Accidentally ordered 2 of these, the first of which arrived today. Rather than send one back, how about a trade? Open to suggestions but, ideally, would like a copy of the new Devlin Waugh collection. I don't mind if it has been read but 'like new' seems fair...

Dates already announced for this for next year and Charlie Adlard already confirmed as guest! Early bird tickets are only £10, limited to 200 and available until end of September

THE GREAT ART RAFFLE 2014 ( final date for entry will be 12 pm 28th June 2014 )

There are two pages (so far), with the possibility of more being added, in the raffle.

Anyone wishing to be entered in the raffle simply needs to join the group and leave a comment in the relevant thread. We will allocate a number to each comment; only those who leave a comment will be entered.  One entry per person. The Random Number Generator's decision is final. No squabbling at the back. Good luck everyone!

We would like to suggest that anyone wishing to enter the raffle also make a donation of £2 which will go to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (http://cbldf.org) - this donation is completely voluntary and will not affect your chances of winning.

Anyone wishing to donate should message John Burdis as he is the most honest man in the 2000ad world...

The page that Dale Jackson has dug out is a massive Judge Dredd B/W by Colin MacNeil and I am donating is a Judge Dredd B/W by Paul Marshall. If anyone else would like to donate a page or 2000ad goodies, drop me a line.

Come on over and join in the fun!

Prog / Prog 1884 - Crashing the Party
31 May, 2014, 03:17:10 PM
I can't believe I'm the only one to have received a prog today! Everyone must be really busy...

Cover - By Grud that's bright!  :o

Dredd - great stuff, once again, from my favourite non-Wagner writer and wonderful, gritty art from Percival again. I haven't seen MC-1 look quite so grimy in a long time

A welcome return to Grey Area this week with more developments in the larger arc - we're heading towards something big here... I really like Harrison's continual experimentation with his art too.

Slaine - gorgeous art and some movement in story; 2 more episodes 'til the end of Bk 1. Something major needs to happen!

3riller - really not enjoying this one at all. Sorry.

Indigo Prime - for me, the best of the bunch. Wonderful stuff from Smith/Carter/Bowland

And letters! Blimey!

A good solid prog overall.

This lovely hat arrived this morning but, as I don't wear hats, it's completely pointless! I'd like to swap it for the FIRST collection of Future Shocks sent out to subscribers. PM me if interested...

I've decided to offer this up for sale or trade. There are a couple of pieces I'm going to chase first but if anybody would like to get early offers in then feel free...

Prog / Prog 1846: The Dead Sea
17 August, 2013, 11:52:47 AM
I've never been the first to review a prog. I don't think I like it...

Cover: nice enough I suppose but I don't like anyone other than Gallagher drawing Defoe. Still, Trevallion does a solid job and the colours are nicely muted.

Dredd: Enjoying this very much, the story progresses and we get some great character beats. I like the way Wagner has switched to police procedural from apocalyptic epic; it really demonstrates his versatility as a writer.

Defoe: As before, I won't have a word said against it!

Ten Seconders: I thought this jarred visually this week. Without checking, I THINK there's been a switch in colourist. Whilst there's nothing wrong with it, it does seem much 'flatter' than previously.

AofW: The best thing I can think to say is 'meh', which I'm sorry to say is exactly how I felt after reading it.

Slaine: Another 'retread' but with slightly bigger deviation than last week. McMahon's art, while clearly not to everyone's taste, is bloody brilliant!

General / The Commissions Thread
13 July, 2013, 10:50:42 AM
With an increasing number of people commissioning pieces directly from artists it's about time they had a thread of their own.  To get the ball rolling then, here's my Kev Hopgood commission - the brief I gave him was simply 'Dredd & Tanner in a 1980s style buddy cop movie poster'.  Kev produced 2 pieces, largely due to me being an arse (REALLY sorry Kev).  He did an A3 landscape, inked with no text and a portrait, ink wash with text.

General / What's this? What's this?

Any help identifying this would be appreciated; art by John Cooper but that's all I know...

Not entirely convinced the final page belongs with the others either!

PM me with questions or offers.  I also have a Future Shock (I think) that I haven't yet identified and a sequence of 14 sheets that appear to tell a story of an orphan of some sort.  Full pages are £20, half pages £15, less than half between £5 and £10. Post and packing is free unless you're overseas.

It's worth mentioning that John pencilled and inked on A4 paper, scanned those onto his computer, composed the page and added grey scale. For offer then:

Classifieds / John Cooper original art

Just to repeat what's in the 'General' thread:

John has dug out a further 200 - 300 pages (A4 sheets) of Armitage work that he wants to sell.  Initially, he's looking to sell as a job lot.  So, PM me (sensible) offers if you are interested and I will pass the best one on. If no offers are forthcoming I shall probably be selling them on a bit at a time on ebay.  More details to follow as and when possible but I believe this lot includes the whole of the 'Tontine Club'
