I don't mind the gore, just thought it was a terrible painting.

General / Re: MARCH ART COMP - THE VOTING THREAD

For me, (1) Bob Molesworth's anarchic and just downright fun Mongrol just pips (2) JT Pegg's uber-cool Joe Pineapples. Both great images and both perfectly capture different aspects of the strip. (3) Darren Stephens' excellent 90s-tastic Mechanismo gets 3rd for me, and HM to Kerrin for that excellent stogie. There were loads of other cracking entries though and choosing wasn't easy :)

Stickleback & Zombo rule. Other thrills were a bit below par for me. Although Inaki's Lawmasters are the business.

I never got round to cancelling my Meg sub, and I'm quite glad actually. Very much enjoyed the latest Hondo City Justice outing (especially the artwork), and it's marvellous to have Insurrection back. But Sexy Ostriches can still p*ss off.

Oz The Great & Powerful. A huge disappointment. James Franco just looks uncomfortable doing his slightly madcap thing and Rachel Weisz chews all the fake CGI scenery. Mila Kunis was ok, but the best thing in the film was Michelle Wiliams - the only cast member who convinced at all. The rest of the film lacked any charm or menace whatsoever, but hey, it's raked in shitloads of money and a sequel and theme park ride are already on the cards, so job's a good 'un then.

Not a particularly inspired addition to this thread but two of my favourite artists at the moment are Fiona Staples (the magnificent pop-arty Saga) and Becky Cloonan (her take on Conan was sublime and I miss her on the title).

Jenny Frison is also knocking out some cracking cover art on Revival and a couple of other titles. Her cover for the first issue of Revival was a corker and one of my faves of last year.

Haven't watched a truly great film for a while now. I'm sure they're still out there waiting to be discovered and a few are even being made right now, but I can't find them. And to be honest, I can't be arsed to try at the moment.

Only half an hour away from me, so I reckon I could pop up for a bit  :)

All this without being able to draw!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Some really nice imagery going on here. Reminds me a bit of the late great Hicklenton  :)

Hated last week's but I couldn't even make it to the end of this third one. Awful. Conversely, I thought the first episode was very effective and really well done.

Yep, best thing on telly by a country mile. Let's hope they can sustain the quality. Season 3 of The Walking Dead is stunning so far, but GOT has been incredible right from the get-go.
