The ties in Week 6 are a bit of a mixed bag. A couple of very interesting ones that are hard to call mixed in with some very lopsided potential batterings and BOTH versions of Bill Savage making an appearance - but which will survive?
Tough draw this for Numbercruncher, a smashing thrill that has only had to see off Colony Earth and Survivor to get this far, and it made a chore of that latter tie somehow! Halo Jones made short work of Timehouse and is a different level of competition all together and surely one of two or three thrills that stands a realistic chance of taking the tourney as a whole. We'll see...

Just reply in this thread naming your favourite thrill of these two series at the beginning of your post (or use Bold tags so I can spot it easily) and say what you like about these wonderful stories after that.
Match ends early on the morning of Sunday 19th June and the winner gets a place in Round 4 (of 9!!!).

Halo Jones
I liked Numbercruncher and don't put Moore's work on a pedestal, but, well, Halo Jones.
Gotts say, I can't think of a thrill that would stomp all over Halo Jones, and only a handful that's give it a hard time.
Numbercruncher's cleverness and charm are present, but it's not a contest here...

..and it's Halo Jones for me too.
I'm going to be different and vote for The Ballad of Halo Jones.
I like Halo Jones well enough, but it's not quite a contender for the title in my book. There are at least 8 or 9 I'd vote for over it. Possibly more.
And I'm perfectly happy with the 3 books we got, and don't really hanker over getting any more. The ending of book three did neatly wrap it up and I can use my imagination for the rest.
Numbercruncher was fine and if I recall correctly, appeared at a time when the Meg was desperately in need of strong new strips. It was ok, but no more.
Halo
Sorry, Si. Sometimes life isn't fair. Halo.
Yup, Halo.
A day to go and the only surprise is this one won't be a whitewash - mind its good cos Numbercruncher is a very good thrill.
VOTING CLOSED
The only surprise here I suppose is that Halo Jones didn't get a shutout. However good Numbercruncher is, and it is a fantastic thrill it was always going to struggle getting votes here. And indeed it was all pretty cut and dry.
Halo Jones
will be serving vote on the grand ship Round 4.
