Off Topic / Bloody virus. >:(
17 December, 2005, 12:55:09 AM
If anyone receives any dodgy or odd emails from Malchi and I, please ignore them. I've caught a fucking virus that's going apeshit sending out emails.

You can stop laughing now, Eyebrows, you evil git. ;)

A *fantastic* EE this and a great cover from Henry.

My bizarre memory kicking in made me realise that the dialogue on the last page of the first episode differed from the reprint in the 83 annual, which I'm assuming is the unedited page from Trigo's issue 0 version.

It's a shame that the quality of the colour page is really poor compared with the rest of the EE. Maybe a bit of jiggery with the 83 annual version (which was uncoloured) may have been possible...

Just noticed that these were added to the Forbidding Prices Incidentally website 3 days ago. Any news on the whys and wherefores and if we're actually going to see series 2 or not? I was really looking forward to getting the Rogue figure.

Off Topic / Live Publishing...dead?
16 September, 2005, 06:04:35 AM
Does anyone have any idea what's happened to Live Publishing? They've not released any mags since July and their messageboards have been shut down. Apart from the Prog and Meg, the only other thing I get regularly is Live's Retro Gamer magazine.

At *last*, this is making its way onto DVD (albeit region 1).

Now all I need are the 3 Fant?mas films from the 60s to be released with English subtitles.

Cut and pasted with no shame from today's IMDB news.

"Actor Warren Beatty is suing a US newspaper publisher for $30 million in damages, claiming he still has the film rights to Dick Tracy and plans to shoot a sequel. Beatty, who starred in and directed the 1990 movie, based on the classic comic strip, is seeking the cash payment from Tribune Co. and an official ruling that he still owns film and other rights. According to the complaint, which was filed on Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Beatty obtained film, television and other rights in Dick Tracy from Tribune in a 1985 agreement. In the suit, Beatty claims that Tribune then moved to reclaim the rights in 2002, in violation of various notification procedures. The first Dick Tracy film was the ninth highest grossing for 1990, raking in $100 million that year."

General / New Justice Department technology
22 February, 2005, 08:11:50 PM
Stumm gas, cling nets, Birdie lie detectors, riot foam, Mantas, Lawmasters, Lawgivers; Mega-City 1 Justice Department has a plethora of distinctive technolgy at its disposal to help bring perps to justice. What new technology would you suggest to help the Judges fight crime?

I'll start with...

Tazer Chips - a shock for re-offenders

Injected into the base of the skull of violent perps on release from the Cubes, these tiny chips are capable of emitting an electrical pulse to the nervous system, inducing temporary paralysis (although there is a slim chance of it causing a mild case of death in some cases). This will be controlled by the PSU, who will initiate the pulse if a perp caught on camera triggers a flag on their database of chip-bearers. They will then inform the closest Sector House or RESYK collection depot, depending on the chip's effect.

Help! / Font crisis
01 December, 2004, 10:08:44 PM
Has anyone got the font 'Lucida Handwriting' for Mac that they could send me in a hurry, please? I've got a proof to get out this afternoon, and the bloody thing's disappeared on me somehow. :(

If anyone has, could you send it to mark(at)myword.co.uk please? It'd be *greatly* appreciated (I stress that gratitude will *not* be shown in any bizarre sexual practices).

Thanky muchly.
