Issue 2 of Solar Wind is well under way and has been invaded by girls' comics Screech!, Lunar Tides and Sunny for Girls. Something that Cosmic Ray is *not* happy about.
If anyone has specific memories of girls' comics from the 70s & early 80s please share them. They'd be greatly appreciated. Strips, adverts, free gifts; anything is relevant. The more genuine memories we get, the more 'authentic' we can make it. Likewise, if anyone would like to contribute, we have a Yahoo group at the link at the bottom.
Issue 1 is still available and ordering details are in the 'Files' section of the Yahoo Group for those that want to avoid receiving a Solar Blast from an angry Cosmic Ray!
Cheers

Whoever came up with the name 'Lunar Tides' for a girls sci-fi comic deserves a medal.
Just brilliant.

Can I just add that Issue 3 is in the pipeline as well and is slated to be Christmas-themed!!!
Contributions and/or ideas for this issue would be *greatly* appreciated.
'ang on I thought 3 was War themed?
"Aiieeee!" "Mach Schnell!" "For you Tommy the war is over" etc etc
chrimbo footie match between the lines?
Hmmm. Things may have changed, but I was under the impression that 3 was Christmas and 4 was War.
Better check wid da boss.
You are right Wils, #3 IS chrimbo, with war to follow.
Thats unless the world ends first, though eh :)

I'll be interested in conributing again, I'm fairly busy at the moment but if the next issue is a fair way off yet I'll see what I can do if you guys are keen still.

Bestest comic evah!
Cheers, Rotts. It'd be bad form if an editorial drone got his facts wrong. I was half expecting a Solar Blast to be heading my way.
If all goes well (which I can't see why not), issue 2 will should be ready for Dreddcon/Expo/WinterFest (not sure which one at the mo, though) and the Christmas issue will hopefully be out at.....well, Christmas. :)
Ah-hem. I think you'll find you left out one important event there...
3 is supposed to be Christmas and 4 War, however, if Christmas isn't really contributed to, then Christmas may be cancelled and we'll have a war instead.
Though any strips already done would turn up in the middle of next June as part of the summer special, so much like a sort of comic sausage factory, nothing would be wasted.
Christmas and War make comfortable bedfellows - how about a jointly themed issue?
I like it- the "It'll all be over by Christmas" issue.
Quality.
Yes, not that you have any bias in this GC, but it's a good idea ;)
I didn't want to kill Christmas for War, so any strip that isn't war could be a christmas story. Any war stories could be christmassy or not, it doesn't really matter.
