Yes, pop pickers John Carpenter has intonated that there might be a sequel to his celebrated 1982 classic The Thing. Is it true? We'll have to see.

This feels like something that definitely shouldn't happen.
I try to keep an open mind about these things. I mean just cos I can't think if a good way to continue a story doesn't mean smarter folks than me (you gotta hope!) can't... but in this instance... well its kinda hard to see how this will be in any way good.
Still let's wait to see, if it does actually happen.
If Pingu isn't in it, I'm not interested.
There were a couple of comic book sequels done by Dark Horse comics - one set in the Arctic with beautiful painted art by John Higgins and a follow up in the jungle IIRC. I'll have to dig them out, really enjoyed them at the time.
The two-part mini-series, fully painted by John Higgins, followed by 'Climate of Fear', with John H still on the covers but not providing the art inside. Just had a re-read, story stands up and the JH mini-series art is pretty mind blowing. Couple of covers uploaded below.
