Just surfed thru the latest issue of CI in borders at lunchtime (God they must hate me in there).
Anyway not much of interest this month tbh, but I note that Dez Skinn reckons he has seen a big increase in interest in old UK comics & heroes in the letters & Q&A sections. I noted 3 references to 'Leopard from Lime Street' in this issue alone!
There was another ref. to a story I've never read - the Captain Britain/Black Knight run in 'Hulk Weekly' in 1979 (this linked the original Chris Claremont CB run to the Alan Davis/Alan Moore era). Anyway does anyone know if this story was any good ? I make try to pick up some back issues if thye were, as I've always had a soft spot for the character.
oh, and Bishops quit his column. Which is a bit of a shame as it was one of the few pieces of original content they had.
Yeh, what with TPO coming to a close and the CI column finishing, what next for the Bish ??
Plenty more stuff for the Megazine, or so I hear.
Had lovely art but the story was pish
Hopefully another panto!
:P

If he's about, why did you quit Dave?
And...
Has anyone heard anything about this comic Dez Skinn occasionally mentions?
You'll have to narrow it down a bit Paul, a lot get mentioned in CI.....
sorry, sorry, it's still too early for sarcy jibes.
mat
ps have some
good sarcasm though;-

I meant the comic that Dez Skinn mentions he's going to publish.
PVS - apparently its not a comic but a janky 'toy' based monthly review mag - like CI but focusing on 'action figures' and the like as far as I can see.
Shame 'cos apart from Rebellion he's the only person who *might* reprint old UK comics stuff I reckon. Indeed I think he mention somewhere in this issue of CI of thinking about doing just that but being too busy with this janky new mag.
Wasn't it a return of Warrior? If he's going for a new anthology then nothings better than using an already (slightly) established name.
Tat was mooted but fell by the wayside. The toy mag is the one going ahead.
To paraphrase the reviewer from a recent issue 'The Meg has Slaine by Mills, entertaining, and Black Siddhe by Mills, educatinal. Proof positive that you can't do both at once it seems.'
