolin monkey! Simply perfect Calvin & Hobbes! :)
Great Angel Gang strip MikeD!
Tons of creativity and brilliant art, great job everyone!
CrazyFoxMachine - I read the gift and it was great, that last panel really made me smile!
Enjoying your strips Bolt!
Darren Stephens, I'm liking the decorations in the beard of that that crazy Santa Dredd
Andy Lambert, really appreciate your efforts this season - so much awesome art! Krampus and Santa Claws are both great! I think my favorite of yours this season is the Seasonsss Greetingsss, it reminds me of a classic Norman Rockwell with more Judge Death!
Albion, have you eaten those cakes yet? Maybe put them behind glass and admire all year round!
JBC - I would love to tear into that 2000AD wrappring paper
Eamonn, cool Dredd decoration - it has given me the idea to make these as crafts with my kids next year
Shaolin Monkey, Calvin & Hobbes is one of my favorite, I would love to see more of these strips from you on a regular basis!
MikeD, great take on the Angel Gang, I like the unique ways each of the Angel boys attacks 2016!
Great job all for keeping things going, sad to hear not everyone could make it but never say never :) Enjoying all the tidbits and stuff being posted. The more the merry!
Every day is a joy to behold on the advent calender :)
Thanks for the kind comments re Filipo and I's attempt at a C&H crossover. Bear in mind I just did the script - the gorgeous art is Filipo's!
Awesome C&H strip from ColinYNWA! I have the original versions in my tattered first ever C&H graphic novel! Brilliant JD take on them.
Loving the Calvin and Hobbes themed advent calendar contributions by everyone.
Still want to Satannus Claws on the Prog
I'm absolutely giddy over the number of Calvin & Hobbes inspired strips this year. Marvellous work Colin! :)
As they teach you to do in parent school, I love ALL the advent entries equally. But I think I love Joseph and Horse just a little more.
Loving the contributions.
Mine is happening. Thanks for brilliantly keeping folks entertained today Colin. I will be along shortly...
Marvellous! Everything's just marvellous! Better get a wiggle on, mines up next.
Its taking me a bit longer to polish off my entry for tomorrow (the 22nd) so it might be a late evening entry, if not an early morning for the 23rd. After mssing the deadlines for the last two years i'm determined to get this one down and break this art block at once.
Cracking contributions once more from everyone, Dredd and horse was very fun to read as was the angel gang saying goodbye to 2016 :) It's nice to see so much labour and love poured into it.
On another topic I finished my contribution for this year was planning on the 24th but if it's ok I can put it up earlier?
P.S: amines Dirty Frank was a nice surprise still looking cracking ;)
Drokk on!
David, swap ya! Mines due in today but as previously stated its taking a little longer than I would like to admit.
Cheers Hawkmumbler, I'll post today then :)
Beautiful contributions from everyone as usual. It been a great treat to wake up to every morning you guys are just the best! :) I'm in the middle of colouring my contribution which I hope to post either tomorrow or on the 24th. Here is a peek from last night just after I finished inking and the photo is deliberately blurred.
David you teaser ;)
Just finished listening to the Advent Mega City Book Club! Nice one Eaminn- a great round of talent talking about their 2000AD experience. Very entertaining!
That Anderson strip is poignant and beautifully drawn. I think I've got something in my eye (sniff) ....
and Anime - there's nowt wrong that pic! Dirty Frank rules!
Yup, that Anderson strip was proper tasty. That isn't the only thing that DavidYeh will have on the advent as well this year.
Lovely work, filippo
Great work filippo! Christmas just isn't Christmas until I've been called Creep. :)
Andrew Lambert's festive 2000AD pictures have have never failed to bring a smile to my face.
M.I.K's Zombo game was brilliant.
Albion's Cup cakes get to the core of all that is Christmas for me ...my stomach.
Manga Max's Biog breakdown service really brough back nostalgic memories of early 2000AD for me...Thank you.
Eamonn's Pod cast is always a joy to listen to.
Trout's Mega times news paper front page also brought a smile to my face...thank you Trout.
Owen's touching tribute to the loss of Stephen Prestwood made me appreciate things a little more.
The Anderson -PSI strip by Lee, Dunk and Bolt has been a joy to read.
Shaolin Monkey and Filippo's Dredd Calvin and Hobbs strip + Mike D's annualAngel gang strip was+ Colins Joseph and Horse strip+Alex's Dirty Frank Piccy all made me laugh out loud.
David Yeh's Anderson Xmas story was touching and some lovely artwork to boot.
Filippo's festive Judge Santa water colour card is just great.
Thanks to everyone that took the time to create all the wonderful contibutions this year. Peace and goodwill to you all! :D :D
Well done to everyone who took part. Absolutely outstanding contributions all round.
The real spirit of Christmas generated by our very own P-WLS and his mischievous elf Jingles.
What an outstanding calendar this year! Thank you to all you talented citizens! :)
What a shame the calendar has come to an end already, but it's been an absolute joy to see and be involved in! Thank you for all the lovely comments about my contributions, and thank you to EVERYONE who submitted something! It really is a projects I look forward to each year!
Love the submissions from the art droids too - someone please market the Dark Judges of Tedworld as toys..!!
Wishing all of you a wonderful Christmas and all the very best for the New Year! Ho! Ho! Ho! :D

Another most excellent calendar, well done all, you've made this grumpy ol' bugger smile all December long :P
filippo
Another great year in the annuals of one of the internets true treasures. Each and every entry (well one aside) has so much to admire (the other was a pretty straight lift!) and I'm so chuffed to be part of a community that pulls so much fun out of so many people. It seems silly to highlight anything, or anyone BUT as others have said there are two who do deserve special praise.
Andy Lambert who would be deserving of a mention if he'd just produced one of his masterpieces but to have crafted so many and keeping the whole endeavour afloat a couple of days is just an astonishing effort. Hats - and any other clothing you want -off to you sir.
And of course the mighty, mighty Mr Wells, who for those of you who've never meet him, is in the real work a grumpy old woman from Colchester, sorry Pete its time you were outed, but regardless is the boards greatest export... speaking of which I'm off to Facebook to see if there's any way I can appropriately thank him...
...wow...
...That man does have big love!
Loved the whole thing once again. Such a great and seasonal spirit of mischievous wonder and genuine humour. Thanks for the entertainment everybody... it was beautiful! Merry Christmas!
Long time lurker, seldom poster. First thing I look for every morn. Great work all. Thank you. X

Naked photographs Colin, always naked photographs.
Yet another tour de force from our stupendous Cybersquaxx, keeping the ember in December all warm and glowing. Thank you, one and all, for adding a splash of magnificence to this, the grimmest of months.
May The Mighty One bless you all.
Well done everyone, the thread of the year delivers scrotnig festive thrills once again.
Merry Christmas. :)
Fantastic work by all concerned!
Cheers
Great effort - many thanks to all contributors and especially to Pete for putting it all together.
Merry Christmas everyone!!
Well done to all the contributors, excellent work as always. Cheers to Pete, Stirling job, man. 😉
