Well here we are after... well just 20 odds days and a massive... well actually 24 contenders we are down to the festive final and the last two covers.

One has been a hot favourite from the start. One has snuck out the groups and slowly built support. Both are so classically 2000ad and so wonderfully festive. All this we know, the only thing we need to find out is which is our favourite and which will be vanquished?
Voting starts NOW and ends first thing Christmas Eve, Thursday 24th December. Vote by simply popping the year you think has the best cover in a reply to this thread.
Any questions just ask.

My vote's for 1985, for wonderful memories of a gun made out of soap, and a bar of soap carved out of plastic explosive.
1984. For the little demon doll in the sled, and the burn marks already on the house roof, and the eyes peeking out from under the stockings on the mantelpiece... Bosch never did better.
1985
1985
1984
Both fantastic covers, and either would be a worthy winner, but I'm voting for Kevin's brilliant 1984 scare-fest.
1984
It's everything Christmas. It's everything 2000ad.
1984.
Sorry to see 1984 not in the final.
Those wraparounds are just stunning.
Rules be damned, I'm voting for BOTH. It's Christmas.

I will accept this vote as a gift to AlexF as I knick so much of his graft for the silly Tourney things. Anyone else try it and there'll be hell to pay!
1985.
This is really, really hard. I love both - they're both pure, bottled essence of 2000ad.
I'll go 1984, then, by a whisker - I like covers that don't have a connection to the stories inside, and this is one of the most original ones ever. The brief was probably just something like 'Do a Christmas cover.'
Absolutely 1984. Could that have appeared on ANY OTHER COMIC in the world?
SBT
Shaking Stevens stone cold classic Merry Xmas Everyone beats weird Bono 'tonight thank god it's them instead of you' to the number one spot.
84 for me. They're both awesome but the 84 cover is so creative, totally conjuring up a world all of its own. And that tips it for me.
1985
1985.
This is one of those weird votes in which I both entirely agree with my own vote and with everyone who voted for the other one.
1985

1984.

Its Christmas Eve tomorrow and we will wrap this up and have our favourite festive front - but it seems mighty close so far so any last minute votes might give one of these covers an early X-Mas present. Counting up in the morning.
1985
Two absolute beauties but I said in the first round that I couldn't imagine anything beating that Kev O'Neill cover and I was right. 1984.

And the winner is...

Man it was close but I make it
1984 - 141985 - 12
1985 did an incredible job after only just making it into the knockout rounds. But ultimately I think Small Blue Thing put it best

Yeah, can't argue with that result or with SBT's perfect summation.
Merry Christmas, Colin, and thanks for all the Tourneys!
Some great covers but with each Tourney only one winner is allowed. Thanks again for all these tourneys Colin
Missed the final, but it could only ever have been 1984.
Still looking for mint condition a copy of Prog 398 by the way - can pay in gold pressed latinum.
