General / US Graphic Novel Releases
23 June, 2013, 03:50:28 AM
Hey all.

I live in the US so 2000AD is pretty hard to come by (my progs are digital because the cost of importing physical copies would be astronomical probably). There are US releases of trade paperbacks (such as Judge Dredd), but I was curious if there were plans to release stuff like more ABC Warriors or Nemesis volumes in the US? I only ask this because I'd love to collect those books, as many of the strips aren't in print over here, and importing them would cost quite a bit.

Also I was wondering if IDW was going to be in charge of bringing 2000AD here from now on as I've noticed they've been releasing Judge Dredd collections as well as stuff like Zaucer of Zilk over here.

Welcome to the board / Oh, hey.

Hey there, I've been lurking a bit and decided to join. I can't say that I've been a long time fan of 2000AD, as I'm 19 and live in America, so this is all a bit new to me (aside from Judge Dredd, who seems to be the only character from 2000AD that people over here can recognize for the most part), but it's something I've gotten into recently. I've been reading comics ever since I was really young, and it's actually kinda funny, how I discovered 2000AD. I was reading the book 'Everything' by Simon Price (a Manic Street Preachers biography, probably the only good band biography I've ever read), and it mentioned how Richey Edwards was a fan of 2000AD and comics in general. So I've went from curiously looking up a Judge Dredd parody of the '4REAL' incident and a Nicky Wire reference (?) in Zenith to frantically finding and reading Nemesis the Warlock and ABC Warriors.

I've never read an actual prog in my life, but I've heard that they might start being sold in America soon? Maybe I'll be seeing some in Newbury Comics one day if that's the case. It'd be good to see some of these series being recognized by more people over here.
