There might not be quite the level of thrills we had last week in Week 5, but it exemplifies just how tough this tournament is becoming. A middling week quality wise and we still get some right interesting ties and some really top draw thrills. It's only going to get harder folks!
I've said it before and I'll say it again Tao De Moto was a very interesting experiment in the Prog and one I personally would have loved to have been given a better chance... or lead to more of a similar nature at least. It's taken out Synnamon so far but will it have enough to take down our favourite Gunsharks. the odds seem stacked and they have gunned down Tales of Telguuth already so go into this with weapons already locked for bear...

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.
Match ends early on the morning of Saturday 11th June and the winner gets a place in Round 4 (of 9!!!).

Totally agree with your thoughts on Tao de Moto, Colin - but no way I'm not votin' for Sinister Dexter.
Sin Dex
Sinister Dexter.
Sinister Dexter.
It remains one of those strips that the Prog relies on, that can do shorts or one offs and can do longer stories and epics. Or indeed epics consisting of a series of shorts.
(Even if current scheduling is treating it more like filler).
Sin/Dex
I'm pretty sure Tao de Mato didn't exist before this thread was opened, so I'll skip this one.
tao de moto
SiniDex- sing it loud and proud honey, always SiniDex!
SBT
Sinister Dexter.
I mean c'mon.

Based on that recent Meg feature, no-one knows where Myra Hancock went, which presumably put paid to a thrill that wasn't exactly having readers clamouring for more. I liked it though. It's a pity it didn't get more time, because it was doing something different and interesting, during a period where the Prog itself had entered a tailspin.
Sin/Dex. Well, it's among my least favourite Abnett thrills, and its tendency to keep going on and on with increasingly convoluted resets is beginning to grate. Still, it has the edge here, albeit for me only marginally, and mostly because Tao De Moto just stopped.
Sin/Dex
Sinister Dexter.
SinDex is one off that has done every Marvel/DC regen possible, is morally reprehensible but has some good puns.
tao de moto was in interesting and alternative to the Macho fan boy gun culture of the time, a brave but useless show or compassion as Mr Weller would say.
SinDex
(i loved tao de moto. in fact i loved all myra hancock's indie comics and was really excited when she started working in the prog. if the saga had continued it really would have been something - somewhere between full tilt boogie and halo jones; with art from the underrated david hine - who had a rare ability in this strip to really animate talking heads into something wistful and intriguing, as well As a great sense of design. sinister dexter, on the other hand, is often horrible, and has been in a loop (often literally) for far too many years. imho).

I bloody love Sticky Fingers, apart from New Statesmen its my favourite thing from Crisis.
Tao de Moto was genuinely refereshing and great for about the first 12 episodes or so, but it got stuck in an irritating holding pattern of Sopalco being a bad guy / liar / good guy / arch-manipulator, and Tao herself seemed to have less and less to do as it went on. Of course every chance that Hancock could've turned the story around if she'd had the chance to do a second series instead of tying it all off in a Yearbook text story :(
Tao de Moto
While Sinister Dexter isn't getting its own way its got a clear lead here. We'll wrap this one up in the morning so get any last votes in today.
Sinister Dexter
It meanders a bit these days compared to the cool, sassy and quick-fire SinDex of old, but it's still SinDex for me.
VOTING CLOSED
Its great to see Tao De Moto get its due and get reflected on in ways its rarely does. As recent greats show 2000ad is often at its best when it does something that you don't necessary think naturely fits in the Prog. Brink, Thistlebone, Pandora Perfect etc etc and to do that some will fail. tao De Moto is such a great, brave failure though. So really pleased it ddin't get entirely lost in this. But come on
Sinister Dexter
deserves to go locked and loaded into Round 4 by a country mile.
