Week 4 has the full range of ties. From probably one of the most one sided match-ups we will see this round... and when I say probably, I mean definitely. To a couple of absolute stinkers. There is as you might imagine plenty in between as well.
Two misunderstood monsters here, both springing from earlier thrills, though with very different routes. M.A.C.H.0 hasn't really had to flex its muscles up to this point having faced Black Atlantic and Valkyries. While Angelic has had a tough tie against Judge Death, needing a casting vote to progress.

Match ends early on the morning of Friday 3rd June and the winner gets a place in Round 4 (of 9!!!).

M.A.C.H.O
Angelic
My nostalgic soft spot for MACHI isn't hereditory but I'm liking Angelic a lot.
Angelic
Objectively, Angelic is heaps better. The art is astonishingly good, and the story puts character and atmopshere first, always the best thing about the Angel Gang. But goddamit if I don't have this inexplicable soft spot for 2000AD's answer to the Incredible Hulk. It helps a lot that there's Ramon Sola, Kev O'Neill and Mike Dorey on art, all pushing the boundaries of weirdness and body horror...

...because the stories are pretty silly, except that they, too, nail the emotional tenor of the character super well.
So yeah, a very close call but I'm voting MACH Zero to win, please.
I thought M.A.C.H. 0 was borderline unreadable at the time and on a re-read years back and can't imagine I'd want to revisit it. Angelic is excellent. It does ret-con the Angel Gang to a degree that makes it impossible to align with what we've seen previously. But, frankly, most of that was terrible anyway. I can happily have an alt-universe Rennie version live in my head when it's this good.
M.A.C.H.0
Glad I'm not alone in thinking M.A.C.H.0 was pretty dreadful.
I'm not a fan of reimaginings / reboots and I didn't like the concept behind Angelic... until I started reading it. It's really good - a compelling take on some classic characters and it looks superb, I hope it continues to run. Angelic all the way here.
Let's go M.A.C.H. 0
Mach Zero.
SBT
Angelic.
Cheers

Angelic
The early MACH 0 stories are one of the few things I've never read. I've only read the Progs 162 to 165 story. That wasn't great.
I'm not a big fan of Angelic but it's done enough to get my vote here.
Possibly unsurprisingly this one hasn't drawn the numbers and attention of other ties this round, but we've go a day to go to give either of these some love and I'll pop a result up in the morning.
VOTING CLOSED
This one didn't course much of a rumble and while Angelic has been great its clearly the wrong answer here. M.A.C.H.0. is clearly a forgotten classic lurching with effortless grace between crazied old skool poppycock to dark commentry with an easy that work and is helped by some lovely art. I love M.A.C.H.0 I really do. But I'm not surprised to hail
Angelic
as the winner here and it will get the chance to reimagine Round 4.
Round four's going to be a doozy.
