Title: Dan Abnett Recycles plots
Post by: Wood on 18 January, 2002, 05:56:58 PM
Every so often, I come across the Warhammer comic. It's mostly crap, but there's a good Gordon Rennie story (Kal Jerico) and Pat Mills' ONLY decent story since The Horned God (The Redeemer. The book is excellent, and very funny in a kind of 'Young Torquemada' kind of way).

But anyway, I came across this story in Warhammer 50, by Dan Abnett, about this this moody pointy-eared antihero, called Darkblade.

In the story, Darkblade is attacked by a hideously scarred future version of himself who comes back in time to kill him in order to spare himself a few centuries of misery.

Ring any bells?

(For the sake of completeness, I should say that the - frankly bloody awful - art was by Clint Langley, who perpetrated Dinosty and a couple of dreadfl Nemesis stories, if I remember rightly.)

Quite liked Clint Langley's art actually, but not the scripts for his work.
Probably in the minority again!
