Sky One 9pm ish, what a great film and the Sun's given it three stars. I'm cancelling my night out.
Are we thinking about the same Judge Dredd film here?
The one that stinks like poo?
No, we're talking about the one starring Stallone!
Exactly! It stinks!
Of poo!
I don't think this film smells of any bear. I don't know which film you are getting confused with, but this is the film starring Sylvester Stallone and was made in 1995. Was there one made starring Winnie the Poo that I missed and then flopped because the audience had to put up with the smell of a bear throughout. Anyway, I'm not surprised it flopped, as honey is full of sugar, which is illegal in the big Meg and another thing, Winnes got no chin.
Now don't email me while JD's on the big screen.
Watched it on Video last night, so I've beaten the rush!
It's really not as bad as it seems.
Stallone really isn't believable as Dredd, but the judges on the whole are pretty good, the Angel gang are good, the giant stompy robot is good, Rico (while not really being 'Rico') is a brilliant baddie.
It's a pretty good film, it just doesn't seem like Judge Dredd, that's all.
I think if you switch off all references about Dredd its basically a "reasonable/Good" (delete as applicable) Sci FI romp. Unfortunatley it wasnt a good Dredd film!!!
My kids enjoy it. I dont really.
Yer SLips
If you skip the fact that it's a travesty of a conversion, it's still a mediocre film. It looks okay, but the plot is hackneyed and dull, and some of the "special" effects are awful, such as the flight sequence.
Judege Dredd would make a great adult cartoon. If only Rebellion would get the rights from Disney.....
Disney's rights to Dredd lapses ages ago (around the time Rebellion bought 2000AD), because they didn't bring out a sequal within a specified period.
Wake
So whos got the rights now?
Are they automatically owned by Rebellion?
It seems so.
Disney had the rights before. Wtf did they do with them?
