Title: Blitzspear bites the dust
Post by: Capt.Zeep on 30 March, 2003, 08:42:08 PM
Yes, sad to relate, our 1987 silver Honda Integra, nicknamed Blitzspear by me (though Mrs. Zeep will insist on calling it Rhonda the Honda) has just about had it.  :(

Not to worry though, (& notwithstanding my rants elsewhere about gas guzzling anachronisms) it's being replaced by a 1986 BMW 316, no nickname yet but maintaining the 2k connection, the colour is Tornado red!  :)

Compromised hippy/petrolhead with a conscience Zeep

I also have that strange tradition of naming my cars after spaceships. I've driven (flown?) the Alexi Leninov, Yssigdril, Millenium Falcon and even Justice One.
I also jusy got a car a couple of weeks ago, a '98 Mondeo, as yet I haven't settled on a name.

How about 'Big Red One'?

How about 'Big Red One'?

That was a film wasn't it?  I seem to recall trying to watch it as a very pissed teenager.  Or am I being thick and it's something out of 2k from my missing years?
I have considered "Durham Red" but it seems a bit affected  :)

Oooh I can't wait, picking it up tomorrow...

Durham Red? That's a girls name, man!

Yeah, it was a war film IIRC with Mark Hamill and Lee Marvin in it. I was thinking of the baddie from Harry Twenty On The High Rock. Y'know, the big butch and hairy inmate... err, now I think, maybe Durham's better :)

You could always name it after "old RED eyes"...

Damn those flashbacks!!!
But what a cool icon.
