Title: Riddick
Post by: Mangamax on 02 January, 2004, 01:33:32 PM
Got the trailer for "The Chronicles Of Riddick" - the Pitch Black sequel - at work and its kind of odd.
For one, there's hardly any clear shots of Vin Diesel in it. And its incedible how design-wise its looks like Mark Harrisons Durham Red. Kid you not, the whole thing looks like the Vermin Stars.

Well I think that sounds good, always thought Pitch Black had a bit of a Gothic decidedly unfuturistic look and feel to it. I love anything set in a futuristic society where they forgot how their tech works.(Warhammer 40k brillianty realised future hell)

Pitch Black remains, for me, one of the those little sci-fi gems that doesn't make a massive splash when it gets here but it sound nonetheless. A thoroughly enjoyable sci-fi 'thriller' and I look forward to the sequel with interest - so long as it's not just xXx in space!

Mangamax - any chance of a link to the trailer?

Same here LMS - and David Twohny other film, The Arrival, was similar! Overshadowed by Independence day, but used far more innovative CGI techniques (look at the aliens!) and was a brilliant film! Riddick is great, can't wait for this film (series).

Presence of Judi Dench: Good.
Presence of latex clad chicks: Good.
General style and whambamthankyoumaamness: Good.

Terrible feeling that it looked an awful lot like Matrix:Reloaded and Blade II: Bad, very, very, very bad!!!!
