Title: Offspring imminent!
Post by: James on 21 March, 2004, 06:16:03 PM
Well today's the day that my new child is due to be born. I don't have any names yet although I know it's a boy.

Wish us luck.

Dear God!! They're breeding!!! We have to stop them before they procreate out of all control ...

good luck  !!!

poor Mrs James, its at this point the waiting becomes unbearable, the people around watching her like a hawk for any signs of cramps or 'nesting' behavior, or extra energy, or not enough energy, the pressing pain against the ribs, the aching feet, every braxton hix contraction bringing an adrenalin rush of fear & anticipation, every visit to the loo the expectation of some sign...

ARghHH ! hope sproggy comes soon & easy & well.

All the best James, you must be shitein' yerself at the moment.

As for a name, Umpty has a nice ring to it, don't you think.

(please resist any jokes about Umpty's ring).

Good luck!
In my experience, the whole birth experience wasn't too bad... no pain at all, in fact.

I'll give you fifty quid if you give the child the middle name of 'X'.

Also, congrats and God bless.

You know you've got to call him James Jr, it's a strong name that will see him do well in life.

If you haven't guessed it's my name as well :)

Congratulations and good luck!

Looks like 2000AD has officially reached that age - perhaps it should have a good parenting/baby photos page.

dinnae worry therev, after 6 weeks it settles down a lot, & then its nice for 6 months, then its reasonable for 2 years, then it gets difficult, then harder, & harder, then between 7 & 12 its nice again, then its hell. then worse. My son was in court this week. happy joy.

should i be banned from the good parenting tips, happy shiny baby photos thread ?

okay okay i'll get my coat....

James: hope all goes well.

Just dont do what my brother did:

Wife in labour, everything going okay, nips out for a fag for five mins. Bumps into Peter Kaye (yes, THAT Peter Kaye) in the corridor. Gets chatting about their impending Dad-dom and re-emerges 1/2 hour later with a photo on his phone. Caught birth by about ten minutes to spare.

Can you guess what he was more eager to tell me about?

And the best bit is that the photo is only of the top of both of their heads. My brother the plank.

Bolt-01. Father of 3, about to play HeroClix with eldest.

All the best James!

If it's a girl- Halo.
If it's a boy- Rico.

Oh yes, and every child of the board should have a 2000ad based name follwed by X followed by Squaxx.

Cheers all. It's a boy. It's my second. I'm dead nervous. My wife had a problematic labour first time round. We're seeing a surgeon on tuesday to hopefully get an appointment for a ceasarian.
