CEOs are all idiots. The more I come into contact with the inner workings of large corporations the more I come to the conclusion that they get that way by pure blind lack alone and that the people who run them are know-nothing fools who make decisions at random. In fact I'm,begining to suspect that having a single sensible thought in your head actually gets in the way of business success in some way.
Anyway, I watched the end of the Spooky Spooky Woo Woo show instead. It was shit.
It may come as no surprise, but I've had the 'honour' of spending some time with top academics recently. While, yes, they are clever, they're nothing special. The difference between them and the others seems to be having the fortune to be in the right place at the right time with the right set of people/contacts.
The more you get inside any organization, the more ordinary everyone seems and mundane their 'superhuman' activities become.

I did not mean, 'it may come as no surprise to learn that I am an arrogant arse,' as you might reasonably read into the above.
