Anyone want to place a bet on how long it takes our friends across the ocean to make a film about her "story"?
A TV movie starring Shannon Tweed as Jessica Lynch and Tom Skerrit as Captain 'Rocky' Blitzer?
Unfortunately, the Hollywood cinema system doesn't really see an audience for female centred movies, unless they're 'romantic comedies'. The few others that do get made fall into the 'brassy woman does good in male-dominated capitalist system' genre.
My guess is this film will be made - but if they're going for a cinemtic release, someone like Josh Hartnett will lead the rescue and be given his own, at least equal plot-line. Probably involving mom and apple-pie.
'GI Jessica'... I've started on the script already!
Uh-oh. Gary said the "S" word!
Chuck him out!

Shannon Tweed is a magnificent piece of work.
I'd watch a movie with her (un)dressed in a uniform.
She's married to that git from Kiss. The really gittish one.
"She's married to that git from Kiss. The really gittish one."
No, that's still a little to vague for me DXB. Should I just have a guess? I've got a one in four chance of being right I suppose.
Jean Simmons.
Gene Simmons. Hah! His been in at least one stinker of a film. 'Runaway', set in the near future (of the 1980s, so that's 1996 or summat). Tom Selleck plays a cop who's an expert on robots. He just went to some night school classes and ended up knowing more than anyone else in the department. His technique for capturing robots. Simplicity itself. Throw a blanket over the blighter and smash it to smithereens with a chair.
Good fun. Good crap fun. And who wrote this tosh? Michael Crichton.
Gene Simmons plays an evil scientist who has a gun that fires bullets that home in on their targets. Bullet-eye camera work? Why of course.
I haven't spoiled it for you - there's plenty more cool bits.
