Megazine / MEG 321 - American Reaper , sexy ostriches?
22 February, 2012, 10:32:25 AM
Not really a review , I'll leave that to better wordsmiths - my problem is that my issue came today but without a floppy copy of Death Planet. Anyone else got there copy without it?

General / DEAN BEATTIE COMMISSIONS AVAILABLE
01 February, 2012, 06:35:31 PM
Here is a copy and paste from Dean Beattie on Facebook -
I'm trying to get myself a few commissions on the go.

Most people who commission me want versions of themselves and their friends in the style of the 'Superhero Party' pics I did a while back.

THIS IS PART OF THE ORIGINAL IMAGE:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/oldstudent/party_bats_hulk.jpg

THIS IS AN EXAMPLE OF A COMMISSION I DID FOR SOMEONE WHO WANTED A SIMILAR PIC - FEATURING HIMSELF AND HIS GIRLFRIEND.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v299/oldstudent/olly_ted_storm.jpg

I charge £20 per character in the picture.

What you get for your money:

The original, painted image (I paint in acrylics) on Bristol Board (A4)
A hi-res pdf file that you can print at your end.

Info:

I will show you pencils for approval before I start painting.

Postage is additional.

I accept payment by paypal only (address will be given at time of order).

Um....and I think that's it.

Please direct message me with your queries.

Cheers!

Dean

Sooo you could have you and your mates in 2000AD guise for just £20 each person!
He does great , original art as well so it's well worth it.
These are the ones he's just sent me:

Incidentally these are available from Dean as A4 prints or a group shot panorama print.

General / Help with a Kevin Levell commission
30 June, 2011, 09:59:48 PM
If you remember back when Commando Forces asked for dialogue for his Kevin Levell commission , well now it's my turn.
Below is the line version of the commission - it has yet to be coloured - and I'm stuck for what Dredd and Alpha should be saying. It can either be just Alpha , just Dredd or a line each - whichever works best. The commission is based upon an unofficial encounter in the Radlands just after Judgement Day and the two are in a bit of kerfuffle. My only stipulation is to try and connect the dialogue with the Wizard of Oz if possible , as that's what I asked for in the commission - hence the scene. Winner gets an imaginary cookie and my grateful thanks.

This is my latest commission from David - A2 and fully painted - His turnaround is unbelievably fast!  I won't gush anymore here as the picture says it all for me . My fave villains and a bit of Anderson nip-poke - what more can I ask for?

Help! / CAN ANYONE FILL IN THE GAPS?
26 June, 2011, 02:04:44 PM
I've put up on Facebook a set of playing cards I bought at Bristol ComicCon back in 2001. Trouble is I don't know who they all are. If anyone wants to pop along via this link and suggest possible names that'd be good. I was going to post the unknown ones here but I think this'd be easier. Thanks.

Off Topic / Arseface t-shirt
23 June, 2011, 09:23:38 PM
Thought I'd post this here as well as my Facebook as I only have a few of you from here on it. As I make t-shirt prints for a job , I made an Arseface one from the cover of Preacher #38. I asked Glenn Fabry did he want one as he painted the cover with it on and he said yes! They only went off today so I've yet to hear his reaction  :-\
This is my one - Glenns went off on a better quality shirt  ;)

Classifieds / DAVID MILLGATE ART FOR SALE
15 June, 2011, 07:25:05 PM
David has asked me to post these three paintings here. They are all A2 fully painted and for sale @ £400 each.
This is his email address if anyone is interested. David.millgate@tiscali.co.uk
The Hammerstein and Mean/Dredd were at Bristol and are just fabulous in the flesh. If I had the money I would snap these up in a shot. I'm sure Pete Wells will attest to how good these paintings are , let alone on A2!
He is also doing commissions at the moment so get in touch via the same email as well if you want one doing.

Enjoy..

Film & TV / SMALLVILLE FINAL SEASON
07 June, 2011, 10:38:18 PM
Did anyone else watch this tonight? Excellent show as always and sad to see this it's final series. Was that
Darkseid
perhaps at the end. It would make sense seeing as
'Something Dark is coming...'
. I also wonder if we'll see the
original Lex Luthor
back as well.

Film & TV / Superman - Man of Steel
28 March, 2011, 01:42:29 PM
The new Superman film next year has now cast the absolutely gorgeous Amy Adams as Lois Lane alongside Henry Cavill as Supes - Red haired girls are the tops!!
Whether or not it will be any good is anyones guess - If it's better than the reboot Superman that'll do.

Classifieds / S B Davis artwork help
08 March, 2011, 02:12:22 PM
Can anyone help with identifying some artwork that I have decided to sell?
I bought it many years ago from Silver Acre , and it's a montage featuring 7 characters including
Dredd and Karyn in 7 vertical strips. I'm sure it's from a Meg issue. The artwork is by SB Davis and
is dated 1994.
When it is finally identified , can anyone give me an idea how much I should ask for it?
I paid £550 for it and it hasn't been displayed or anything. I really want the money to put
towards something and have reluctantly decided to part ways with it.
