Title: Not happy with 2000AD merchandise ...
Post by: longmanshort on 29 September, 2003, 06:38:06 PM
ALERT ALERT! SEVERE PETTINESS WARNING! ALERT ALERT!

Now look, my Death mug has only been in the dishwasher twice but already the pattern has faded to buggery! (the second time wasn't my fault ... damn housemates)

Could we possibly have a warning on the shop page in future?

Hmmm, yeah, if the mugs aren't actually dishwasher safe, we probably ought to have a heads-up up somewhere onsite.

I'll get something sorted.

I've run my Mean Mug through the machine a couple of times and it still looks good.  At the risk of getting into a detergent comparison thread; I think we use finish 3-in-1 tablets.

Don't know if that helps.

instead of getting all uptight.
sit and think about it. queitly place your death mug in close proximatey to your house mates mugs leave the room. allow you death mug to PASS JUDGEMENT UPON YOUR HOUSE MATES MUG. in the morning the other purged of all sin will be a pail image of your full coloured, and strong DEATH MUG.

justice will have been served, all other mugssss willl bee in AWE.

Yeah, we know many of our readers and creators come from the land of ice and snow, hence the wide range of fleeces and hats in the shop (not to mention the Tharg hoody).

Hopefully when our designers have a chance to work on some new t-shirt designs, we'll look at doing a longsleeve or two.

I have long given up on buy such things, because normally:

Current fashions dictate XL is just about able to fit an Action Man.

XXL is made to fit fat bastardos, not mere slips like me ;)

after a couple of washs promo stuff shrinks or just hangs like a pair of cheap Union Jack boxers on a lads tour of Benidorm.

promo stuff looks stupid on a 42 year old ( anit that the truth!)

I would definitely buy a polo shirt or two, especially in black.

Just remember to have stocks of my size, officially known as "hulking great butch fish king," or simply "fat bastard."

Hmmm, it may not be too difficult to do more polos, as they'd use the same embroidery as the beanies and fleeces.

Okay, just to gauge interest, how many of you lot would be interested in embroidered polo shirts? Also, everyone happy with black as the colour?

Black.

I love my Rogue biochip beanie, and would love it on a polo shirt.

The Dredd badge would work, obviously, but it's too recognisable, IMO, and I might not get one.
But the Mean dial would be great.

Other possibilities: Tharg's dial; a Psi badge; the Alpha SD badge (which was cool on a fleece); someone's gurning face, like Ukko, Nemesis or Ro-Jaws; or a full pic of someone small, like Grobbendonk.

Given it's just a wee pic, the fun possibilities are endless - and are far more wide than just the 2K logo.

I'm not convinced that subtle is the way to go with T-shirts or Polo-shirts.  I like my Superman T-shirt with the big 'S' logo on the front and would quite like a Green-Lantern T-shirt with the ring emblem as a big logo.  I think these work cause they are big and in-your-face-and-bold, plus the 'S' is pretty bloomin iconic and the ring emblem is just a bit different.  So maybe a T-shirt with the 3 GI Dog-Tags (like the welcome icon on the webpage frontpage) would be nice.

Failing that, just give me a Dredd Beach Towel.  Pls.

And Trout; Yes to the SD badge, but big and bold on a t-shirt.  And it doesn't have to always be a bloomin black t-shirt or we all end up looking like teenage rock fans.

something a bit specail can be worn anywhere. especailly  on the golf course. and is slightly rebellious.

Of the patches currently available on beanies and fleeces, I'd go with a Rogue biochip.

Black would be fine, though since it's Rogue, navy blue might be a better colour.

Also on my fantasy list o' merchandise:
Leviathan - Ship in a Bottle
Strontium Dog - mutie in a jar

I bought a Durham Red fascia from this 'ere website not too long ago. Advertised for the Nokia 3310, all fine n dandy when it arrived. Hurrah, thought I, I can at last change my spidey one for something else.

Oh ho.

Not only does it not fit the phone properly, never clicking into place and sliding off at innopportune moments, but of all the fascias I've had it is the ONLY one that has become chipped to bloody buggery within mere weeks of purchase. The paintjob just won't stay on it and I am left with a phone that looks like I fling it around the flat each morning before I go to work.

Shan't be buying another one of them, then!

I've got the Judge Death one...yeah it was tricky to get on at first - but once it was on it fitted okay.

It is scratching off a fair bit though, especially on the edges.
Anyway it's probably about time I hassled the phone company for a superduper upgrade, so It'll have to lose its Toothyness sooner or later.

"Reckon we could do em in another colour, but they say the lighter the better."

Just a theory, but if you painted the part of the T-shirt that the patch goes on with white acrylic (or some other non-washable pigment), would that enable you to use black T-shirts?

In the likely event of the paint burning under the iron, could the same idea work if you bleached the part of the shirt that would have the patch?
