anybody else besides me find it really hard to read shakara and understand what the funt is going on? the artwork, it's not my sort of thing, i can't tell what's happening in the frames. i had the same problem with a lot of nemesis and the abc warriors. can someone please please explain what's happening in this strip. it's the same for the lsd story - only this time it's the plot that's atrocious and hard to understand. please assist because i can't live with only half a helping of weekly thrillpower.

Personally, I think the artwork on this is great.
As for what happens, Shakara turns up, does a number on the bad guys, says "Shakara" and err.. that's it. I like it though.
Bascially Shakara appears to be a hugely powerful freedom fighter, destroyer slavers and various intergalactic scum in a rather comic violent short story. I find the art all very exciting (as I enjoyed ABC warriors and Nemesis) but it looks like we could be in for another 'what's behind the mask story' which could be a bit irritating. I do like it though.
I'm glad someone else isn't completely ensared by Storming Heaven. Basically there is a good group and a bad group of people who have used hallucinogens to unlock the doors to a higher realm and gain super powers. There aren't really any characters to relate to and I think the idea is just to go with the flow, wherever that may be.
The only characters we really see anything much of are the bad guy, the good guy, the super foetus, his mother and a young girl, none of whom you really know anything about.
It think it's okay (yeah I know everyone is a critic) but just hope its going somewhere.
Paul, thanks for kind of breaking the ice with your post.
I pop in here every few days, read "some" of the posts, and really wanted to say that I like Shakara, it's very basic, but I do like the art and yes I do sense a "behind the mask story" in the wings.
But my main beef is "Stoming Heaven"... sorry but regardless of a backlash this is dull, I flick through the artwork (which is very good) but I simply can't take to the strip.
My own personal opinion of course, I'm sure there's lots of happy stomers out there.
Bring on "Leaving Rowdy"
Ed
I`m with you as far as the LSD story goes - all style, no substance there. However I like Shakhara. What`s to understand? He (or it) is a vigilante who rights wrongs and punishes evil doers; like Batman, Robin Hood and the Saint. We don`t know where he`s from or why he`s doing it yet. It remains to be seen if the explanation is any good.
Personally I like the art - the bad guys look so pointy!
yours damply,

Hmm, the behind the mask thing does make you think. Remember the good old days, when all there was was the Blitzspear and all 'someone' said was "Credo!". It does seem similar.
The artworks excellent too, I've always liked Henry Flint's work, even Sancho Panzer!!
The narrator for one of the chapters of Shakara seemed to be claiming responsability for Shakara. Maybe he'll return to his makers and we'll find out about him/her/it then.
At least, that's were I see it going.
Behind the Mask... Mek Quake?
They ar both Robots with limited Vocabulary - Big Jobs /Shakara and both like destruction!
