2000AD Extreme Editions
Vol. 2 ? Definitive Maybe
The second 2000AD Extreme Edition will be published on Wednesday 10 December, priced ?2.99.
Extreme Edition 2: Definitive Maybe, collects every strip from 2000AD featuring juvie homicidal genius
PJ Maybe . Maybe, heir (by a process of elimination) to the fortunes of Mega-City One clothing company Emphatically Yess, suppliers of uniforms to the Justice Department, has been a perennial thorn in Dredd?s side.
Hiding his devious, murderous urges behind the fa?ade of a none-too-bright child, Maybe managed to hide his activities from old stony face for longer than many a notorious MC1 criminal, and even on the occasions when he has been caught, he has been able to turn his mind to ingenious methods of escape. And of course, being a methodical young man, he writes down his achievements in his diary.
PJ Maybe was created by veteran 2000 AD writers John Wagner and Alan Grant, and artist Liam McCormack-Sharp, and over the course of nine 2000 AD stories, the character has seen contributions from writer Garth Ennis and artists Anthony Williams, Peter Doherty and Ben Oliver as well as the original creators. Extreme Edition 2 collects every one of these appearances behind a brand new cover image by Cliff Robinson.
La Placa Rifa,
W. R. Logan.
I loved the PJ Maybe tales.
I just recently reread the Confessions of... story. Great fun.
I think I shall buy this.
PJ Maybe?
"worst returning Dredd villian ever"
Can some tell me who Keane is? Or is this Troll teritry again. If so I withdraw my question your hounour
Philt?
Worst judge of the quality of Dredds recurring villains.
Perhaps the quotation marks mean that Philt doesn`t believe it. Anyway, Maybe is terrific. I don`t know who IS the worst returning villain but it isn`t him.
yours freezingly,
Floyd

>p.s. nice pic by the Cliffster, is that new?
yes
This is great news.
PJ Maybe is perhaps the ultimate Dredd villain.
He's not mega powerful. Dredd would have him in one go - but PJ knows it.
The fun of the PJ stories is that he is always one step ahead of Dredd without ruining it all by being a maniacal I-want-to-rule-the-world Nero Frendz type.
For this reason, I think the best story is to be told: PJ for CJ, as I've suggested before.
This could be a cracker if PJ played true to form. He could be a clever Cal (and maybe the simalarities are such the story would never be written) - so long as he did nothing overtly wrong, others would love him and Dredd would be frustrated in any effort to bring him down.
As an aside, I remember thinking that PJ was something special from the Bug story. It's one of the few tales I quote. Even now if asked "Do you know?" I, to rather confused looks ,answer "I know lot's of things. Cat's cradle!". Isn't that from some dowdy prog or other? (534?)
As Alan Partridge would say:
"Back of the net!"
- Trout
PJ ! yahoo! Kaching! Cashback!
PH
This and Prog 20004 should keep the thrillsuckers at bay this christmas!
Best PJ Maybe quote is the bit where he talks about the supervillains in Dredd's world. He disses them individually and en masse, as being too stupid to realise that they could have a very nice life with their powers and intelligence, so why bother trying to take over the whole planet? Great comeback from whoever wrote that bit to all the fans who wanted PJ to turn into the next supervillain himself.
534, yes... I think that's the one.
Excellent cover from the Cliffster there.
Anyone know if this will be available at DreddCon the week before?
