Title: night hawks is it in the uk?
Post by: Devons Daddy on 17 April, 2003, 08:05:07 PM
saw the wonderful new show night hawks last night.

batmans daughter and batgirl in a wheel chair.15 years after batman left gotham.
dark & moody gotham is excellent,
tight background story. and plenty of great nods to all its history.
small line. bat mans daughter tells her shrink.i have a hobby like my father.its sort  of on the edge and gets a bit rough.
who is your father? Adam west. she replies. nice touch.a real sad comic fan boy nod.

the place they put the demented bad guys ,
ARKHAM ASYLUM. which looks like they took the dark night series and created the set form a page in the graphic novel.
is this show in the uk yet? if it is dont miss it. if its not there yet.
wait for it.truly a comic book on screen at its best.

best part of the pilot. the fight scene is in balck and white. with tiny splashes of colour here and there. it was 100% comic book style.no compromises.
very very good.

watch for it.

Nah, it's not emerged over here yet. It'll probably turn up on Sci-Fi.

I thought it was called "Birds of Prey", anyway?

Personally I love the 'Birds of Prey' comic but the changes made to the series make it sound a little too different for me.

Amazingly the B.o.P. comic is still running, someone at D.C. must love it despite the fact that it's never realy taken off. Let's hope that the new writer really kicks it into gear. She's promised to feature Ted Kord prominantly in the cast so that can only be a good sign for kids of the 80's like me.

So, I like super-hero comics. Want to make something of it?
