...is this board going to be flooded by 'newbie' gamers asking thread after thread of questions about where power ups are, or on multiplayer so and so was using an aimbot to cheat, etc, etc?
Rebellion do seem to be advertising this site a lot, and certainly the noumber of boarders is increasing, but is this going to be the official game forum? If so, and if the game is as popular as some FPS, then my suggestion is that we hve a second message board, dedicated totaly to game discussions.
I'm not sure that this board would exactly be 'swamped' but things could change, and the message board equivalent of a 'friendly pub', as I've heard it described, could turn into a trendy bar that serves terrible amounts of spam... And as good as this forum is, it's not as advanced as other sites that deal with popular games.
Well, it's a public forum, so it's open to all.
We'll just have to welcome them. Hopefully they might also check out info on the comics round here and pick up a copy.

Still reckon a second board purely for the game is the answer. It makes sense, as people discussing the comics may not want to talk game, and game players my have no clue what we gibber about.
This is a local forum for local people.
Jacob actually makes a good point here about the game.
From a personal point of view, Im not actually bothered about the game and wether its release date has been put back or that there are enough cits moving in the background or the vampires are an overused cliche, etc, etc. Sure Ill probably buy it at some point so I can play Dredd.
Im just wondering how many others are excited or are filled with antipathy like me. Itll be nice for a good game to be out there, it may bring in more readers.
But for me its hardly essential or important, Ill still read the prog as long as they keep on putting it on our shelves.
Yer "Ill go and hide in the corner now" Slips
Can't we all just...get along?
I wouldnt worry too much dude. As long as any game question threads are labelled as such, then they can be avoided if needs be.
I welcome them, as im crap at computer games and will need all the help i can get!
Monday morning paranoia from Jake.
Perhaps it might be useful to have another message category: "Dredd V Death" or somesuch.
Whatever happens, the board will continue and most of us will probably still be here, arguing about whether SinDex is shite and shouting, "I'M THERE!" for no good reason.

What you meqn we might have to talk about stuff that?s ON TOPIC? :-)
I reckon we should welcome any and all new boarders genuinely interested in the game (as opposed to, y'know, various trolly types) with open arms. I suspect their more likely to naturally drift over to the various game forums though.
I imagine there will be some influx from people who've picked up the game, as 2000ADonline is fairly well branded on the game and associated marketing stuff, but I think, as Art says, a lot of people will also use forums such as Eldritch's one, as this is very specific to the game.
Hopefully new people will be coming here wanting to find out more about the character and the comic as well as game stuff, so play nice with the newbies, folks. :)
Let's steal their dinner money and call them Scojo.

And ask them if they've seen the blue goldfish.
A new category might be in order. However, Dredd vs Death is too specific. How about 'Computer Games', 'Software' or just 'Games'?
There is a dedicated board already for Dredd vs Death...
Link: Judge Dredd: Dredd VS Death
Just keep this thread permanently alive & in the top 15 threads. On arrival, they'll read it, and that'll help them remain 'umble.
When the movie (look, it happened. Deal with it) was released, did this board (if it existed at the time of the movie) or the alt.comics group get flooded with newbies who'd never read the comic?
I'm stuck on the Judge Mortis boss at the end of level three. None of my bullets except Double Whammy have any effect. And when I hit him with that he turns into this ghost thingy and possess me. Anyone help?
Matt;
Did you remember to set the extraction fan to max in the room two before you end up facing mortis. This then sucks him up into the pre-prepared boing capsule that you should have created near the beginning of the level.
Anything to be of help,
WoD.
Wondered what the huge fan was for. I'll have ago now. Did anyone else notice Judge Scojo on the Mega-City Docks level? Apparently if you clear the level by arresting all the perps then you're rewarded with a page from Scojos screenplay. Can't wait to unlock the bonus Screenplay reader!
Y'know, if you kind of squint, MK13s icon kind of looks like Patrick Moore as Gamesmaster...
"Y'know, if you kind of squint, MK13s icon kind of looks like Patrick Moore as Gamesmaster..."
Hey kids, this is why lunchtime drinking is a bad idea.
And anyway, it doesn't look like Patrick Moore, it looks like that annoying robot dog from Battlestar Galactica.
As long as it doesn't look like you.
