I've got very little to go off other than it featured anthropomorphic animals in a fantasy adventure setting and isn't the Redwall series or Watership Down. I know it was a series of books and I think Rabbits seemed to play a big part. Any ideas what else it could have been?
Of course I could just be imagining things in my old age. That is possible.
Could it be the Spellsinger series by Alan Dean Foster?
I think the Animals of Farthing Wood was a book before a TV series?
