Anyone willing to do art duties on a short script for me? Entitled "Bolt-01 in the Valley of Spiders, Flesheating Robots, Dinosaurs, American Special Forces and Other Really Nasty Stuff". Don't worry - it'll be short.
Seriously, I think your Whistler strips are getting better with each outing. Whistler's voiceover in particular is one of the best bits of scriptwork you've done (particularly "maniac and a drunk" and the bit about the peace of war). The plotting works neatly as well (unlike the first episodes I didn't need to re-read).
What I would do a bit more work on is dialogue, in particular on contractions. E.g. "The kid is already gone", and "they have nothing that can hurt me" - in an urgent situation like this it would normally come out as "kid's already gone", "they've nothing". It could actually work for the Trout cos of the expressionless face and anti-heroic status, mind you!
Liked the use of colour.
Overall, the most enjoyable Whistler to date - and a damn good read!

When the guy gets his head turned backwards he only looks mildly perturbed by this development - personally I'd be more put out by my sudden demise and would hope to communicate this with some kinda death grimace. :)

My only quibble is a little bit of dodgy dialogue in Head Bag:
"WHAT! Look my in the face and tell me that it is none of my concern!"
Other than that, A1, triple-platinum hell yeah! This is the first time with any kind of fan-work has got me in anticipation for the next part!
Cheers Yawl, thanks for the critique Dud! Dialogue is something I'm working on, and the contractions probably would make more sense.

Dudleys death was very quick, his lack of expression was part of that, if he had realised what was gooing to happen he would have grimaced more, but as his neck was snapped with enough force that his body hadn't begun to turn, I figure it was quick.
Endjinn: The early epsides are about to undergo a re-write for a printed edition of the full story. The early strips were hand lettered, and badly at that! The strips have had a tidy up in the art department and hopefully I'll have the whole thing ready for Dreddcon this year.
I just need to get the last episode done before then, so it can be here first.

Get yerself over to www.blambot.com for some good free fonts (free for non-commercial use at any rate) and get that sucker relettered (and for the love of god, no coloured lettering - it's distracting from the luverly artwork). In the meantime, I'm not reading it as I'm waiting on the trade.

Great work, though. I'd echo Dudley's comments on the dialogue. There are a few bits that jar, but the McNulty bit makes up for them, it was a lovely little character beat.
So when's the next one ready?

I've only got the vague plot so far, I know where its set and I have a good idea of how to do it, but I can't decide about the end,
I suppose the crunch will be whenever Dreddcon is announced. I must have the strip on-line before Dredd-con, as this is where the main body of work is. That way I won't feel bad about re-mixing the story for print.
Got the cover nailed though!
