Film & TV / South park in the 25th century!
25 February, 2007, 07:20:19 PM
Did anyone else see the go god go two parter which was shown on paramount the other night with that awesome buck rogers parody in it?

Cartman tried to freeze himself to get a nintendo wii and inadvertantly ended up in the 25th century. They even did a parody of the opening of buck rogers

General / The meg:doomed?
15 February, 2007, 11:35:55 AM
Went to forbidden planet today. Got my list of comics but no meg. Asked person at counter whether or not they had it in and he said that they had stopped ordering it.

Now call me a worry wart but the last time this happened to me it was batman legends and a few months after being told this it was gone...

is this a case of forbidden planet being dicks again or is something bad really going to happen to the meg?

Film & TV / something worthwhile to watch on toonami?
10 November, 2006, 08:33:33 PM
Now I am not 100 percent sure if this is acurate but theres a rumour going around (which is being to stated as truth on wikipedia) that toonami have bought a bunch of new shows including these...

Cardcaptors
Digimon: Digital Monsters
Doctor Who (Classic series)
Kirby: Right Back at Ya!
Legion of Super Heroes
The Simpsons (Classic series)
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show
Thunderbirds

now while i think classic simpsons has been put on too many channels I am kind of psyched for both the classic doctor who and legion of superheroes.

Now if we can only get classic turtles, Superman the animated series, samurai pizza cats and bucky o hare I can die a happy man

anyway to the point of this thread i heard a rumour that the us version of the upcoming sonic gems collection has omitted the streets of rage series from it and i was curious whether anyone on this board knew if they were going to be in the european version?

Books & Comics / TheBlackkingisdead O.M.A.C spoilers
02 August, 2005, 04:36:43 PM
Hmm it has been a while since i've had a bitch at something and I feel like it is time for me to do so again.

I have been following the Infinite crisis lead in books for the past few months and while some things have really pissed me off (Killing the Giffen era league one at a time) there is an even bigger problem this month...

Maxwell lords death and the shite way it was dealt with. I do not collect superman i never will so expecting me to fork over for a four parter called sacrifice which bridges the gap between O.M.A.C 3 and 4 was insane. I shrugged it off thinking it was just a mindless scrap between Bats, supes and Wonder woman then i read that Max was offed in the last part of this four parter.

I was pissed I mean seriously pissed

So I am missing a major plot point in O.M.A.C because dc wanted to shill a few more copies of superman.

I hate Dc I really do first they take away Sue Dibny and Ted kord and then they take away my 2000ad graphic novels (thank god for rebellion eh?) and now this...

(I purpously never mentioned that rocket red 7 may be the next giffen character to die)

Film & TV / 100 greatest cartoons demon porn alert!
26 February, 2005, 04:04:21 PM
Well it seems whoever decided to vote for legend of the overfiend just to get the talking heads in the show to explain what they like about it may have won because while reading Stephs copy of heat it mentions in the preview for the show that said demon porn classic is in the list!

Ahh those 80s throwbacks are back and still as funny as ever though Identity crisis has made one of the recurring jokes (where ralph thinks sue is pregnant)a bit in bad taste. Now richard hertz though made me laugh like an adolesant and the shock (okay maybe not) revealtion of his partner in the pub was a classic and Mary marvel lactose intolerant? heh. just one problem though do we call ted black beetle now?!?

8 out of ten from this Bwah-ha-haing fan boy!
