Lawks above, if that wasn't the most depressing episode of Columbo.
Now Columbo has entertained me for years, and entertained me well. But like the fickle flibbertygibbert that I am my allegience to imported cop shows has moved on. Nowadays if it's not 'Monk' I'm just not interested.
You can just imagine the pitch "He's a homicide detective with Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder. He's 'Rainman P.I.'!".
Don't watch Monk, but...
Interesting Columbo fact:
William Peter Blatty claims that the character of Columbo is, in fact, base on his character Dec. Kinderman from the Exorsist. And if you read the book, you could almost be convinced, they are of similar character, even with the 'One more thing' thing.
Ahh the joys of day time tv... Starsky and Hutch in the morning and Murder She Wrote in the pm...
Columbo is one of the finest tv tec's ever. I NEVER tire of watching Falk bumble through each episode with is coat, cigar and dog in tow.
Just pure delight to watch.
I find the best time to watch Columbo is on a sunny Sunday afternoon just after a big lunch, just sitting there watching the master at work.
Are they still making the show? When was the last one made?
Have watched Monk, I doubt we'll see much more of him past the first season.
I assume this is "Monkfish"?
