Also Hi StaticGirl - I'm new here myself but they seem a friendly bunch! Is that a recommendation?

Just lulling you into a false sense of security, Sax.  ;)

Speaking of false security: I've started selling cheap knock-offs of Dante's Huntsman to Japanese schoolgirls. Will I get into trouble with trading standards?

I was looking at todays TV listings and noticed that tonight the BBC are broadcasting "Sports Personality Of The Year".

Surely that is an Oxymoron ?

nah, probably just a regular moron.

And you were right! Was that a lucky guess or did you have inside information? :)

I'm part South African (irrelevant to a degree as I'm white and apparently not African), part Scottish, part English and part Norwegian...so I guess that makes me a Saxon too, or in my case an Afro Saxon :)

Then you belong to the race who invented the words ****, *****, ***** and ****. You can be very proud of such a heritage :)

Also don't forget the Celt when claiming your ancestry! I have a Celt deficiency myself. . .

welcome - is that you in the pic? altogether now - aaaaaaaah!

Don't try and deny it - you have a similar picture :P (No, we don't need to see it, it's like gravity - it just needs to exist)

Howdy Stranger!

I'm going to pimp Halo Jones as well. Not a recent strip but still awesome and the three collections are a great addition to any bookshelf.

Hi Kudos - nice nickname! You'll go far with that one :D

Were you a Halo Jones lover or hater on first sight?

Hi Skabenga!
The difference is that Britain is Great whereas the Kingdom is  merely United (*snort*). There's some geographical differences too - nothing important though :Þ

I appear to be Saxon, pretty much as far back as we have researched. That's a coincidence because I had no idea when I picked this nickname way back on my first board (Cix - still around and twitching gently) in 1995. Back then I had secretly believed I was Russian and feared I would prove to be French. . .

When you read Bullshitters 48 posts you soon notice his weird contradictions, anyway I wonder what lunatic will join next ;D

Sounds like my cue :P

General / Re: When does a fan approach Halo Jones?

I absolutely loved Halo Jones when it came out and book two and book three completely blew my fuses. "I could blow . .  her little head . . right off." *shiver*

Can't recommend it highly enough. Also there's a lot of humour in it and social commentary that is still relevant (,aybe more so). Love it to bits.

Hi J3zz3r! They're a friendly bunch here so it's worth taking a peek at the other forums too!

I have huge piles of old progs and I keep saying to myself "these are worth a bob or two" but I never seem to be able to bring myself to part with them. In fact I reckon it's time to fetch them out (carefully) and let my little boy loose on them. Some of the modern issues are a bit too racy for a 10yo boy I think.

"Meat-based" you say? I have a garage freezer full of . . *ahem* . . "Long Pig" - would that do? You can pick out the buttons and cycle clips and what-have-you or I can mince it - your call.

(Drivin' too fast, drivin' too hard, but otherwise they slip off the spikes! I mean, you aren't allowed to stop and pick up "roadkill" but if it's still there when you get home it's fair game I guess.)

Evenin' Colin! Nice friendly place this! (had to laugh then - my 'r' key went AWOL and I almost posted it before I noticed). I mean the forums might be "fiendly" but I would never say so until I know you all a bit better.
