Well, they are having another go at contacting Beagle 2, via Mars Express which is now in the right position to communicate with beagle and we should know by about 3pm.
I love all this stuff, it's like watching people play with million dollar Big-Tracks (which was fucking useless, I had one and it was a huge dissapointment).
Anyway, I'm hoping that it succeeds and the human invasion of mars continues apace.

So could this be the first piece of human rubbish* that's been sent to/dumped on Mars, or have there been other lost probes?
Will the first explorers be given the task of tidying up?
*(Not that Beagle 2 was/is rubbish it's just its default designation if it doesn't work)
People have sent loads of probes to Mars, only two Viking Probes and two modern USA probes (another one on the way) have ever landed.
The USSR couldn't land on the red planet and the US lost plenty as well in the attempt. Two from a few years back didn't make it.
Mars is just a bugger to get to, most probes are lost. It's a shame really.
Still a chance Beagle 2 is okay, but this was the big opportunity to find it, they'll give up in a month or so.
Y'know where the problem was? The name.
I mean, Beagle 2? It's a bit of a crappy, pansy name, isn't it?
They should have called it something more macho, like Intrepid Explorer, or even something a bit dodgy, like Mars Penetrator, to give us all a laugh.
