Title: WAKE - "Featuring" info for the profile pages
Post by: Oddboy on 25 July, 2003, 03:32:42 PM
Hi Wake,
I've just been reading Armoured Gideon "The Collector" (#889-899) - and it features many of 2000ADs earlier heros...

Bill Savage
Wolfie Smith
Angel
Shako
Giant ants from Ant Wars
Ace Garp
Nick the Meltdown Man
Agent Rat
Rick Random
Harry 20
Harlem Heros
MACH Zero

There are others I didn't recognise / can't remember now (most of these are only in like 1 or 2 panels but Bill Savage has a starring roll, and Shako & MACH Zero fairly large supporting rolls.

The whole thing's done much better then Helter Skelter by the way (it even goes black & white for couple of episodes inc. ++THRILL POWER MAXIMUM++ style phases. Class.)

Ah, so that's where Ennis got the idea for Helter Skelter from :o)

Is it me or should John Wagner get together with Ian Gibson and bring back Sam Slade.

It would be brill.

Thats a bit unfair - its obvious Ennis wrote Helter Skelter in the back of his school note books, well before the Armoured Gideon story saw print.

Nah, he ripped off "Behold The Beast", due for a reprint soon IIRC.
